- The stock build is impressively heavy for a aluminum bike. It felt like riding with the brakes on constantly so we are going to do something about it. There was a big black friday sale for Hunt Trail Wide wheels. For $330 shipped, it was worth the gamble on the quality.
I got a SDG 170 on my V8 Chameleon… L fram. I want to buy the ONEUP V2 210mm of travel!!! glad I watched this.
I would have sworn that I updated the info. My friend was able to jam the oneup all the way down till where it almost sat flush. The dropper cable was so stiff that it didn't allow it to go down. After we forced it down, it will go down.
I think I can use a wheels manufacturing BB? 73mm threaded. I have GX cranks

nice build man ive got a 2020 santa cruz chameleon what I recommend is a new stem and handlebars makes it feel more snappy. im going to upgrade the fork on mine soon!
So odd, I weighted my fully stock, size large D build, without pedals and it came to 32.5 pounds.
Maybe pedals weights more than expected. I always weight the bikes ready to ride. But I actually weight it on a luggage scale vs standing on the scale method. This bike was for sure over 34 lbs with pedals before the wheel upgrade
Nice bike. But I’m still tripping out on the weight! My full suspension trail bike 2021 Giant trance is 31.7 pounds with a Fox 36 and piggyback DVO rear shock! Same wheelset and 20mm rise One up bar. That’s still very heavy for a hardtail mtb.
Hence the impressively heavy comment
Yeah, that 31 lb weight that Santa Cruz list for this bike is an absolute lie.

do i need the 30.9 x 150mm or 31.6 x 150mm?
@@amanandamalamute you need a 31.6 diameter. Why do you want a 150m that is what it comes with from the factory on a medium frame.
@@s14tat it’s an xl frame and I did want bigger than 150 but I saw a video on here and a guy reckons you can’t fit anything bigger than a 150 on this bike because of the bend in the tube or is that not correct? Thanks
@@amanandamalamute I made a correction in the pinned comment. He was able to fit a 180mm dropper from oneup after you jam it all the way in. The reason why I thought the dropper couldn't do any further down was because the dropper cable was so stiff that I felt like I bottomed out. If you can fit a 180mm on a medium you can at the minimum fit a 200mm on a xl
