Always a treat getting these notifications. In the time since your last video I've gone from being dead set on an AA Fokker Dr1 to wanting a Sopwith Triplane. Since I'm in Canada that seems like a unique, but relevant aircraft to buzz around in. Gonna have to give Baslee a call and see what he can do with that. Also so thankful that you do think out loud for these videos. You've made a daunting task seem doable. Even enjoyable.
It's good to hear you're enjoying the journey and considering a Sopwith Triplane, it's a great choice. Let Robert know if I inspired you, I have never heard anything since i received the kit.
I always enjoy your videos, and look forward to the next one. Thanks for leaving in the humility, and letting us know you too deal with GoPro issues and have ants in your pants! Sometimes you see a video and think to yourself that person doesn’t have the same issues that I have.
Love your videos! Could you do one on just all you learned (Tips & Tricks) about painting your Camel using latex paint. Would be helpful for all others using latex paint on their planes.
Looking great mate. Take your time with the metalwork, your thought processes is doing great. Working from the bottom up is the way to go. From memory, I made the side airframe side of the metalwork butt up to the firewall; because of the funky shapes that are there. Hard to see, but enough shape to make things difficult. The cowling came back and overlapped the side and top Fuselage panels. More than happy to help out somehow if you need. Always have engine cooling as the goal with the firewall forward part. Getting air to flow to the back of the crank case, fuel pumps and carb and then drawn out the exit is key to making the engine run like a sewing machine. On Rosie, we spent a bit of effort stopping it from getting vapour lock and heat sink. We got it to run beautifully even after a long taxi after flying. Getting to the pointy end now!
Ps….if you are not going to paint the cowl, I’d polish it with Bowden’s Own metal polish, clean it with Flash Prep, and use Fully Slick to protect it. That’s what I use on Frankenstein. Simple and easy when it comes to metal polishing. May not be as amazing as some of the other aircraft polish kits are, but pretty good and a lot easier to use
Great work! I wanted to ask you though. In your first videos you seemed less than enthusiastic about the quality of the Aerodrome kit. You are definitely making it work but how do you feel about it now? Are you satisfied or do you think you would have looked for something else if you were going to do another project?
Looking super good. We've got one just about ready to fly here in Colorado. Let me know if you want any info on our build or anything. Not sure if it's the same plans, but sure looks familiar
Hi Scott, another good episode mate. I was just wondering, can you still iron the fabric without it affecting the paint and does the paint limit the effect the iron has on the fabric at all?
@@scottmatthews5280 Yes thanks, I already have seen it yesterday! 😃 However thanks for the update 👍 (edit) I want to add that I am thoroughly impressed by the way how you keep on advancing with your project. Even if I had the means to finance such project, I probably never had started such enormous endeavor. You know, just too big. But I am glad people like you exist and share it with the world. 👍😃
Looks like my shop, a lot of airplanes that don't fly and take up a lot of space. I switched to flying the sim 100%. It gets me up in the air every time without all the money and work and heartache.
@@scottmatthews5280 I was joking - I know you're an Aussie! However, seems to me that in some areas of the States, they aren't too particular about who votes! 🤣
That finish on the circular firewall makes it look like a Rolex watch on the inside! Beautiful airplane
It was a lot of work getting it to that standard
@ I bet it’ll be worth every little bit of effort, can’t wait to see it fly!

I think it's important to show that everyone has those struggles, even with building a replica!
I got a good shot of genuine pleasure when I spotted this new post. Nice work!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for sharing , no need to apologise it's looking great
You're welcome, I'm enjoying the build!
Greetings from Utah, that’s a mighty fine looking aircraft you’re building 👍
I appreciate the kind words. It's been a lot of work, but it's worth it.
2x4...Love your progress! from Iowa, USA.
Thanks! I'm making good progress.
Coming along nicely 👍
My old Man,
rest his soul, swore by "Mohair" Roller Mops.

Well I need to be diplomatic I guess. I love my camel but the kit…….and build notes……

That's great to hear, I'm sure it'll be a beautiful machine. Let's chat!
Planes are like yachts...pull out another thousand...🤣
nah , boats you chuck it into a hole in the water , planes just toss it the air ....

Yeah good question, the same came to my mind 👍
Yes you can!
Next video explains it.

Two aircraft, one not finished, the other did 1.2 hours today???
@@scottmatthews5280 3 aircraft, all three 3 have never flown. One got flipped on it's back.
You mentioned Trump's victory first thing ... did you vote for him? LOL!
That would be dead or non-existent people done by Dumbocraps. Trump by a landslide.
No I’m an Aussie just watching
