I love how you integrate your interviews with said pitchers (Miller, Shane) it’s opened me up to another side of your content and made me begin to go and look for these interviews to watch
shane mclanahan fo show. And its even better because he throws 100 mph! Alcantara throws 3 digis, but mclanahan's has the movement and the stats on his side
I disagree, changeups with tons of late movement are both way cooler and, technically, better. Shane's changeup is so effective not due to that pitch itself, but due to how brutal his fastball is an how hitters are so worried about it. I mean, that kind of makes it good but if he only threw changeups that would be a bad changeup. Whereas other pitchers have changeups that basically stand on their own as a very difficult pitch to hit. If that makes sense.
Lol I bet he felt great after puking up that Gatorade at the end 😂 I've had that happen a few times. If I get overheated from working in a hot room with low oxygen, I'll overdrink and puke. Like in an attic or loading a uhaul. I guess he was having heat issues who knows 🤔
Sonny Gray doesn't get enough love for his changeup, he doesn't throw it a lot but opponents are hitting .091 according to Baseball Savant. The few I've seen have insane movement and break. Boy did the Pirates need Mitch Kellers performance after getting swept back to back. Keller is super legit.
Can someone remind me who was the pitcher with the crazy short arm windup where he holds the ball almost against his chest? He was featured in one of these videos but I can't remember which.
Yeah I like a changeup with tons of late break. Shane's changeup is devastating mostly because his fastball is brutal and hitters are terrified of missing the fastball.
@@PlaySA How is that not the same for Castillo then when he throws a 4seam and sinker in the high 90s touching 100? Be consistent if you’re going to say the same for Shane
Since Cease got taken of the game yesterday I was waiting for this to see how Ninja was about to react. I am mind blown with his performance this far in the season...not injured...same nasty stuff...so disappointed.
I don't think Shane's changeup is necessarily the best. It's very straight. It's effective because of how effective his fastball is, in my humble opinion. Whereas other pitchers have changeups that kind of stand on their own as a very tough pitch to hit. Alcantara's and Castillo's hard changeups are somewhat better imo. But, the BEST changeup is Devin Williams' airbender. I don't care about the stats, that pitch is otherworldly.
The question was which starter has the best changeup, and I know you said it but stats do not like Williams’ changeup as much as movement does. He throws it heart of the zone a lot, and in the dirt a lot. Also, what game are you watching that Shane’s changeup is straight?

I legitimately laughed hard at the “untouchable pitch timer violation” comment and the fact the pitcher just casually starts walking off the field.
shane mclanahan fo show. And its even better because he throws 100 mph! Alcantara throws 3 digis, but mclanahan's has the movement and the stats on his side
McClanahan definitely has the best changeup of any starter. Also some beautifully painted fastballs yesterday.

Cease gets an extra 3 inches of movement when he wears the black uniforms, they just need to coordinate them with his starts
3 inches is a lot so they should definitely consider that
Makes you wonder if that’s just from the extra sweat from the extra heat the color black draws

Huge Rays fan. I adore Mcclanahan's change up. Throw it outside on righties and hitters are done.

I'll tell you what. He doesn't throw it much, but Bryce Miller's changeup is insane. He just doesn't throw it because nobody can hit the fastball
The degree to which Gilbert looks like a young Dirk Nowitzki is unsettling. He may want to look into that.

The late break on Shane's change is wicked - he breaks hitters hearts who think his fastball or that slow curve is coming.
No trail on Amir's spitter? It had some movement 🤣
