The tension in this movie is unreal. The whole border scene buildup is masterfully done. And the cinematography. That shot when they're walking into the darkness of dusk. Man..
the soundtrack is done perfectly to coincide with the constant building tension and intensity to the growing operation/ situation.
The shot of them walking into darkness is terrifying in its own right. True monsters really do lurk in the dark.
I love the shot, but they ripped off Platoon. Steal from the best.
Have too watch the blood in blood out
@@Purple_Buffalo Not really, this shot actually serves the story, you have the black ops team literally disappearing into the black where they operate. I love Platoon but Roger Deakins and Villenue are on a whole different level.
Fun fact: the torture scene where they were supposed to waterboard didn’t happen. What actually happened was when the guy with the gallon of water didn’t use it. Him standing close to the guy represented dominance, meaning the person being tortured was about to get penetrated. So that’s what actually happened. 14:36
Good stuff as always guys! The word sounds like depp-thhh depth in case of future comments that are mean, keep up the great and honest reactions
an eye for an eye!
In this movie Benicio is one of the strangest main characters in a film. Because you don't even realize he's the main character until the last act, this was his revenge story.
I guess in a way the movie deceives you like Emily Blunt is deceived and doesn't realize what's really going on until the end.
Yep. Emily Blunt is the audience-insert character, and mostly just along for the ride.
It’s really clever. He’s not even in the movie for the first 15-20 minutes…and it’s kind of up to you at the end to decide whether he’s the good guy, or the bad guy!
One of the darkest and most brutal and realistic action movies ever made!
Hands down best Mexico Cartel American relationship movie out there
A Legendary revenge story too
Truth
@@bdawg5855 You can sense the love between them; the valuing of human life. It makes you all mushy inside.
I think I would add apocolypto
You guys should take note of the director Denis Villeneuve. He's also from Montreal and killing it in Hollywood right now. Everything he touches he elevates... Incendies, Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and Dune, he's on a legendary run right now.
We can all agree that the dinner table scene was just 😱😱🔥🔥🔥
Saw this movie with very little knowledge when it first came out. This one hits hard. Stunned silence from all the other theater goers.
a lot of people didn't like the 2nd movie but i think its definitely worth a watch
2nd one suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked
35:00 his reaction was real...cause he didn't know that was going to happen... they didn't tell him bout that part of the script... only the woman kids and Benicio knew bout it
“Para mi, si.” Gives me chills every time.
Sí*
"Si" without the accent means "if" in Spanish.
Awesome movie!
Also I believe that Alejandro brought the water jug with him to make the guard believe he was waterboarding the target rather than doing more harmful things.
What guard?
It’s called forced fellation
Not sure if it's shown in this reaction or not, but in the movie there is a guard in military fatigues standing outside the interrogation room door. Alejandro walks past him with the jug. @@juniegyllenhaal3937
You guys would really like The Kingdom with Jamie Foxx. He plays an FBI agent investigating a bombing in Saudi Arabia. It's an underrated film.
"Rolling an orange?"
"It makes it taste better."
"REALLY?!?!?!?!!?"
"Nope."
Omg inwas xpecting this so much what christmas gift
Who was Kate going to tell? Her Boss, who told her that everything was legal? The only American law broken was when Kate re-entered the US through the tunnel instead of a Port of Entry.
No parent should see their kids die so it was payback😢
Sicario? slow? it keeps you at the end of your seat from the first frame! Slow is close to boring and there´s not a single boring or uninteresting scene in the whole Villeneuve filmography.
Prisoners was boring to me
This movie is awesome, the sequel is pretty damn cool too.
sequel is utter garbage
@@neugassh3570 opinions vary
@@neugassh3570go home
The sequel is just as good imo. It's just a totally different situation than the first one.
@@leroyd3480it's not just as good. It's inferior to the first one.
I've seen this movie like 10 times. If Josh Brolin or Benicio Del Toro is in it, I'm watching. Not even a question.
if they put down the gun and go home they are going to die anyways, or you get the mission done in the cartel or die
Emily Blunts character was basically the audience character. You were seeing the situation through her eyes. She was green, naive and inexperienced with the violence and ruthlessness of the situation on both sides.
As an audience member I had a difficult time relating to her. Especally in the border scene when she got upset that the Delta guys shot thugs that tried to kill them (wtf should they had done, just let the thugs shoot them?) and yet she did the exact same thing herself, killed a guy who shot at her.
Throughout the whole movie she was just complaining about how unetical everything was. Such a snowflake.
@mudgatebronn4438 Her reaction to the Delta guys killing the cartel guys in their car was showing that she was starting to realize the violence of the situation. She shot and killed the guy approaching the vehicle coming from behind. Now,the end, when she aimed her gun at Benicio Del Torres character after he threatened to kill her, understood, that she is not a wolf,or ruthless killer. She showed that she, like the audience, has a moral compass.
@@mudgatebronn4438 Not a “snowflake”. Someone who follows the rule of law. Something you and your ilk are unfamiliar with evidently
@@mrblonde432 yes she was a Snowflake and so are you apparently. It's not illegal nor immoral to shoot back when someone is shooting at you.
4:13 ..."I'm sure it doesn't smell good, bruh"... A decade ago I was studying cooking. Before leaving for 2 weeks on christmas break, some genius forgot that he or she left a plate with half-baked croquettes in a cabinet that's used to cool things but is not a freezer. It stood there for two complete weeks with no power on. After coming back, my class was the first to came in the room, and noticed the stink. I was the unfortunate bastard who find out where the smell came from, but since the cabinet was closed, the smell was quite contained. I was fool enough to open it and that fucking stink came all over my nose right to the brain...
I do believe that a rotten corpse must stink even worse than that, but at least, I can have an idea of how bad...
It took me years to realize "Silvio" (the corrupt Mexican police) is Shield agent Jasper Sitwell from the Marvel movies
Was hydra tough 👀
This is one of my favorite movies. I love the Sequel, too. I hope you all watch the second movie also.
Ok, now let me watch y'all watch the movie 😂😊
good bad-guy strategy - burn bodies in your backyard in the suburbs - you guys would totally fail as cartel members. And bald-dude is a Delta Force team lead - he has endured things you could never imagine and succeeded.
They weren't stopping the drugs in the movie they were trying to take over snd control the drug flow
I don't know if it has been recommended or if you have seen it yet but you should honestly Check out "Four Brothers" staring Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, Garret Hedlund and André 3000 and so many others that performed amazingly well in the movie
Great Movie, I didn't like the sequel as much as others but still a fun watch. The writer for this movie did a couple other fantastic movies - Hell or High Water & Wind River (also directed that one). Both are a great watch for movies looking at the grey area of situations.
Also directed Blade runner sequel and the new Dune movies
the director for this one did, but not the writer. But still, both were fantastic, his visuals are top notch@@kelvinmartinez4770
Taylor Sheridan’s neo-western trilogy. They are all great films. He also created Yellowstone as well.
I loved that movie Hell or high water
I'm not Mexican I really enjoy your reactions jajaj, that movie is such a good movie so cool but 10:32 unfortunately show how México is on these days.. love and luck for you ❤🇲🇽
Add Hell Or High Water to the list. It’s from the same writer and it also has a stacked cast.
Add Wind River to that list
When Alejandro says Kate reminds him of his daughter, it’s more than just a passing comment. What he’s really saying is that she is innocent, and uncorrupted and does not belong in the world that he has been condemned to. And for his part, he saves her life twice, the second time by telling her she is in a land of wolves and must get out. It’s something he was unable to do for his own daughter as he was the reason she was taken. So in doing so, it’s like he’s trying to right a wrong. Once you look past the brutality, there are some morals behind his actions.
What morals behind hosnactions?
American Made: It's a crazy, unbelievable true story and Tom Cruise was awesome in it. He actually flew the planes.
Masterpiece. Taylor Sheridan wrote this. Check out High or High Water
I wonder if they'll ever make Sicario 3
Script is in the works. Plan is to get Brolin, Blunt and Del Toro back. And there are rumors about Chris McQuarrie maybe directing.
I hope so. It is definitely needed
@@goodvibesonly153is it tho?
@@blablubs9987 McQuarrie? Will it be PG-13?
As someone who lives in Texas and used to cross the Mexican border at Brownsville in the 90s, I can tell you the traffic is unreal and you will be in line for hours. If you guys ever drive across, my tips are: dont cross at night, avoid crossing on the weekend, and don't cross in a car with license plates other than Texas. My family from out of state would literally rent a car in Brownsville so they'd have Texas plates when crossing. Honestly, the safest way into Mexico is flying in.
LOVED your reactions to this film, it's definitely one of the few that pulls zero punches. Octokroolians, if you've never seen, Hunted w/ Benicio del Toro and Tommy Lee Jones, then I HIGHLY recommend it. Picture Benicio going John Wick mode the entire film, but with a knife🗡💀
And a special thanks to Mogwai❤ who looked a little 😪
The Hunted is quite underrated and directed by the legendary William Friedkin. It’s not for everyone but those who dig will really dig it.
Correctamundo
They really should watch Savages, fantastic movie, deals with the cartels as well.
When he said "hell on earth is traffic"
after seeing this movie again that part is not a metaphor 😮
The bigger picture is....
The US has always had an odd relationship with the cartels...
The PROBLEM is that the bad guy had gained too much of a monopoly in drug trafficking which was causing a problem in the US, which is what Kate was in the middle of at the beginning of the film....
By eliminating Diaz, it brings back competition...and as long as they're all fighting each other in Mexico, it makes things more manageable in the US...
(Matt briefly explained that to Kate).
Benecio's character was just the weapon Matt used to eliminate the monopoly...his job was to stir the pot enough to get Manuel called back to Mexico, where he could let Benicio's character (the sicario) finalize him. Kate was there to legitimize the activity.
34:59 “OH-MY-GODDD!!!”… 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I just laughed so damn hard! I’m ☠️☠️☠️ I damn near choked lol!
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!😊😊😊😊
I know y’all are sequelist but ya gotta do Sicario 2 Day of the Soldado!
Hey Guy's It's Me Mary I Would Like For You 2 To React To Final Destination 2 The First Sequel In The Franchise It's Scarier Bloodier And Even More Interesting Than The First The Movie Also Celebrated It's 20Th Anniversary This Year Oh This One Is My Favorite Movie Of Them All Let's Go ❤🎉😊
29:00 The 'descent into twilight darkness shot is probably in my top 5 film moments of cinematography.
I can't readily think of anything I've seen filmed by Sir Roger Deakins that wasn't spectacular.
I disagree that this is a "slow burn". The pacing was perfect, no wasted scenes. Check out "Wind River" for a masterful slow burn by the same writer - Taylor Sheridan.
Do the sequel, hell or high water and wind river
Ребята, посмотрите пожалуйста фильм Falling down 1993!🙏
Guys, react to Kung Fury next! You'll love it, the greatest 80s thing ever!
Back in the day it was alot worse, to where we couldn't even drive our own cars across the border and if they knew you weren't from there then you'd get robbed or have to pay a fee. If the police realized you weren't from there then they'd track you down to ask you questions and make sure of your identity. Some of the bad people aren't really bad people, they take care of the areas and people in which they live. And in regards to sicarios, they blend in, you don't even know who they are. It's just wild lol
If this would be a realistic setting , the bad guys in the beginning really had no choice to put the gun down. If theyd came back unsucsessfull they would have been the next ones hanging dismembered from an overpass
The reason for the bodies in the walls is as follows:
Everyone of the bodies have to be investigated and IDed
That takes a lot of manpower
There are only so many agents,
There is no shortage of cartel
Government has budgets
The cartel does not.😢
Yeah so...for the interrogation scene...when he put his crotch up to the guys face..the point of showing us the water jug on the floor was to show us he wasn't using it...I'll tell you that he unzipped his pants...you can let your mind tell you the rest.
Fantastic reaction gentlemen. I particularly appreciate the way you picked up on the scene when Emily aims the gun at Benicio... you nailed it guys... He could give no f**ks if she shoots him or not. He's already lost everything
Time for a Vandamme movie
Only Dennis Villeneuve movies are more intense than exams
Antione Fuqua does a pretty good job. As well as Martin Scorsese. Have you seen Paul Verhoeven movies??
@@V0ltron I have seen 4: Total Recall, RoboCop, Elle and Starship Troopers
@@batmanvsjoker7725 Carry on, Soldier..carry on.
They put the bodies in the walls because us latinos are exceedingly good at hanging drywall.
Great flick. Worth checking out the sequel to.
So glad you guys are finally watching this.
Must do Savages. It is kick ass too. Has Benicio in it as well, but in a different type role.
You should see the ending of the sequal DIA DEL SOLDADO.
They had a sequel to this. Y'all should watch that too.
They were shoving a rag in that dudes mouth for water boarding that’s what that sound was
Josh Brolin made flip-flops a big-dick-swingin' power move in this and I love it
Same director as "Prisoners". The sequel is a worthy watch
Can you'll react to In the Heat of the Night 1967?
Blunt and Brolin's characters are excellent, but Alejandro is the special effect of the film.
Punisher guy is a great supporting actor in the movie "The Accountant". It stars Ben Afleck, but has a great all round cast.
Great reactions. ohh ball slapping is a thing, it's called hand ball. lol
This channel is the WWE of Movie Reaction Videos.
Amazing actors, yes little slow but still really good movie 👍! And mood of this movie is sick, you know something is going to happen 😅
Hell yes - this is absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time. Denis Villeneuve is the best working director currently imho.
I know you said it was a bit slow but the end pays off. This movie does an amazing job of ratcheting up the tension. The thing I love about Villenueve is that he is willing to let these scenes breathe a bit. There are some great breakdowns about the way the entire lead up to and then the reactions on the bridge scene out there. The characters literally tell you in the briefing what is going to happen, but I think you missed it. They said "If something is going to happen - it will happen on the bridge." but then the director distracts you with a bunch of tension. You feel it go up and down and up and down until it hits.
The slow release of the information about what is actually going on in the movie is the thing I love about it.
You guys ever been to the border? This movie is no bulls••t.
As a twin who is not that identical to my brother, I relate. But anyway hope you are going well guys.
This movie is a masterpiece. One of many directed by Denis Villenruve. Saw this in the theaters back in the day when i learned this director was going to do the sequel of Blade Runner. After watching it i knew the BR sequel was in good hands and how right i was.
For me this was on the same line as "No country for old men"
"That guy doesn't deserve TV"🤭🤭🤭
Benicio's character, Alejandro, is one of the most heart breaking I've seen in a movie in many years. I just finally watched this movie for the first time and I'm glad it took me this long, honestly. I needed some catharsis in my life and this provided it.
Much like you, I've seen the advertisement but skipped over it for lesser movies.
This movie is "Godfather 2-level"!
Equalizer 3
The water jug was for water boarding. It simulates drowning to torture a suspect.
Check out Sicario 2. It's not as good but still worth watching and has some good scenes wrapping up some loose connections from the first film as well.
I saw this when it came out, I remember liking it, but it sure was intense.
Opening scene could have a coyote hub, have people cross the border and keep them captive until their families on the American side pay for them. They don't pay, whole groups are kept and left to die, so too many bodies to transport, what do they do, stash them there. Similar scene in End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhal
You guys should watch the Movie Wolfman from 2010, Benicio del toro& Emily Blunt act in that movie as well.
Please watch BAPS, please. 😊
Now watch the second one lol love this movie. One of my favorites
This movie was amazing. Part two is just as good. Love the video octokrool stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
The cast of this is Phenomenal
Taylor Sheridan writes the best movies and TV shows.
Part 2 is really good 2...
This movie has one of my favorite and most satisfying ending I've seen.
Great Segment on "Sicario" 2015. How about each week OctoKrool with 1 or 2 Films - doing segment of these 1980s Film Gems where a lot of Petreons have not recommended yet; "Running Scared" 1986, "Shoot to Kill" 1988, "Midnight Run" 1988, "Empire of The Sun" 1987, "Silverado" 1985, "The Killer" 1989, "No Way Out" 1989, "Someone to Watch Over Me" 1987, " "When Harry Met Sally" 1989? Enjoy.
Just noticed something for the first time watching your reaction. Before she agrees, she asks Josh Brolin "Do we get a shot at the guy responsible for today?" So she basically got into the situation the same way Benicio del Toro did, same basic motivation.
Sicario 2 is next.
This is one of the best slow burn 🔥 action movie post 2000 until present day. The tension and suspense are real. The movie is dark, violence and brutal yet real and wholesome. General public audience or viewers might thought that Emily Blunt or Josh Brolin were the highlights of this movie, not knowing that the main character of this movie/story was actually Benicio Del Toro. He’s the punisher here. Once a prosecutor, now a hitman. Alejandro, the Mexican hitman. He is the “Sicario”. And this whole movie is all about him😊❤
Y’all should watch “The Hunted” with Benicio del Toro and Tommy Lee Jones! Great movie. Benicio bitched out The Punisher with a wet willy 🤣
It’s confirmed Alejandro was raping the guy. Not beating him up. 😂😂😂
Love this Movie❤
Thx for reacting to this! I love your videos.
Mexico had 2k people moving in from Canada until 2020, and now it's 15k . Canadians have big balls.
