This was his last special before he died. He got more reflective during this one, like a dying older uncle who wanted to spill all his wisdom before his time came up.
He knew he had to let us all know before he was gone, he gave us all his best and gave us real info on who this big club is trying to do to us and now it all makes sense ,
I think George knew he was running out of time and so felt a need to clue us in. If you haven't heard it already watch "The American Dream". So much reality that you'll overdose and end up on a gurney.
George Carlin is more like a comedic professor cuz he talks about life and facts while performing his comedy. One of the best comedians ever along with Robbin Williams
Robin Williams was, even off coke, an ADD comic who COULD NEVER finish a sentence, let alone a bit, if he sensed even the SLIGHTEST bit of audience discomfort/silence. Williams has NOT EVEN ONE stand-up bit that’s coherent/sustains a pov that ANYONE remembers….LET ALONE MULTIPLE OF THEM THAT ARE TIMELESS LIKE CARLIN. FOH mentioning him in the same breath as Carlin (outside of their comparable cocaine abuse in the ‘the 70s…other than that, gtfoh…Williams is a lightweight comedic mind compared to Carlin in EVERY SENSE except for maybe moronic physical comedy/mimicry. In terms of making their audiences laugh AND think, Robin was NO MATCH for the master of the form, GC)
His little 'drop the mic' pose seen at the end was what later replaced his signature bow due to old age and earlier spinal damage. He physically couldn't lean or bow due to having a partially fused spine--hence the new pose.
@Jordan Powell Wow you are deluded. Keeping kids in cages AND forcing them to undergo surgery? And "the world" knows? Wow, you are either a conspiracy theorist or your TDS has you to such a degree that you should seek professional help. It's also kind of adorable how naive you are. The "world news" isn't biased against Trump? Please, just keep your head buried in the sand.
@Jordan Powell Sure thing. One of the things George Carlin wanted most was for people to stop being brainwashed sheep and actually question what they are being told. Thanks for being an example of why that is so important. ...."world news".....hahahahahahahahahahaha
There’s so many George Carlin bits that you should react to. Modern man, losing things (the version that’s part of his HBO special Playing With Your Head) people who oughta be killed, time, sports, baseball vs football, proud to be an American/god bless America, taking off your hat, things we say when people die, keeping people alert, and interview with Jesus. Those are just some of the many George Carlin bits that you should react to.
Great bit! Carlin’s an absolute GOAT. I hope you guys check out some full length specials of his in your free time. I love your reactions, you remind me a lot of me and my friends (10 years ago lol)
The OG of counter-culture! Now, imagine he was 71 when he did this, which was his last HBO special...now take a moment to reflex how genius this man was and to note that he died 3 months after this performance.
A similar story to how Freddie Mercury battled with AIDS for years, and then wrote, and performed, "The Show Must Go On" just a few weeks before he died.
Great reaction! You guys should react to these bits: Advertising Lullaby, Our similarities and Modern man by Carlin himself. You'll probably love them all, they are great!
Yes, exactly. You’ve heard the phrase “You’ll own nothing, and you’ll be happy”? Ha ha the joke’s on us. It already happened. Try not paying your vehicle registration. Or any of the myriad taxes. Or fees. Or tickets. We are slaves. And we’re NOT happy about it.
Love you guys! Its got to be understood that this is one of Carlins last full specials. He was dealing with a lot of health issues, and the passing of his wife of almost 30 years...he aged, but damn, he was still amazing at his craft...
George Carlin Opening to his show Life is Worth Living it explains George Carlin exactly. And in this one there's a few hilarious parts the opening. Suicide Human Behaviors and much more. Another Class Clown Stuff Driving And Parking, Job Interviews, Football vs Baseball and much more.George Carlin at Carnegie Hall Fussy Eater, breakfast , cats vs dogs and much more. Super funny these two
I think you guys would like anything from the Bill engvall "Sell him for parts" special. Some of the stuff is him living in a hospital and the First time he smoked MJ.
If you guys haven´t seen it yet, it would be cool if you could react to the movie "Dogma" by Kevin Smith. George carlin has a cameo where he plays a cardinal, if that helps spike your interest.
Carlin as a comedian: totally agree with the consensus. One of the greatest who ever did it. His observations, the way he structured his bits, his vocal cadence, gestures, his artful use of the English language, all that stuff - they were genius, hugely influential, and rightly so. Carlin as a thinker/philosopher/whatever: ehh. There's some good and some bad. His points about censorship, corruption, hypocrisy, greed etc. were all spot-on, groundbreaking, and very necessary for audiences of the '70s, '80s and early '90s to hear. But over time, as he kept getting darker and more nihilist - this started around the mid-'90s and was in full bloom by the '00s - he started making it more and more clear that he's not interested in actually finding solutions to any of the problems he talks about, and that his opinion is he finds humanity's self-destruction amusing. Now there's a fine line between being an intelligent social commentator who asks uncomfortable questions vs. a trying-too-hard edgelord, and I just can't go that far down the rabbit hole with him. I'm never gonna say let's give up hope and let's not even bother trying to clean up the mess. At one point he literally adopted "Fuck Hope" as a sort of slogan for himself - you hear those words pop up in some of his mid to late '90s routines, and he goes deeper into the whole thing in one of his books, I can't remember which. I mean, he was getting older by that time and maybe he knew he wouldn't live long enough to see what the end result of giving up hope looks like. But shit, I'm only 39. I've still got half my life left. I don't want to die in that kind of world if I can help it. Also, the personality cult that's developed around him on social media gives me pause, with quotes from some of his bits that get taken out of context and go viral. You especially see a lot of the Alex Jones/InfoWars people, the QAnon people, and those types worshiping Carlin and reposting his stuff. I think if he were alive today, he would probably have been smart enough to warn his audience away from all that. But I do think it's tragically ironic that his core message was that people should question authority and shouldn't blindly believe everything people in power say, and yet today his fans are the ones who don't question HIS authority and blindly believe everything HE said. I wonder if 2020 Carlin would have been calling people out for that. I like to think he would, but on the other hand, comedy is how he pays his bills and these are the people buying the tickets, so who knows.
George always questioned organized religion. I have been a Christian for over 50 years and I totally agree with him. When Jesus comes again.....He will destroy all the churches we made up. Wherever any two people gather in My name, there I will build my church. Someone is losing ground....could it be us?
I wonder what I would do if called to testify in court. Would I tell them I don't believe the Bible or would I just go along? If I tell them, what would they do?
Hmm, that gets tricky. I don’t really know, never had the chance to try it. I’m sure someone in the comments has. The state doesn’t like sheep who veer off the accepted narrative. It would be interesting, I’m sure.
He died 1 week after this special! 😢 But did he really? Or did he get dead (murdered) because the amount of uncomfortable truths he was spitting had MLK Jr., JFK and probably also Bob killed before him! Here's some food for thought for you!
See if the majority of society had any common sense and thought sensibly, this channel would have 4.11 *_million_* subscribers instead of *_4110_* subscribers.
this was his last stand up before he died in 2008 . like you 3 noticed its funny , but not, how exactly what he says is still going on today . not much progress for Americans is there
The drunk person killing the girlfriends parents bit means this. Arguments get heated, especially when you've been drinking. The situation escalates and madness takes over. It's pretty self explanatory.
Towards the 2000's he started getting overblown and preachy. Great comedian, horrible philosopher. Problem being his pseudo-philosophy is so easy to understand and digest that idiots take it as gospel, not understanding that he is a comedian doing a bit.

"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful."
-Seneca The Younger (ca. 4 BC -AD 65)
I had the pleasure of seeing Carlin live, front row seats. He was a beast. Offended a couple so bad they threw their tickets on the stage.
I think George knew he was running out of time and so felt a need to
clue us in. If you haven't heard it already watch "The American Dream".
So much reality that you'll overdose and end up on a gurney.
Lewis Maddox - one of, if not my favorite, George Carlin bits. So much real truth that needs to be heard in that bit
He literally died like right after this.
I'm utterly thrilled Millennials are meeting George. In my opinion, Carlin should be taught in schools. Cheers from Downunder in Australia. 🌅
One of my favorite lines “the last refuge of a man with no answers and no argument it, it came from god”
I'm definitely going to use that quote, it's so eloquently put.
Aye
Thank you guys for continuing down the carlin road!
Carlin is always on point. In 40 years from now (if we're still around) his stuff will be studied right along with Socrates.
THE GREATEST STAND UP COMEDIAN OF ALL TIME!!!!
IMHO
Agreed
George Carlin is more like a comedic professor cuz he talks about life and facts while performing his comedy. One of the best comedians ever along with Robbin Williams

At this point in time I get sometimes emotional when it see or here george carlin, cause at this point in time i think get could use his comedy now.
George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu in the original Star Trek series in the 60's, lived through 4 years of those internment camps with his parents.

There’s an internment camp from back then in Northern Colorado
