When i first saw KB I was not prepared. I nearly pissed myself. I had to keep most of my laughter down to silent shaking because the crowd was not picking up what she was laying down. She’s a queen, glad to see her coming up
She’s def got a natural talent and such a specific flavor or niche that only she could pull off

I also came from the podcast and frankly enjoyed the podcast more than this clip. My thoughts, "yes, this is true about a generation, and true about what comedians do", but it didn't seem... funny. What is there about other comedic truisms that I find funny? It's likely more about a collective social anxiety, and the relief of laughter "whew - I'm glad I'm not the only person who has these feelings." Perhaps there is a generation or type of childhood that relates to this portrayal of indulgence, or we can just call it mental/ performance "art" and not my type of "art".
Kate Berlant is a genius and one of the funniest people working in comedy. To really get her, you need to have some familiarity with the discourses of self help, therapy, pop philosophy, feminist theory, new age, social science, junk science, multilevel marketing, life coaching, etc.
If you’re not fascinated with those ways of constructing identity and power, you might enjoy Carrot Top.

Lady you gotta chill out a little bit. Went through 8 different topics in 5 minutes. None of the punchlines hit. The setups were not there. I mean "Come on out kids....just kidding I don't have kids." That's probably the laziest stand up joke I've ever heard. Don't understand how people could find this funny unless you're 12 years old
