    ive watched a fe of your videos and think you teach it brilliantly, you have earned my youtube subscription and my attention!!!
    I just recently fell in ove with gypsy jazz, and all the other videos explaining it only confused me in so many ways, with some technical jazz mumbo jumbo without the actually feel for it or a simple underlying layout to grasp the style.
    thank you very much.

    Nice! I don't know have you noticed, but in some ends of the forms instead a Bb7 is also an F7. Try that

    • @SvenJungbeck
      @SvenJungbeck  7 років тому

      of course, I know! but the original Django Version is with Bb.
      For a lot of beginners it's also irritating, giving to much variations.

      @bobgeorges 7 років тому

      I'm using it alternatively. :) Anyway, just for the record, I still think that this video is the best offer here about Minor Swing chord progression. Thank you for the feedback! :)

    • @SvenJungbeck
      @SvenJungbeck  7 років тому +3

      yes, me too. there are a lot of possibilities to increase the harmonies. actually you could you could use any possible turnaround in minor like:
      Am / F7 E7
      Am C6 / Bm7b5 E7
      Am F7 / Bb7 E7
      Am G / F7 E7
      and in measure 9 you could play
      Dm /G7/ C6/ F6 / Bm7b5 /E7/
      and turnaround.
      and of course you can play A7 or C#dim before Am moves to Dm
      Am / Am C#dim / Dm
      anyway. this is for beginners. if you know how to play in a session.
      then you don't need videos like these ;)
      and if you don't know the style, it's better to stick to the original recording first.
      I mean I can of course play whatever variation in that style. but it would be far to much for one vid ;)

    • @lkb3rd
      @lkb3rd 7 років тому +1

      It is just a different way to play the same chord by shuffling the notes around. The b "half diminished" also called "minor7 flat 5" chord has the same notes as the d minor6 chord. So it gives you a different choice for variety and/or a different sound for your d minor6 chord.
      Hope I didn't step on your toes Sven, this is a good lesson with some cool ideas.
