I like how the demons all have some sort of trauma symbolism: Asterion being religious, Kevins being sexual/masochistic [as some people who end up with sexual trauma form a unhealthy relationship with sex], Yuma being possibly just straight up physical abuse [but really I think it could be any, also Yuma also is serving trans-masc energy]. Stardust is the only one that isn't "apparent" but I like to think the goat/bell is similar to being emotionally manipulated and treated more like cattle, or even trauma fawning. De-humanizing and all that!
I don't think this is even close to a "meaning" but I thought it was fun to point out, even if two of these are a stretch!
[Also noting Ghosts art, Yuma having BPD traits would also make sense! The switching between "Kill Me" or "Worship Me", and the feeling of being puppeted aren't unknown. As well as when Kevin get untied, it's shown he's immeidatly angry/resentful. Another show casing that abuse victims, while they may partake in the act that hurt them, aren't just ""allowing"" it to happen again. They're coping.]

This part slaps me close to home because i feel it's sorta like, the abuser always had malicious intentions but we were too gullible, naive or clueless to see it. They knew their intentions but we did not. Even if this song is or isn't about being abused this part hits hard frfr
okay so i actually had multiple ways of interpreting what the synth's designs were supposed to represent but this is what i think is most likely
yuma is portrayed as a literal demon, whilst also representing what society doesnt see as acceptable. revealing clothing, makeup and traditionally "feminine" clashing with "masculine" appearance, loads of piercings. im also aware that the designs are supposed to be different kinds of trauma, maybe yuma's is psychological? the puppet theme seems to be rather persistent, of course "broken and torn apart" is a metaphorical lyric here, but yuma has literal ball joints. you could pop them on and off like a plaything. see what im getting at? yuma has been manipulated, and scorned for wanting to stand out. of course theres a hole where their heart should be.
xingchen (or stardust) has an appearance more resembling nature and livestock. she has a collar with a giant cow bell on it for gods sake, and the moon phases on her skirt might also be a metaphor for fragility and natural processes. maybe she thinks what happened to her was bound to occur at some point, or that it was her "destiny" to be treated this way, but she came out ontop nonetheless. also her ram horns are even more reminiscent and supporting of the livestock motif
asterian is a hard one actually, i think maybe based on the crosses and golden horns, apart from being a style and color choice, is pointing towards a theme of angels and religious trauma. his clothes are rather formal, like ones you might wear to a procession. i genuinely dont have many other ideas as i dont have much knowledge on religious topics
kevin is literally tied up, and not in a way that anybody could tie themselves up. the bodysuit combined with the ropes give very obvious sexual and physical trauma. i also think that the collar contributes even more to the idea of trauma specifically involving being degraded against ones will. i could and would say more but its probably not in anybodys (including my own) best interest for me to do so
and if youre wondering why i did this? i dont know. ive been hyperfixating on this one song so hard that i have ingrained it into everything i do. this song resonates so much with me that i dont think its even laughable anymore. i even made a fucking mv. this is the beginning of the end.
in english class one of our vocabulary words was scapegoat and as we were reviewing them i was sitting there shaking and sobbing and quaking and whimpering and trying so so so hard to not say something like "theres a real cool song called that" and have my teacher questioning my mental health the next day

I truly can’t explain how much I love this song. To me at least, it perfectly captures the feeling of angry triumph over my abuser in a kind of “I’ll make you repent” kind of way. Yes, I am forever changed and damaged by what they’ve done (I have osdd) but at the same time now we are stronger and I feel like an angry god. Does that make sense?
Also the whole “living out of spite” thing is something that speaks to me on a very deep level, as many years of my life have quite literally been me surviving just so I can say “fuck you, I’ll ruin you too one day”

it's really hard for me to figure out what ghost's songs could mean, but this one gives me the impression of like, triumph over someone's abuser? that's the general gist but i want to guess what each character could have gone through based on their designs. yuma could be being controlled and manipulated as suggested by the drawing of him with strings and his doll-like design. the others have me confused tbh 💀 asterian might be religious trauma because of his clothes which remind me of something a priest or pastor would wear. kevin can be something sexual?? i think?? the way his shorts are, well, short among other details of his clothes, and being tied up by ropes makes me think of that. i think the idea of being trapped and having a lack of freedom also works because of the ropes. for stardust i could not think of anything please help 😭
edit: i think stardust is a scapegoat or something? her horns are different from the others' and they resemble the horns of a goat in that case she would have been in a situation where she got blamed for everything that she went through like getting victim blamed by the abuser

I think there might not be a singular scapegoat, more just all of them fulfilling different roles, but Yuma might be closest to the singular one since he's shown being taken apart and most of the times where it's closest to directly mentioning the scapegoat being harmed it's him, and also I think religious imagery might be somewhat important? The idea of the scapegoat is used a lot in religion, and the whole "bow down and worship me" thing.
…I swear if this is related to Uncanny somehow… again. Poor Kevin.

They accepted, and after the first two songs they started to be as obsessed as I am. While we were taking a look to your channel together we saw you were going to do a première of a new song, but we didn't see the date. I find it interesting how Yuma has what looks like a hole in him with a spiral in it, the same spiral on the face of the person most likely depicted as his abuser. I interpreted it like the abuser 'got under Yuma's skin' and made him think badly about himself and have him constantly remember what he went through, and now it's become a part of him.
i always saw this song as a continuation of uncanny, these are alters in a did system and they all take on a different form of trauma, yuma being physical abuse, stardust being emotionally belittled down to a "pet", asterian being religious trauma, and kevin being a form of sexual trauma where the abused become obsessed with sex. idk thats just two cents. i wouldnt doubt that this is the same abuser for all of them because they share a body:)

Lots of other people have said that this feels like getting retribution against an abuser, and it probably is accurate though abuser gives a more personal feel than we'd ascribe to the song, it feels like the colorless one is definitely not only one person as the term abuser implies.

I don’t know if GHOST will see it (and maybe i don’t really want that but) but i still wanna say thank you! All those songs for a long time were my almost only way of processing emotions, and they still actually are. They are the only thing that gets me through this shit right now, everything is just confusing and wrong and i can’t find anyone who could really understand (not even myself), but those amazing songs always made me feel better. I don’t know if i could be able to process anything more complex than simple reactions without it.
