There are some good new rock bands out there, but they're unfortunately out of the radars, so mainstream masses don't have a clue about their existence.
      Some names:
      - Dirty Honey (a band influenced by The Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses)
      - South Of Eden (they began their career under the name of Black Coffee)
      - Void Vator (they're more oriented Heavy Metal)
      - Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown
      - Starbenders (this band is fronted by a female singer and plays a mix of Glam-Rock, Pop, New-Wave, Classic-Rock and Alternative Rock)
      - Jax Hollow (a female singer who can also play guitar)
      - Shaw Davis & The Black Ties (a power-trio who plays Blues-Rock with strong Jimi Hendrix & Stevie Ray Vaughan influences)
      - Stacie Collins (a female singer in her 40s, but with a lot of energy on stage. She plays a mix of Blues-Rock, Southern-Rock & Classic-Rock)
      - Fire Tiger (a power-pop band heavily influenced by the 80's)
      - Kickin Valentina (a Sleaze/Hard Rock band)
      - Massive (an awesome Hard Rock band from Australia)
      - The Georgia Thunderbolts
      - Stone Whiskey (the musicians are not really young, but they know for sure Guns N' Roses, The Cult, AC/DC, Kix, Van Halen)
There are also some older bands like Buckcherry, Whiskey Myers, The Cadillac Three, Rival Sons, Black Stone Cherry, Blackberry Smoke, The Darkness, Volbeat, Crashdiet (a swedish sleaze/glam band with a fantastic debit album called "Rest In Sleaze" in 2005), Ghost, The Black Keys who made some good albums.
In Europe, there are also good bands like The Vintage Caravan (a band from Iceland), Heavy Feather (Sweden), Mojothunder (UK), Blues Pill (Sweden), Audrey Horne (Norway), The Night Flight Orchestra (Sweden), Imperial Jade (Spain), Jess And The Ancient Ones (Finland), Kadavar (Germany), Paddy & The Rats (Hungary), Hell In The Club (Italy).

Yeah, that's right- an entire country. It's the most metal country there is. The song above is I Miss the Misery and they are already legend. So they are gonna be around for a long time. Lzzy has done so many collaborations with Corey Taylor, Myles Kennedy, David Draiman, the Hu, Nita Strauss, Slash, Dee Snider, Amy Lee, Apocalyptica, Dream Theatre, Taylor Momsen, Tom Keifer, Daughtry, & a plethora of other insanely talented musicians. Halestorm also performed on a ship with other notably famous musicians in front of Sammy Hagar, who was blown away from both the band and Lzzy beast vocals especially since that specific performance Lzzy herself was not happy with. Nevertheless, she still managed to highly impress Sammy Hagar on what Lzzy herself considered to be a bad day performing vocally.

I'll be honest, I'd heard of Halestorm before but have not really listened to much of their music. I'm not really into Heavy Metal like Lamb of God, Megadeath and the ilk. Now I may check them out! I love that she covered Skid Row's Slave to the Grind.
While she is 7 years younger than me, we had similar experiences growing up. My Dad's favorite bands were Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, DIO, AC/DC and the ilk and then I was huge into Cinderella, Tesla, Motley Crue and Joan Jett as a pre-teen and teen. My dad made me an Alice Cooper mix tape that had School's Out on it for the last day of school when I was in 5th grade. All my friends and school mates thought it was really weird as they were all listening to top 40 and pop. Later in high school, most of my friends were into NKOTB, Milli Vannilli, MC Hammer, while I was listening to Hard Rock and some Heavy Metal.

So stoked you are doing a segment on Lzzy Hale. Her vocals are insane & the musicianship of the band is so good!!!
Funny story of how I came across the band Halestorm. My wife is a hair stylist/cosmetologist. She cut/styled Joe Hottinger’s hair & his Father’s.
Joe & my wife got to talking one day & he asked my wife, if her husband liked rock music. My wife said, YES!!! So he gave her a live album of Halestorm… Live in Philly. I think it had like 12 tracks on it, I was like yeah, sure, I’ll check it out. Threw it the old C.D. Player, in the car & from It’s Not You, the 1st track, to Better Sorry Than Safe, the 12th track, I was hooked!!!
I was showing everyone I knew that C.D. I told my wife I can’t believe this band isn’t already famous?!?!?!? I even trough up song’s on my FB page!!! When I threw up Better Sorry Than Safe, I wrote… Take another little pice of my Halestorm baby! Lol 😂 Listen to that live track & you’ll understand why. After a couple of year’s, I heard Halestorm on the radio & was super stoked! Got home & asked my wife if she was still styling Joe’s hair & she said, she hadn’t seen him in awhile & just figured he’d found another stylist.
I said, I just heard them on the radio & that’s probably why you haven’t seen or heard from him. Looks like they’re living the dream & you probably will never see him again. (Small world) Now I’ve gotta buy all the new album’s, no more free-bees. They’re covers of Heart, Temple Of The Dog, Cher, Lady Gaga, Cher, etc. are freaking amazing!

I just became a fan of Halestorm as a result of this video.
    What an incredible story.
I can relate to being the outcast in school. 1984 I was 14. Only wore band tshirts, had long hair earrings and simply loved all things metal.
The school I was in was dominated by classic rock fans who didn't get it.
By the time I graduated in 88 most of the class had at least shoulder length hair!!
Not saying I had any influence, but it was alot of fun to watch all the bullies that shamed and name called jump on the bandwagon.
I appreciated this young women's story, her voice and her ability as well as her humility and sense of humor.
More blessings to her and her band for even greater future success.

She seems super cool and down to earth, not to mention talented. Powerful voice. As a kid I was unable to really take most hard rock/hairbands seriously, but as I've gotten older and listened with a more mature ear I'm actually really impressed with the talent of people like Lizzie Hale and Ronnie James Dio. Also, I like when you feature artists like this to remind me to give this new-to-me stuff a listen. Thank you as always 😊

I'm 51, so probably the same age as her dad... and I grew up on the same music. Alice Cooper, Dio, Sabbath, 80's hair metal... and when I first heard Halestorm it was "I miss the Misery" and I was like... Oh, fuck yeah!!

New? 😆 Saw Halestorm ten years ago here in NOLa. They ..let’s face it Lzzy Hale..and the band were fantastic. But then, Lzzy started singing Heart’s Crazy On You, but the 90’s “Lovemongers “soulful version, acapella. I was the only person who knew exactly what she was doing, as I’m a Heartmonger. I met Lzzy and Joe Hottinger after the show, told her what I loved, and got a pic with them. Lzzy is simply awesome.

I can relate so much to her 11 years old memory. I was 11 in 2010, everyone over here in my country were into Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga (she´s cool tho) and reggaeton. So i listened to The Police, The Cure, Evanescence, and my friends never understood or enjoyed coming to my house bc they didnt like the music :(

Lzzy really does have a powerful voice; check out Halestorm's cover of "All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You", as well as her duet version of "Nobody's Fool" with Tom Keifer. She has also performed with the likes of Eric Church and Amy Lee, as well as host of AXS TV's "A Year in Music".

    • @kyliepollert8341
      @kyliepollert8341 3 роки тому

@Anna TrailI'm sure you know this, but "Nobody's Fool" is a duet version of the Cinderella power ballad, which was the band Tom Keifer was the frontman for. The Eric Church song is called "That's Damn Rock & Roll", while the Amy Lee one is called "Break In".

@Anna Trail The live at Bestbuy version of "All I want to do, is make love to you" is amazing, something that wasn't able to be captured/ recreated on the recorded version. The CMA version of "That's damn Rock & Roll" with Eric Church is great, he knows she will blow him away vocally but still introduces her to his country audience and shows a happiness and excitement at her performance (much kudos to him!)

Download Festival 2019 was the last time Slayer was to appear in Melbourne. I stayed for a couple of songs and then walked away to see @Halestorm The best decision I ever made. Saw them a second time at the Forum with my daughter, a blessing as Lzzy is a true role model and not just for the 'girl at the rock show' but for all of us!

Love Lizzy & the band, she is quite the workaholic. Was first introduced to the band on a TV program were a guy goes in and redoes a bar to make it successful and Halestorm happened to be the band hired to play the opening. Soon as I heard that voice and it had it was strong and gritty I knew I had to hear more. Great band.

Lzzy does seem SUPER COOL. I was thinking she's GOTTA be an influence for female performers/singers (just like Lita Ford is...) and then she mentioned girls telling her she is, SO AWESOME. I haven't listened to them in a minute, thanks for the great video and getting me motivated to get off my ass and put on their music.
