Wayne Carey, just about every week, running with the flight of the ball, eyes only for the ball, jumps blindly into a pack and pulls down the grab, never gets a mention, Jonathan Brown did it once, gets replayed monthly
I recently wrote on a Gary Ablett Senior highlight package that he is the best footballer i've seen in my 50 years following the game but i would pick Wayne Carey before anyone if i had to pick a team of the best ever and he would be Captain. Arguably the best player to play the game, the way he led North Melbourne to Premiership success in the 90's was magnificent. The difference between Ablett and Carey is that Carey hardly ever played a 'bad' game and always played well in big games.Always.A born leader of men,he did just that and as an inspirational Captain, his mates just followed him to glory. Unfortunately for Ablett,he never saw Premiership success in his time at Geelong. If he could have handled city life and stayed at Hawthorn it would obviously have been a completely different story.

Wayne Carey is the King. Clearly the best player of the AFL era.
The greatest contested marker of all time. GOAT!
Wayne Carey was the best mark for a man of his size and strength that I’ve ever seen.

Carey was the only player who would do this regularly and when he did it was the pack that was worried.
GOAT!

Before he did his shoulders, he was unstoppable 😁 no one plays like that anymore , too hard on the body
Anything to make a highlight reel...
