My late wife and myself loved Kos. Many , many years ago we visited Therma, where hot water flowed from into the sea. a long walk down from the bus stop. There was a rock pool where the hot water went. sometimes the pool was very pleasant, sometimes it was boiling.. i would love to go back one day. 😁
Hi Derek, Kos is truly full of wonderful areas isn't it! Therma Beach was definitely a nice one right next to the cliffs, although we didn't try the water - we might have to go back too, I think ☺️
@@fitritaslim9766 There is so much to see and do, the busses are frequent and cheap. You can get a ferry from Mastichari to Kalimnos for a great day out. The Asklepion is a nice day out.
@@Smith6265 From May 1, Greece has abolished the need to show proof of vaccination or Covid recovery on entering the country, so everyone with valid travel documents should be eligible to visit.
Do NOT hire a buggy, quad or ATV. This is the number one cause of accidents and hospitalisations on the island. The hospital is ill-equipped for emergencies! Most travel insurance does not cover you for this activity and roads in Kos can be hazardous outside of town for visitors. On a positive note, don't miss the Tigaki Salt Lake (in quieter months there are flamingos), visit Agios Stefanos in Kefalos and swim to the island of Kastri for your mamma mia moment. Neighbouring Nisyros island is a geothermal volcano where you can walk the crater and explore the mountain villages. Take a bus or car to the natural thermal springs 10 mins drive out of Kos Town. Hiring bicycles is one of the top things to do in Kos due to it's bike friendly cycle paths and coastal roads. There is a ferry running again after covid restrictions to Bodrum from the harbour or join one of the weekly one day boat trips to other nearby islands in the Summer. Horseriding schools in Mamari offer sunset rides or experienced riders to swim with them on the beach. In Kos town there is a mini train which tours the local archaeological sites with a short audio tour - visit Casa Romana next to the Odeon, the Ancient Agora and many more on the town's walking map. If you are taking a car, don't miss the abandoned villages in the mountains from the Byzantine periods like Paleo Pyli. Sports enthusiasts can also hike from Zia to the top of Mt Dikios or one of the many nature trails through the pines/cypress forests. There really is something for everyone in Kos!
Hello! Thank you for the video and tips! My wife and I are excited to visit it soon. One question? Do I need a motorcycle license to rent one? Or a car licenses is enough?
Hi, I booked to visit Kos in September will I be safe in my own? I’m on a spiritual journey but I’m nervous now hence why I’m watching videos. Looks beautiful ❤
Hi Lucas, we found Kos to be very safe as it makes a popular travel destination. Nevertheless, we always recommend to keep an eye on your belongings and to trust your gut if a situation doesn't feel right. Wishing you lots of fun on your journey!
Be carefful with ship, one serbian man was died in Blue Star II ship before one month. Police suppose that he was killed and also 3 persons in the past 2 years also was killed on this ship. Take care not to go with this ship.
We paid 80€/day for a nice polaris dune buggy and 25€/day for small a very small atv. A decent sized atv suitable for larger roads would be about 40-50€/day - this is probably the best option!
Thx for the infomative video! Me and my family will go to Kos next month the first time ever in greece also. We in Lambi What is a great shop where we can rent a ATV or scooter ? What would you recomend?
It depends what you are looking for! Kos Town has more options for restaurants, nightlife, and archeology. Kardamena is nicely situated behind the mountain and is a bit more relaxed. Hope this helps!
Mastichari, fairly central, a good cheap bus service all over the island, lots of wonderful restaurants, with a view of the sea, and people watching. A ferry to Kalymnos island, a wonderful day out. car and scooter hire, and lots lots more. 😁
I lived on Kos for 15 years and loved every minute of it.
We can see why! 😁

We rented it from kosmoto.gr/

Just an FYI the castle isn’t ancient, it’s no where near that old. It’s Middle Ages. 14th century is not considered ancient
About a thousand years after the cut off for ancient which is 500ad and the start is 3000bc but still worth seeing
