In this series we'll be animating a frame by frame animation in Photoshop, if you haven't yet familiarised yourself with basic Photoshop functions then I recommend watching the Intro to Photoshop series first. You can find the link below, it's not long only 45m or so.
You'll also need AnimDessin2 to follow along, it's very simple to install, just follow the instructions.
Frame by frame animation is possible without this plugin, but AnimDessin2 is a great free plugin that gives us some more traditional animation tools to work with. Let's do it!

We're also trailing a new stroke recorder that displays my keystrokes, it jumps about a bit in this series, but I've solved that now, let me know what you think! Additionally my camera sometimes disconnected, but it doesn't affect the tutorial, so I didn't bother re-recording! Thanks!

How do you make your interface so small? I downloaded your Animatedessin and the tabs are incredibly fat and take up a lot of my work space.
I can't seem to drag them down to make them any smaller and my IU interface options are all o9n the smallest they can be.

If you're having trouble on a mac with the extension try this. Make sure the ExtensionsManager is placed in the Applications folder after downloading it. Once it's there, you can make sure the Manager is up to date by going to file

Hi, looking forward to getting into this and downloaded animdessin no problem (instructions were fairly clear!). But your website, with the photoshop file only features an image for this project, not a downloadable file. Same problem as Mel Hoover I think?!

Aaa I need to learn to use the video timeline I’ve been dealing with the frame-by-frame weird timeline and it’s evil-you’re my #1 art channel :o Is this like your job?? I’ve always wanted an art/animation related job and i’d love to work at Disney one day, but seeing as they have quite a low acceptance rate I also need to pick up things from people who animate as a job.

cool video , could someone explain how to add multiple frames to same layer for example when to make realistic character speaking, and to save time instead of making new layer for new mouth for position , just to add frames for mouth positions in same layer, does someone know how to do it? will appreciate for help
Try adding a video layer instead of a frame layer, that'll give you auto blank frames, every frame
Is animation possible on an iPad as I am not given the option to click window or animate in any way, what am I missing?
Onion skin is really glitchy on Photoshop. Is there any solution to this? It completely disappears when I select and move something.

are you using pen display with touch support or you assign short keys to animdessin button?
Im using a Wacom display but i haven't assigned any specific shortcut keys

Any tutorial using AnimDessin2 is completely redundant for most of us. Installing AnimDessin2 is not an easy task, and we can't get it done (following the step-by-step instructions in the link, or any other link simply does not work). Unless you show the installation from start to finish first - most won't even get started.
I dont agree, its very simple to install, but I'll happily make a video if that helps. It clearly works as I'm using it in the video.
