There are not so many people in my lovely Russian Federation who knows Jerry Lewis. But I am a great fan of American comedy films and Lewis's in particular. Reading biography of this actor I've found that he is Russian Jew. He just looks like our "shapito" clown. Our culture and humor have much in common with American. Same jokes, same memes. That's why we like such actors as Jerry.
What a complex life - so many good things and trapped with so much ego and self-hatred. Rest in Peace Jerry and my greatest hope is that the kids all come together to remember the good parts - they seem like such good kids in reality.

Yes, he was Russian on his mom's side( his mom's maiden name was Brodsky), but he was also Polish, his paternal grandparents were Polish Jews.
