I see so many young ladies with long, thick hair doing haircuts and I'm just older and my hair has always been fine so it never looks as thick. My hair has always been fine to, even though I'm super young I'm only 10 but my hair is Finn and I have just always wanted thick but at least my hair is very long.
I'm going to do it too! Been wanting to for a month now! I used to do this haircut all the time. I'm 50 now and I started in my teens and there have been many f&ck ups along the way 😂 but nothing could be worse than when someone else does it to you!!! Bad hairdressers and or a bad boyfriend 😶🌫️

I'm 67, and I'm trying to grow my hair long again, but I wanted to try some light layers. I only took about 3 in off mine, but the effect was wonderful. It seems much more full now. You should go for it. You don't have to take much off.

This way of doing this cut is pretty much fool proof and a great, far easier way of layering the hair without doing it by hand that can take a long time. Especially if you have long thick hair. I’ve done this on my 13 year old and it looks professionally done and she’s had it now for months so it’s grown out so I’m doing it again but MUCB shorter. This makes a huge difference in face shaping when this is done. Changes the face dramatically. Don’t be scared of the scissors. Anyone can do this!! ❤❤
I was taking care of my Mother who had Alzheimer’s. I decided to let my grey grow out but I used to be a brunette so the difference was drastic. I couldn’t deal with the roots so I buzzed it off with the the clippers! Now it’s your length n I absolutely love it. I love the freedom of not having to color it anymore. It looks gorgeous when I put a few sock curls in it. I also do that same haircut on mine. I’m a licensed cosmetologist for 40 years. I’ve been doing that cut for years on my own hair. You can do different variations of it too. I have a really high forehead so I cut a small area of bangs on mine. Your’s came out great! ✨💯💝

Not all of us get gray hair as old. I will never get grey hair as my dad got darker and even in his late 80's was without grey. I was light blond growing up and used to bleach it until I was in my 50's. Everybody thinks now I have colored my hair to become a brunette. I have even different shades from some blonde and then dark blonde to warm brunette due to some red pigments. I still miss me as blonde, but I would thankfully never have grey hair, that makes one look a lot older.
The back looks great and you definitely look good with straight and wavy hair. You are lucky. My hair doesn't curl with out a perm. No curler hot or cold works . Nice look
This cut is a great way to add layers. When I go to a salon, I can never get them to cut enough layers. This way I can do myself, as often as I need or want. My hair is naturally curly and hides small imperfections in the curls, as long as the overall cut is close. Thank you, Marty & Brad!
I hear you. I rarely go to a salon but when I do they never cut my layers deep enough. I beg for deep layers as I have a hell of a head of hair and they just feather and frey. 🤷♀️
I have such thin hair. Most stylists won’t give me layers but I’m going to reconsidering as she looks so good I don’t like short hair so I’m caught in the same dilemma of finding what might work. Thanks for posting

My menopausal hair is rotten, I'm sure I've lost about a third of it over the past couple of years, so hopefully this cut might make it appear a little thicker. No kidding. I can't get over how much hair I have lost. It is fine to begin with...but it was thick. No so much after menopause. My hair is tired looking. Just been in a put it in a ponytail rut. I might try this. Also, after way too many butch jobs by professionals, I haven't let them near my hair for years. The last chop job is finally grown out. I've been slowly trimming it up helping the crazy layers come together. This isn't an extreme cut. Can't screw it up too much.

I did the wolf cut and liked it a lot. When I started to get itchy for a cut, I did the butterfly. Also turned out good. If you follow his directions to the tee... it's going to come out good.

Just a note for those with very thick hair that haven't had hair cut for a while. Put a tiny rubber band, right above your cut line to keep hair in place. It's tougher than it looks to keep hair in place as you cut. Make sure your scissors are really sharp. Please watch your fingers. The prep is key!!!
