Overall what you think of the Mangura T7? I also want to get them myself. I love the color. I feel that the Tektro Orion lacks power. My fingers get tired of squeezing so hard on the levers. Do you feel the mangura are very sensitive?
The MT7 are a top of the line brakes they land somewhere in most professional riders top 3 almost 90% of the time. These brakes are incredible. The pad compounds that you run make all the difference and will change the power and capabilities of the brake tremendously. I run the racing pad compound by magura cause of my long days at the park. The braking power is as good as hope or dominion or shimano XTR. The racing compound has a really nice bite even when hot less brake fade during long braking conditions and quick cooling for better refresh rate. My favorite thing about the magura brakes is the levers the return is so snappy and smooth. When compared to a shimano lever the return to your fingers is so much faster with less resistance. This allows for faster engagement and smooth modulation. The down side of magura brakes is the master cylinder is made of plastic. Maybe they do this to cut cost of production and a little weight but it makes the structure weaker then other competitors that have full aluminum master cylinder and levers. Me personally it took me 2 season at the bike park to break one. A good crash even with the brake clamp loose on the handlebar will break them. For this reason I'm looking at dominion brakes in the future.
Hey great video, and cool bike! I've got the same 2021 T7 27.5 and just blew the seals on the Recon fork too. Looking for a fork upgrade. Sounds like you increased from 150 to 160mm travel. Did you keep the same 37mm offset on the front fork? There are limited options available with that offset, so wondering of there is big difference if it changes. Thanks!
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you! If your still looking the offset has really no noticeable effect. Unless you have been riding bikes your entire life and are really dialed in on what exactly every little thing on your bike is doing you won't notice a difference in offset trust me!! It is possible a 44⁰ offset will give you slightly better cornering on steep climbs and tight terrain.
Great vid! Thanks for info. Did you add chain guard? Can you share some info on it? I am looking for something - I scratched the chain/plate a few times. I'd like to avoid terminal damage...
Now that youve upgraded that stuff i wonder what you would think of the t8 and other higher tier polygons? Would any of them have been a btter choice knowing what you know now?
I really wanted the N7 or N8 I just couldn't afford it at the time and they weren't available in my size. I think I still would have changed a lot of components but either way would have been happy with my purchase. The game changer for me was the suspension so If I had really good suspension to begin with I could have spent the money on other high end components that the N7 or N8 was lacking.
Great upgrades! I upgraded a lot of similar stuff on my T7 like the cockpit, etc. About to upgrade the wheels and drivetrain groupset myself. I'm also about to buy a rear 4-piston brake since I hit bike parks. How are the DVO's shocks doing for you? That's a pricey upgrade I considered but figured I'd wait till I really abuse the ones it came with.
Thanks man the suspension makes this feel like a different bike! I'd definitely get rid of the TRP brakes completely and go with some 4 piston brakes front and back you wont have enough stopping power if you stick with the stock TRP. I definitely waited until my fork was blown out to get my suspension and also got the fork 25% off.

I am 5'10" too. About to order the T7. Di you think you should have went with the large? Bikes on line they told me a to go with a large. They even verified that with an email.
Really depends on the riding style you are going for. For most people a large is going to be the way to go. I like to jump whip and throw my bike around on the trail. I like a little smaller bike for that reason, I compromise other things so I can have a more playful feeling bike.
I put a wolf tooth lower fork riser on my gfs bike, only problem for her is that she thinks she slide forward on the bike, thinking if sadel geo maybe. Maybe i must put a higher bar like you did, she is 158 on a small 27,5. And i am thinking on shorter cranks but there no real short shimano, so it will cost too. What do you think just about sadel geo?
i went with the 4pot shimano deore xt front and rear and i guess they're better than stock, although i was considering them mt7 brakes but i was a bit sceptical about the plastic levers that had many reports of snapping
The levers themselves are aluminum the only plastic is the cylinder covers and they have held up nicely so far! I have crashed multiple times on big jumps went over the bars practicing endos on concrete and never had any issues. The thing I like the most about them over all shimano brakes is how snappy they are. They return to your finger really quick and have no drag on the lever when released.

Quick question, what/how did you fix the crank arm issue? Mine has dropped off on me 3 times now. Not fun walking it back versus riding. Nice video BTW.
I replaced the end cap with a longer threaded one. Then I cleaned the splines they were covered grease. After cleaning I completely removed bolts and applied fresh lock tight. I ignored the torque spec and tightened them until the gap stopped getting smaller. You can feel when it's tight. Use a basic Allen key to get a better feel. Hope that helps.
