    At this point I’ve watched thousands of furniture refinishing videos, and this one is the best I’ve seen.

      That is the most kind thing I've ever heard! Thank You! I'm embarrassed to admit that this was one of the first videos we ever filmed...the quality isn't the greatest, but it does get the point across. We're always improving our videography skills 😂 We're glad you enjoyed it! Have a good one!

      You're so sweet Lourdes! Thanks so much! We love the way it turned out as well, and can't get over how inexpensive it was to achieve the same look at Restoration Hardware!

    I don't really see that as an upgrade over what you already had. For a nautical look you could have used weathered rope as trim or some old rusty cleats. All that labor seems quite unnecessary. But to each his (or her) own I guess.

      You're right it was a process...but ultimately I do like the coloring of the wood after staining it a little darker.

    What would you recommend to finish off if I were using this technique on a dining table to make it durable and easy to clean?

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  2 роки тому

      Great question! You’d definitely want to add a sealer like wipe on poly or a polyurethane that could be brushed on.
      Instead of aging the wood with the white wax, you’d want to dry brush on a little watered down white paint, or there is even a “white wash” stain you can get too.
      Hope that helps 🙌🏼

    How long did you let the steel wool sit in the vinegar?

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  4 роки тому

      Jenn Reine Just a few days.

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  4 роки тому +1

      We let it sit for 3 days, just until the steel wool begins to fall apart.
