The reason cars where going down the one way road regardless of the old town policy is because, policies do not affect highway roads, that includes off/on ramps.
I see a perfect map for dams! It would be interesting to see if you could make a dam and have people actually use the dam as a road/ bridge! Thumbs up for dam power!!!
I don't like the way that you do train lines. I think that you should make them more discreet and not tear right through districts. Please use more tunnels :)
it's more realistic the way James does it. Trains don't just randomly tunnel. Mostly they will just go as straight as possible and straight through the town
+Desert Trooper have you been to Australia? I can assure you that Trains very much go through our towns and cities. So why don't you "Wake Up" Mate, not everywhere is exactly the same and since James is Australian he's going to build things in the style he knows.
+Desert Trooper thats not 100% true mate. My local high street has a level crossing right in the middle of it. The train line just cuts right through the town. Its very common in England because the railway lines were put it before the towns and the fact that a town had a train station meant that housing expanded around it
I would recommend not to use the anarchy mod, at least VERY limited. It often breaks roads making then non functional. That is what happened to the road under the bridge. Also random zone tiles can show up weird places, like in the middle of a road.
+kaare1992 yeah hes kind of using them too wildly. Also the no pillars mod. Like, avoid forced zoning pretty much all the time, because that screws up games too. And also making bridges with floating on annoys me, because its like cutting corners for no reason
***** Yup exactly. My main city in my old save has zoning tiles all over the places, and completely messed up my city, to the point where starting a new city is the only solution. I don't want that to happen with this series :(
it's nice to get away from family for a while to watch this honestly :> christmas is fun and all but hobestly i'm sOo tired so i'm just gonna watch some youtube videos lol
Couple suggestions, get the recycling plants back, no pollution and pick up more. At the main entrance interchange, large roundabouts are good for traffic especially with the motorway one that goes over the roundabout. Love all 3 seasons of this though. Great work
love the series , heres a asset for your power lines problem- its called Actually Underground Power Cables , and theres an asset also for underwater , its called 1x1 invisible underwater power line
I don't know if anyone has mentioned that already but, fun fact, that elevated double track station saying "Alexanderplatz" on the side is a replica of the actual train station in Berlin, Germany.
Add little roundabouts at the top of the on/off ramps and perhaps make the train line go under the intersection. Thats all the feedback i can say so far everything else seems to work great nice work man
Maybe build a dam at the the river on the left side of Anchor Heights, build it as low (height of the dam) as possible, because it starts working good if the water stands against the top of the dam.
33:38 is a Dutch Train hahaha, was actually suprised to see that, it's called a ''Sprinter'', it goes from station to station (doesn't skip 1 station on it's route), and the Intercity's, also known as the ''high speed'' trains, go from city to city.. Our normal colour scheme of the NS (stands for Dutch Railways) is Yellow and Blue, but the sprinters are White and Blue (with yellow doors).. Quite cool to see! :)
bending will make bridges and elevated roads/train lines look funky. You can actually dip a bridge into the watter with bending on..if you want to.I mainly keep the bending off whenever I do something elevated. Anarchy is luckily not affecting elevated constructions that way.
+flabaliki hey flabs, I think cars are driving thru hickory park because the Old Town policy does'nt effect the road. It's a highway and you can't normally zone on them... Oh and btw the cargo station does work I tried it out myself! Awesome vid!
Build a small town in the outskirts of the city and when the city it's big enough they will connect and keep growing each city. Like have a city with low education and have a city with high education. Each city can have it own little downtown area where there's some tall buildings. I think it would be cool for two cities to grow together and merge to a big city together.
If you made "flabhattan" European, you will have max high density population but low height building and it would look good between the suburbs and the main part of the city
You can place the train lines between the highways like between the two opposite directions of a highway I think that would look neat and planned. And you could line the sides with trees it would look cool :)
On the island make it a super green urban theme encourage biking and high tech homes lots of greenery too! Then give the island like a like a green name like Viridian Isle
If nobody has told you in one of the episodes after this, one of the reasons that you aren't getting much traffic to the terminal is because the trains can only come off of the track in one way. Also, the previous cargo station does work.
You should make a dam across the river/stream when you get enough money, It will also probably save you money when coming to the Wind Turbines, which make a top most 8MW, and a Dam can make ALOT more than that! (Just don't flood the city)
i honestly didnt ever bother watching flab play this cuz i figured he would just play it like everybody else, but i was bored and clicked on season 3, i am actually satisfied with flabs playstyle of this, and to top it off, he actually is realistic bout trains, and isnt afraid of level crossings, im assuming flab isnt really into trains and with that, his tracks look decent, good job, and thank you.
if you keep your regional cargo line separate from your domestic cargo, you will stop the clogging up on your cargo lines. I built a small looped terminal area to swap cargo between regional and domestic stations
The city is looking great. I wonder though about that train connection... If you provide a train connection that allows cargo to arrive/depart from/to only one side of the map does that mean cargo that wants to go out the other side of the map will stay truck based? The train connection you made only points in one direction, if you know what i mean.
You should do one exit/entrance ONLY for industrial traffic and one exit/entrance ONLY for residential so the traffic is not all meeting in one place but rather stays separate the whole time.
The cargo station is the way it is because it is faster for trucks to get to places by using roads still. Until it is faster to use trains, trucks will still use the roads
Hey James , I have a suggestion. Maybe you should try artery roads (main roads)? I haven't logged a lot of hours into this game, but maybe its worth a try! Instead of a bunch of smaller roads it might help with traffic , with the help of lane control of course!
You should connect train tracks more and not have 1 train track for just 1 train but for example 2 train tracks for 5 trains. This way it would not cost so much space if you are building train tracks in cities. But it can branch of course to other cities or if you have bigger stations.
Maybe connect the new cargo train line to the main cargo train line in the other direction as well. That way the trains can go both ways after leaving the industrial area and crossing the river.
We still have clippos in england in orange and tropical flavour and last summer we had a bubblegum flavour one! However they are not as popular as they used to be 😢 Tropical is my favourite! I went to germany once and had a cola flavoured one as well
Why wouldn't there be more terrain types? The next expansion is going to add weather effects for snow. There are mods for different terrains such as deserts but that means replacing the original game.
Damn, wish I was here earlier, would have suggested keeping the island European themed, making it seem like the old colonial section of the town, since the name is Jamestown and I was thinking about the British colony Jamestown, Virginia.
Flabaliki I really like your city and I hope you keep uploding episodes. Cities skylines is your best series! You should make some mountain cities! Hope you read this and please answear!
New to your stream and a great fan of the 'sunken' train stations, so if you have time, look for them in the work shop. Hope you enjoy them just as i do. ;) Also you do know it takes some time for cargo stations to work ?
Please don't use those 1 lane roads everywhere. Also when your building roads, if you've got two long vertical roads, don't add another long vertical road in the middle to create tiny and narrow zoning's... it looks silly!!! Just put a few horizontal roads! So it looks more realistic! Great episode too!
For assets: 1. The (Olympic) swimming pool by NGON 2. The underground train stations by Boformer 3. The elevated train stations above ground and above roads by Boformer Vehicles: 1. All kinds of planes :) 2. The Øresundståg 6-car trains
to fix the ugly crosswalks when you build sharp angles with anarchy mode on (20:28) , you should get the mod that changes the crosswalks into pretty much two parallel lines, idk how to explain it, just search on youtube or google "cities skylines - american roads" and you'll see
Name for the island district: Flabhattan
like
I was thinking the same thing!
Good Very Good
yeesss
+Popdog I was thinking Jameshattan but Flabhattan is better!
I keep looking at the bird at the top that keeps stretching out when he turns the mod on.. xD
birb***
lol
sadly its changed now :(
to a birb on fire!
The island should be called New Pork City, seeing as you've got Pork Flats nearby :D
Traffic ban doesn't work on highways / ramps! That's way people are still using it!
I don't like the way that you do train lines. I think that you should make them more discreet and not tear right through districts. Please use more tunnels :)
Tunnels are boring, I'll only use them when I have to
it's more realistic the way James does it. Trains don't just randomly tunnel. Mostly they will just go as straight as possible and straight through the town

+Desert Trooper i guess in cities it wont happen, but in towns and villages it sure does.
Dutch trains! Yeah!
Eindelijk iets Nederlands XD
+Floris Kuck haha. je hebt gelijk! eindelijk iets Nederlands :)
YEAH DUTCH TRAINS
NEDERLND O NEDERLAND
Fucking floris ;)
"Oh no that road doesn't look good" "oh that looks weird" "that's strange looking" haha loving the series tho
The BEST cities S serie is back... good workas usual Flabaki
Paradox is probably my favorite game developing company. I love all of their grand strategy games, and this one is great too. You swedes rock 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
looking up videos on skylines before i buy it, and im addicted to this now. well deserved sub mate.
Just so you know, watching your videos encouraged me to go out and purchase this game.
When that train came by around 33:35 I was screaming! Thats a train used in my country it even has the logo on it. 😂
I would recommend not to use the anarchy mod, at least VERY limited. It often breaks roads making then non functional. That is what happened to the road under the bridge. Also random zone tiles can show up weird places, like in the middle of a road.

Awesome series, but what did I expect from you ofc :P
Btw merry christmas as I think it's already christmas down under haha :)
Thats all the feedback i can say so far everything else seems to work great nice work man
I liked the trains underground better

From England, it's recently turned 25th so merry Christmas. This is how I'm spending Christmas Eve. Wow.
33:38 is a Dutch Train hahaha, was actually suprised to see that, it's called a ''Sprinter'', it goes from station to station (doesn't skip 1 station on it's route), and the Intercity's, also known as the ''high speed'' trains, go from city to city.. I live in Holland. The train is a Dutch sprinter. your city is looking very nice!
Just subscribed to you keep up the good work man!
Name the Island "Aluna Island"!
at the beginning of the video, why did the chirp have a messed up aspect ratio on the top?
+Nicholas M it's because of the mod, the mod that allows sharp turns, when he enables the mod, the chirp stretches
yes i know, this is what i was trying to say
you don't say...
koop z shut up kid
I like watching your skylines videos because you play it completely different than I do.
Build a small town in the outskirts of the city and when the city it's big enough they will connect and keep growing each city. Like have a city with low education and have a city with high education. Each city can have it own little downtown area where there's some tall buildings. YES YES YES YES I LOVE THIS SERIES OF CITIES SKYLINES
If you made "flabhattan" European, you will have max high density population but low height building and it would look good between the suburbs and the main part of the city
No
You can place the train lines between the highways like between the two opposite directions of a highway I think that would look neat and planned. And you could line the sides with trees it would look cool :)
flab, remove the houses in the farm industry because they cause huge noise and the residents living there will get sick, btw awesome video :)
Watching this has tempted me to play with the european road directions just so i can wrap my head around what goes where.
On the island make it a super green urban theme encourage biking and high tech homes lots of greenery too! Then give the island like a like a green name like Viridian Isle
Make public transport super accessible and make one way roads throughout the island
Yay a new episode!!!
Why not turn My Park into Avant Point and Hickory Park into Avant Hill?
i honestly didnt ever bother watching flab play this cuz i figured he would just play it like everybody else, but i was bored and clicked on season 3, i am actually satisfied with flabs playstyle of this, and to top it off, he actually is realistic bout trains, and isnt afraid of level crossings, im assuming flab isnt really into trains and with that, his tracks look decent, good job, and thank you.
They are driving on that road because it's a highway and district policies don't effect highways 😉. Love this series
James you should put more parks and paths in your town
Use the Dvosovilas Panorama Train to go by the mountain, as it normally is used for mountain transport in Switzerland.
The old town policy doesn't effect highways. And the ramps are "highways"
I think the best way to make the train tracks work, you should make them tunnel under the highway instead of bridging over.
if you keep your regional cargo line separate from your domestic cargo, you will stop the clogging up on your cargo lines. I built a small looped terminal area to swap cargo between regional and domestic stations
your city reminds me of japan
no reason behind it but the single roads with houses just reminds me of it
hey james there are some nice recyclingplants on the steamworkshop, you know for a green city
to get zoning under the bridge: first delete the bridge and build the underneath road then rebuild the bridge using overlap ;)
You should put some of those fishing docks and restruant peirs off of the "Manhattan" island
Please connect your train line the other direction! Its driving me nuts!
The city is looking great. I wonder though about that train connection...
If you provide a train connection that allows cargo to arrive/depart from/to only one side of the map does that mean cargo that wants to go out the other side of the map will stay truck based? The train connection you made only points in one direction, if you know what i mean.
Put a dam where the bridge goes to the island.
You should name the island Pear Island, because the roads you've made are in the shape of a pear. And it's the first thing I thought of when I saw it!
Merry Christmas, Flabaliki!
FLABS, please make the middle island have skyscrapers, it would remind me of Manhattan and I think it would look really cool
You should do one exit/entrance ONLY for industrial traffic and one exit/entrance ONLY for residential so the traffic is not all meeting in one place but rather stays separate the whole time.
maybe a little late, but the trains at 33.42 really looks like the dutch trains 😂
What about doing the other si de of the island los residencial? It seems a good idea
The cargo station is the way it is because it is faster for trucks to get to places by using roads still. Until it is faster to use trains, trucks will still use the roads
Love you're vids you inspired me thanks dude
Hey James , I have a suggestion.
Maybe you should try artery roads (main roads)? I haven't logged a lot of hours into this game, but maybe its worth a try! Instead of a bunch of smaller roads it might help with traffic , with the help of lane control of course!
Merry Christmas from Austria :)
Can you please make that little island just skyscrapers, it would lokk a bit crazy, but AWESOME!
Can you. Please learn to spell.
Oh yeahhh, the city Is named after me :D
You should connect train tracks more and not have 1 train track for just 1 train but for example 2 train tracks for 5 trains. This way it would not cost so much space if you are building train tracks in cities.
But it can branch of course to other cities or if you have bigger stations.
Maybe connect the new cargo train line to the main cargo train line in the other direction as well. That way the trains can go both ways after leaving the industrial area and crossing the river.
Your full of joy today
We still have clippos in england in orange and tropical flavour and last summer we had a bubblegum flavour one! However they are not as popular as they used to be 😢 Tropical is my favourite! I went to germany once and had a cola flavoured one as well

Name that island "Trident County ". 👍
Damn, wish I was here earlier, would have suggested keeping the island European themed, making it seem like the old colonial section of the town, since the name is Jamestown and I was thinking about the British colony Jamestown, Virginia.
That island district should be called Flabahattan or Turd Island 2.
Flabaliki I really like your city and I hope you keep uploding episodes. Cities skylines is your best series! You should make some mountain cities! Hope you read this and please answear!
New to your stream and a great fan of the 'sunken' train stations, so if you have time, look for them in the work shop. Hope you enjoy them just as i do. ;)

The traffic are killing me! xD

Just put a few horizontal roads! So it looks more realistic! Great episode too!
disable the free smoke detectors to make lots more money
Do Dam above this city, there is a perfect spot for it!
Did you add that one way train mod: that would be useful for cargo trains not jamming up
Get the La Hacienda and Saturn Electronic Market assets from the Steam Workshop.
For assets:
1. The (Olympic) swimming pool by NGON
2. The underground train stations by Boformer
3. The elevated train stations above ground and above roads by Boformer
Vehicles:
1. All kinds of planes :)
2. The Øresundståg 6-car trains
When in doubt, leave it out James!
I love this game
I'm not sure if it matters but you forgot to attach the Cargo line so that the trains can go and come from and to the west...
you can still get Callipos James. i had some earlier today
you can make the island a tourist district and have a cruise harbor
awe i liked the loopy loop :( name the island apartment island? please??
to fix the ugly crosswalks when you build sharp angles with anarchy mode on (20:28) , you should get the mod that changes the crosswalks into pretty much two parallel lines, idk how to explain it, just search on youtube or google "cities skylines - american roads" and you'll see
this is so damn entertaining
The policy of "Old Town" doesn't work on highways as far as I know. That's why when you use force zoning it doesn't apply the policy to the road.
Why not tunnel the trainline again? smashing it straight through the suburb look a little dodgy
If that one lane road is a highway that's probably why the Old City Policy isn't working, because traffic policies don't affect highways
He is really good at building :3
Great video!
