the show is improvised. larry writes a 7 page outline with what has to happen in each scene and then everybody improvises to reach the "scene objective"
Richard Lewis and Larry David met at age 12 at summer camp (and hated each other) but befriended each other as standups in the 70s. That relationship probably helped a lot to make the banter on the show look effortless. RIP Richard Lewis
Agreed 100%!!!!! I knew this reaction was going to be great......I didn't know it was going to be THAT great! And it's only the first episode!!!! 😃 And there are a million seasons! 😆
Agreed i like it when they break or actually laugh when people would in real life, unlike friends etc when they are just stone faced but constantly cracking jokes.
SO SPECIAL to experience this again for the first time with you. I've been following your channel for years. But Curb is so classic for me, more than Sunny even. This episode is from 2000! The series definitely peaked in its middle years in my opinion.Worth watching for sure! Thanks!
My brother nailed it when we watched this first episode: Curb is Seinfeld with all of the filters removed... I love that he plays himself, I love that it is unscripted, I love that it is cast with all of his friends, many playing themselves. Susie Essman is a riot!
Super grateful to see another person go through Curb on UA-cam, thank you for this! Not enough people have done watch-throughs of it, and there hasn't been a complete one yet.
Love love LOVE curb. this show has one of the funniest scenes that I've ever seen on TV. I laughed so hard my ribs hurt and my wife had to check on me. Hope you enjoy because you're in for a treat!
There was a 1 hour HBO mockumentary called Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm that was like a year or two before the series that would be worth checking out as it was before they knew they were doing the series and has more of the backstory.
Guuyyys, it's finally here 🙌🏽 James I'm going thought some hard times and my fave reactor reacting to one of my fave shows definitely helped. Please don't forget to post more ik u r agen must be tight so I appreciate, f *ucking thank YOU. Hope u r heading to a good weekend, much love from Brasil 💜
What's imo important to know is that the show is made so Larry David writes like a really loose skeleton of a script with the key-points what will happen in an episode. Then when it's filmed they totally improvize the dialoque and everything with like, an actor knowing he needs to bring up a certain topic in the middle of the talking in the scene to move the plot forward. It's pretty masterfull that the show works soo well with how they do it 😄 Just becomes better and better over time
Forgot how strong this show started, throughout I have been very much with Larry on most stances and so am driven crazy by pretty much every guest character and my god are Jeff's parents such a pain in the ass, the lecturing and telling their son who he should and shouldn't have as a client, I now have 45% less hair
So happy your finally watching been saying commenting it for months. Great show almost all improvised. He only gives the actors points he wants them to hit but how they get from a to b is up to them
The father of Jeff (Larry's agent) was played by comic Louie Nye, who had been prominent into the 1970's but had largely been out of circulation until this show brought him back.
I finally watched this about a year ago. This show's fantastic and hilarious! "Who am I? I'm a guy without a table.", that line and delivery killed me! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hell yeah James I can't believe it! And so begins the reaction to the greatest sitcom ever! The only sitcom next to Always Sunny that hooked me from the very first episode and made me laugh from the beginning.
Veep is also great! Man oh man, thank God for the Seinfeld show, that spawned two other monster shows....not to mention giving early roles to half the cast of Breaking Bad! 🤣
Instant like - fuck yes! About the authenticity, Seinfeld had this quality as well and I really like it! No laugh track, just laughing at and with real people.
PS. yes, Larry and Richard Lewis met and disliked each other at 12 at summer camp. (they were born 3 days apart in the same hospital )Met again as adults and realized they'd met each other as kids and became best friends until Richard passed away last year.
Larry David writes the story for each episode, like an outline basically. But he doesn’t write any lines. They all know what needs to happen in the scene for the story but what they say and how they get there is all improvised.
You have a long way to go and the journey is amazing, such a clever and hilarious show, Seinfeld was my favorite show this too is brilliant writing, it gets better later just like any season do happy you're watching it ❤
"He just made a mortal enemy in like 10 minutes of the show", that pretty much sums up every episode lol
The limo driver lady was my favorite
He said that and I immediately burst out laughing and said, "yeah, that's a theme!"
Lmfao
the show is improvised. larry writes a 7 page outline with what has to happen in each scene and then everybody improvises to reach the "scene objective"
The talent is real.
"Oh no! This thing is out of control - it's spiralling!" Welcome to Curb Your Enthusiasm
Larry is in the right 85% of the time and it's infuriating. The peoples' champion. Love this show.
I can’t wait for the Leon episodes, the Larry-Leon chemistry is peak Curb!
Meet the Blacks
Richard Lewis and Larry David met at age 12 at summer camp (and hated each other) but befriended each other as standups in the 70s. That relationship probably helped a lot to make the banter on the show look effortless. RIP Richard Lewis
I didn't know they knew each other that young pretty cool, I can see them hating each other too lol 😂
And they were one day apart in age.
@@adamp2029born in the same hospital I believe
You'll find that Larry is the world's foremost expert when it comes to becoming hated or finding something trivial to get upset about.😂😂😂
Victor Meldrew on steriods
Oh this is going to be so great, especially with you James!
I’m really amped about this one!
You have no idea !
It's mostly all improv. Larry just gives the actors the basic story and they just go with it. Genius.
so excited for this one & every season it just gets better and better
I love how they manage to always bring the story full circle.
Can’t wait to see more of your curb reactions!
This was amazing. Hope you react to more episodes. This show is a comfort for me. Absolutely love it 🥰
Thank you so much for doing this show! I think you’ll love it.
Cheers! I’m already on board!

No joke when this show first came on I actually assumed it was a reality show about Larry David’s actual life
Larry is my hero. He just says whatever he thinks. I so miss that.
My brother nailed it when we watched this first episode: Curb is Seinfeld with all of the filters removed... I love that he plays himself, I love that it is unscripted, I love that it is cast with all of his friends, many playing themselves. Susie Essman is a riot!
This show is LEGEND!!!! Very glad you're doing it :)

Richard Lewis and Larry David have the best banter
Most of the show is improv, which makes it feel real
S tier comedy along with Seinfeld
Here we go, the greatest comedy show ever made. Gets better with pretty much every season too
Super grateful to see another person go through Curb on UA-cam, thank you for this! Not enough people have done watch-throughs of it, and there hasn't been a complete one yet.

Criminally underrated show. I can tell you get the humor. Excited to watch the show again through your channel
Love love LOVE curb. this show has one of the funniest scenes that I've ever seen on TV. I laughed so hard my ribs hurt and my wife had to check on me. Hope you enjoy because you're in for a treat!
Beloved aunt?
@vincentjoyce5100 parting the "seas" for Palestinian chicken 🤣
There was a 1 hour HBO mockumentary called Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm that was like a year or two before the series that would be worth checking out as it was before they knew they were doing the series and has more of the backstory.
As soon as I watched the first episode of Curb, I just couldn't stop watching it! Do it yourself, I promise you will LOVE this show!
This entire series is incredible.
I'm so glad you're starting on this.
12:55 this what dave chappelle meant in that one joke about if a man is accused of cheating but didnt do it XD
Yes! So glad you’re watching this! One of my favorite shows!

My man! I am so thrilled to see you starting this show. Can't wait to experience it with you in the new year! Great choice!
oh man you aint never seen curb? you're in a for a treat. show just keeps getting better with every season
Yes! This show is so great. I love how life's little annoyances or misunderstandings turn into major conflicts.
Yes, watching you and other reactors watching Sunny and curb now is a relief after a long day at work

Larry David is as close to a spirit animal as I can possibly get
Christmas comes early!!! Got my snacks while i shed a tear. I'm so damn excited! ❤❤❤
This show is one of the 🐐’s. Larry David is the definition of “if my inner thoughts were heard by the world”
This show is fucking amazing. Some of the best improvised dialogue in any show.
So happy you're watching Curb! One of my favorites
Forgot how strong this show started, throughout I have been very much with Larry on most stances and so am driven crazy by pretty much every guest character and my god are Jeff's parents such a pain in the ass, the lecturing and telling their son who he should and shouldn't have as a client, I now have 45% less hair

The only sitcom next to Always Sunny that hooked me from the very first episode and made me laugh from the beginning.
Great reaction! I binged this whole show earlier this year and it’s a delight! Looking forward to watching it with you!
Happy to hear!!
Early Christmas indeed! Let's gooooo!
This show is hilarious and probably the most Jewish show I've ever watched. Larry's style of self-deprecation is so amazing
Depending on what hand signs your dog knows, this comment might hit differently
Larry is right like 90% of the time but handles everything in the worst possible way
One of the funniest shows ever!!!
I haven’t watched these early ones in forever, so weird watching the show without Leon in it - such an amazing show!
"He just made a mortal enemy in like, ten minutes into this show" If this show had a tombstone, this would be engraved on it 😆
Watch the first special from before the pilot! Honestly my favorite, and you get to see larry doing standup
So stoked you’re starting this journey, bro! For my money, Curb and Always Sunny are the two funniest shows ever
In college my friends and I would look for opportunities in normal conversation to use the “It was ROTTEN!”
So glad you are doing this. Such a great show.
You are about to embark on one of the greatest comedic journeys of all time!
This is one of my favorite comedies next to Veep and Schitt’s Creek. I am so excited you are watching this!!!
Veep is also great! Man oh man, thank God for the Seinfeld show, that spawned two other monster shows....not to mention giving early roles to half the cast of Breaking Bad! 🤣
One of my all time favorite shows. And yes the lines are entirely improvised. They only went by outlines. You're gonna love the ride.
Epic show, the writing is on another level. Can’t wait to see more.
This show is perfect for you I grew up with it it’s right up your alley.
I'm so glad you're finally getting to this
Holy shit James this is gonna be awesome (and it’s so up your alley)
Instant like - fuck yes! About the authenticity, Seinfeld had this quality as well and I really like it! No laugh track, just laughing at and with real people.
I cant wait for more of these, this show is wild
This was great. Looking forward to seeing more.
“It’s spiraling”😂
Lot’s of that coming up 😂
This is the perfect series to do next. So so much gold en route 🤙
Excited you’re watching this show!! 😊

Happy to hear! I’ve been hinting it for a good bit so it’s good having it up now.
This show might be the funniest show I’ve ever watched
Sunny and now Curb? You're getting into the 2 funniest shows ever on TV
remember this is about what if a man went through life with ZERO SOCIAL GRACE
I'm British, and this is my favourite American comedy show. Larry David is a genius!
You like the office, you're gonna have a blast with this hahahah - literally my 2 favorite comedy shows!!!
PS. yes, Larry and Richard Lewis met and disliked each other at 12 at summer camp. (they were born 3 days apart in the same hospital )Met again as adults and realized they'd met each other as kids and became best friends until Richard passed away last year.
