I just picked up a Alps Outdoorz Hybrid X that I'm excited to use this year. What I like about it is the meat rack is separate from the bag. When you load up meat, just removed the bag, load the meat on the shelf, and put the bag back on. Then when you get to the truck, drop the meat and drop the bag and you can just use the frame for a second trip. AND everything is included, like a rifle holder, rain cover, and pockets on the waist band. I'm not sure how it's durability is, but all the sowing appears to be top notch. Double stitching on all the important spots.
Great overview of some really great 1-3 day packs. I was actually thinking of getting the MR Pop Up 28 or 38 for an overnight bag for my trip out west, but also as a pack that I can use with my tree saddle gear here in the East and be able to pack out a whitetail deer 🦌 out of some nasty steep areas here in West Virginia.
Thank you Trail & Chris for sharing this great information with us. The hip belt sounds the best on the MR. I'm leaning towards the MR. Great Job guys God's Blessings

I think another good pack to add would be the mystery ranch pintler.
Agreed, the Pinter is a nice size with a well designed zipper system. Also comes on the guide light mt frame. Solid choice for day hunting

I bought a MR pop up 38 at the end of last year. Looking forward to using it on scouting trips and hopefully a deer and antelope hunt this year.
So your saying the sawtooth frame is stronger again then the pop up frame hey?
At only a half pound difference why would I buy the Sawtooth over the Metcalf.
Kuiu pro 3600 best pack pack around.
Probably great packs but you have to include some Exo packs....too good to ignore.
Need camo, non-camo sticks out
Camo is overrated
