I’m so excited about this season. DT is bringing a fresh look at the right time for this legacy school. I’m excited as well about the John Smith documentary. Can’t wait. Let’s go Pokes!!!!!
Great video man, Christian Carroll did wrestle 97kgs at OTT, but he’s wrestling 92kg this week at U20s. So he’s already down to 202lbs, with 5-6 months before the season, so weight will not be an issue IMO! He also announced he was going down to 197, because of his height and said his frame was better suited to 197, way before Hendrickson entered the portal or DT was the coach.
Good eye! I didn't even notice Carroll was registered at 92kg. That is awesome! If he looks solid this weekend I have no doubt he'll be a success this year!
It's interesting that they are bringing in a good wrestler from Japan because Oklahoma State had a pipeline of Japanese wrestlers in the 1960s. I guess the tradition continues.
The secret to finishing higher than last season is DT and staff. However, Cowboys lost a lot of potential points at 197 when Carroll left that would have moved them higher. But such is life. Not sure that Luke Surber will be able to do much, was a different wrestler after his injury.
How much longer will OSU keep playing their cupcake schedule where they avoid the other top teams in the country? OSU always provides a dismal showing in NCAA tournament.
@@stevemehl469 In the 63 years prior to Smith as our head coach, our wrestling team won a national championship 47% of the time. With Smith the number drops to 15%. It's been 18 years since out last natty, tied for longest draught in program history, and we are in the longest streak without an Olympic medalist In the first 81 years of our program, we NEVER finished outside the top 6. In the last 15 years we have finished outside the top 10 five times. .
I have been a fan of OSU wrestling since 1966, but I have to agree with you that no one is taking away the throne from PSU as long as Cael is there. The greatest college wrestling coach ever.

Yeah but he's gone now.

Another fantastic video!!! Thank you!
Can you plz do some predictions for OU Wrestling hiring Mark Hall will help a lot and Buchanan has a chance to win the champ at 197
By NCCA rule Hall cannot coach per his job as Ops Director
@@derek91362 Ik that I’m saying getting him still helps though
@@Packerfan5827not nearly enough to win 197…
Monster levels of excitement I have never really liked OSU but as a huge taylor fan I am all in now. Lets go OSU.
Nicely done! Go Pokes!
11:30 they did, and they did. Good call
Great video 👏🏻
What about Sheets and Caviness or l guess he goes by Mullin now?
Sheets not good enough.
I think Young competes with Jamison at 141. And of course Carroll left and went to ISU.
Good content.
Super excited for Jj mccomas
He's solid!
Seems like they get a lot of top recruits. How do they now finish better than they have over the last few years?

Awesome video; go pokes
Gotta be hungry, O-State!
Carroll can’t leave, this team is too exciting and needs him at 197!
Hindsight w/ DT coming in, but Voinovich should've stayed
Go Pokes! Go Coach Taylor!
Oklahoma state Penn state 2.0!!!
Hendrickson wont be in rtc ge will be in the military
Hendrickson can defer his military career until he quits wrestling. Per interview 10/14/2024.
DT is unproven as a coach so we will have to wait and see
OMG, you don't know greatness when you see it.

You don't know your OSU history at all. Nor are you familiar with the level of competition they face in their schedule.
I love John Smith. He was a great wrestler and one of our own, but he is the most overrated coach in OSU history.
I don't think that's true, he's had alot of success there
5 NCAA team championships as coach is overrated???
Tommy Chesbro was the most overrated. Good at duals but could not create NCAA tournament championships except the team he inherited from Roderick.

@@Jonus_GrumbyParity, Top recruits prefer PSU and Iowa. Teams learned to defend low single ankle pick. Opponents physically stronger.

Penn State is KING and the Magic Man won't change that, SORRY+
