Worked at The Rembrandt 1971-3 (Uni) (Landlord Reg Kilduff} downstairs busy every night run by a deaf guy , nice bloke. Upstairs lunch restaurant , quiet evening bar. top floor 6 letting rooms was a 2 way mirror between 2 of the rooms ( A Reg perk) The Playboy club was next door. Good couple of years then back to London and reality, all in all good memories.
Happy memories, Bill! Thanks for sharing them. The Rembrandt had been there forever. It was the first LGBT+ Tim went into in Manchester although in those days it was just LGB! 😁❤️🌈
Canal St - street sign was either nicked or changed - it used to say - Canal Street - then - anal street - then anal treat. It was funny & made us feel at home! Bit late in replying to this vlog, buy it just started on my TV.
We remembered that sign well, iDavo. Tim asked a lady working in one of the bars in Canal Street what had happened to it, but she didn't know. At least the Cocker Street sign in Blackpool remains suitably defaced 😆 xxx
Thank you Paul. Ahh! That explains it! After we saw the bees on Canal Street we started noticing them everywhere in Manchester. When we filmed that bit if the video it was the first time we noticed them properly. Thanks for your comment 🐝🌹💛
The thing is guys. The video.s in Blackpool things have changed slightly. The flamingo.s has gone in certain respect that it is straight club now such a shame though. I was in Blackpool with my partner and friends. Sapphires has reasontly closed but I enjoy your videos. Please show more
@@johnforster9222 we will be in Blackpool next weekend so will hopefully get chance to film some more, hopefully Sapphires will find a new home. The council is demolishing the building, I would hope they were highly compensated
Thanks Paul. We saw a documentary about it ages ago but they couldn't determine whether it was a series of tragic accidents or there was someone behind it.
So disappointing the sign has gone, we did ask a few people and no one knew where or why it's been taken. It was early lunchtime, probably too many hangovers!
Love Manchester we go all the time from newcastle.but I must say the Thomson arms has to be the worst bar that I've experienced terrible manager attitude and the staff look like they have lost the will to live it's not a welcoming place all the other bars are fantastic
John, we must have had a different experience when we were in, although it was during the day. We ❤️ Newcastle too, can't wait to film some VLOGs on our next trip up
Thanks so much for this video. Many happy memories brought back!
Drag bingo, karaoke and lots of fun!
Keep up the great work guys!
Thank you T.H.. We're glad it brought back some happy memories. We really need to make an update! 🏳️🌈☀️🥰
Used to live in Manchester in Hulme during the naughties, what fabulous times in Canal Street
Wow! We bet you had some fun in those days, Dr. 🌈
Very informative, may now visit to see more. Thanks
Your welcome, we would recommend and thanks!
Thanks guys - really helpful. Heading there this weekend.
Thanks John and we hope you have a smashing weekend. The forecast didn't seem too bad

Good memories of gentle stroles along the canals of Mancs., Is CV still frequenting it too.?
Thanks Peter! We're not regulars in Manchester - we're not sure who CV is.

Can anyone recommend any older silver daddy bars in Manchester?
I think you might like Eagle and Rem Bar
@@thechatterguys thanks guys, must. Check those out

The worker bee is the symbol of Manchester. Look on our coat of arms. When the Manchester Arena bomb went off after the bee was a symbol of unity.😊

Thank you ❤️
Thank you!
Would you do a Birmingham gay tour video
That is a great idea, Nigel! We'll put it in our list for future videos 🩷🎡
The smiley face killers it is linked to.
Thanks for that, it's always a mystery
The serial killer was known As The Pusher but nothing has been substantiated.
Thanks Paul. We saw a documentary about it ages ago but they couldn't determine whether it was a series of tragic accidents or there was someone behind it.
