Those bread clips (flat ones) are a good solution to finding the end of your masking tape, painters tape, etc. just stick it to the end each time you use the tape, never have to search for the start of the tape again
My mother did that 40 years ago for her grocery list. She also washed out plastic bags and aluminum foil. She was way ahead of the time when it came to recycling.
Some of the pasta sauces I buy have pretty mason jars. I remove the label, wash them well, and use them to decant items. Sugar, flour, or even tide pods. They look prettier to me than the packaging from the store!
me too
We use them as drinking glass
Great idea!
Good idea!
Yes! Me too. Food items or even things like cotton balls or q-tips for the bathroom. I love them for drinking glasses...strong, easy to clean, can use the lids and put holes for straws. I also use them for leftovers or to prep salads in. So versatile!
The best scraper for pots and pans I’ve found is used plastic gift cards or hotel room entrance cards. You’ll never buy another scraper!!
We pretty much stopped using wrapping paper decades ago, when I decided that it was a waste to throw away beautiful paper that had been used only once just to wrap a gift. I started making gift bags out of fabric I had left from other projects, and then started buying remnants of holiday prints in January after the Christmas season. And family members who have arthritic hands found these bags were great because wrapping gifts was hard on their hands, so we gave them each a stack of bags. We've been using some of the same bags for almost 40 years now, and seeing them each year is almost like seeing old friends again. And it's surprising that fabric that wouldn't make attractive clothese actually makes nice looking bags. We still use paper to wrap gifts we are giving to people outside the family, but we haven't had to buy paper for years since our supply has lasted a long time. I think some of your viewers would enjoy using this idea, and they could even repurpose old clothes --- plaid flannel shirts would make great looking gift bags.
I love this idea!
@maryjanegibson7743 do you have a pattern you could share?
I, too, think this is innovative and unique! ❤
You should do a video on making them. I get the concept but can’t visualize making them.❤
My sister makes big bags out of bird seed bags.
I take the ribbed part of the sock and make my hair scrunchies : ) just cut the ribbed part off the sock and now I have plenty of scrunchies for ponytails buns and braids, then use the rest of the sock for dusting
I have a few socks without mates that I plan to use for dusting my blinds.
Another Butt heel bread idea.. I take my butt ends and put them in the toaster, let them air dry over night and then run through the food processor.. My own bread crumbs for baking fish, chicken etc I add a little Italian Seasoning to mine and shake up the container. Easy and not wasteful. I haven't bought Panko Crumbs in years. Btw if you have thicker bread slices you might have to toast it twice in the toaster. Anna In Ohio
Anna, thank you for adding the process of how you make them into breadcrumbs 🤗
I use the hard clam shell eyeglass / sunglass cases to keep my phone charging cord, plug, earbuds organized. Doing this makes them easy to find in my purse.
My son does too with his earbuds
Thats a really good tip, thank you : )
Great idea if I remember it!
Bread tabs are also good for broken flip flops. Pop the toe back in the hole and use it on the underside to prevent it from continuing to pop out after the flip flop material splits.
I quit buying Kleenex, I now use cotton handkerchiefs wash and use again. It doesn’t take long to cover the cost of the handkerchiefs it you don’t buy the Kleenex. Also I kept some Kleenex boxes to fold and keep my handkerchiefs in
Hey Pat 🌹❤️❤️, happy weekend to you. How're you feeling today ?
I use cloth hankies acquired at thrift store or garage sale. Also some I cut from old clothing. I use cloth napkins as well. Most things I buy are 2nd hand, gifted to me or found at the curb where people place their trash bins.
I hate having to keep turning my necklace chain back around so clasp is in the back of neck. So I've put a little bit of clear nail polish on the hook of my cross. Let it dry and No more clasp in front. 😊
Eye glass cases work great to store crochet hooks
I have used the back of used envelopes to make to do lists, errand lists etc. When opening mail I cut the short end of the envelope. Take out the contents. Your envelope is immediately ready for any list or any use. Judy
That's a great way to reuse something that would normally just get thrown out. Thanks for this tip : )
I' m a snail mail penpaler. I turn a lot of envelopes inside out to reuse. I put blank white labels over text in greeting cards & reuse to write letters.
My late husband would use the pant hangers in his shop to hang his woodworking plans, making them easier to read.
Great idea!
The hangers : I have taken a sharp kitchen knife and cut of the two clips then used the clips for chips and packages.
I am glad I looked at the comments, I have been doing this for years.
I've done that also
I use a plastic lid from mayonnaise or peanut butter jars to scrape dried food from plates, or pans, on counter tops, tables, and stove top as I always hand wash my dishes.
Great idea!
The buttons for earrings really blew me away.😊
I use tea cup plates that I don't have a cup anymore. I reuse & gift them by adding a pretty bar of soap and tie with a ribbon.
Gladys, that is a beautiful idea!
I love that idea!❤
Love!! ❤
Or a decadent cookie or a few special chocolates wrap in chiffon and bow
Cute!!!
You can use pool noodles instead of toilet paper or paper towel rolls on hangars. You don’t have to tape them and they don’t crease or bend.
At my sister’s house, we use leftover bread crust for homemade stuffing. It thickens the dough and doesn’t make it so runny. Less food waste. Especially at Canadian Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Sharen
I have them in all my purses, I have a sewing kit, small first aid. Things, also pain killers, chap stick, extra car key and house, and a small flashlight.
I use rubber bands from store veggies, put them around your glass canned good it helps prevent them from clanking together on the shelf
I saved heels of bread for bread pudding or to make my own stuffing mix
In the past I used clothes pins from Dollar Tree as chipclips and bag closers. But the metal mechanism keep popping off. Not wanting to waste any more clothes pins I switched to various sizes of binder clips. Works great.
The metal mechanism is really easy to pop back onto the clip parts. My hubby does it in a couple of seconds, literally. No tools required. Give it a try.
That's odd. I've been using the dollar tree clothespins for years for chip clips etc.
I also use binder clips for chip clips and when straining soup stock through cheesecloth. I clip the larger ones all along the edges of the bowl I’m straining into.
I acquired my chip clips from thrift store or garage sales.
The aluminum foil for the shredder works … we work a lot from home and we do it about once a month and they stay sharp sharp…
You can also use empty ziplock baggie boxes that have the perforated top that you open the box with to store plastic bags. Easy to store bags and to get out one at a time
I put fabric softener in a spray bottle and spray hard to remove scuffs n dirt on walls. Spray and wipe with microfiber cloth. Works just as hood as magic eraser but lasts longer n freshens house as well
I love using the lint from the dryer in the toilet or paper towel roll for camping to start the fire… it helps the fire start fast …
Just discovered this, it works great.
I ripen fruit in recycled brown paper bags. Roll down the top to close and secure it with a clothespin that has the name of the fruit on it written in sharpie. I just keep the clips in my drawer for the next time I have hard pears or whatever.
You can also use old credit cards for scraping pots and pans, and filling small holes in the walls with white toothpaste, if you move a picture or rearrange your pictures when you take the small nails out and it leaves a hole, voila tooth paste on card spread on wall no hole, you can paint over.
Hey Jeanne 🌹❤❤, good evening and also a happy weekend to and your households. How're you feeling today?
I know people who keep the light-weight bread bag clips for guitar picks!
I use the bread bag clips to keep my cloth dishtowels from falling off my oven door handle etc by clipping the dishtowel sides together just under the door handle. That way they are not constantly falling on the floor.
I use the note idea. But those envelopes are great to use as coupon organizer. I also pay my mom rent and will put cash in to put under her mat
the first one reminded me of my grandmother. back in the day when hair ties weren't a thing, she would cut the elastic parts of sheer socks and would use them to tie her hair. she still does this lol
I've been using the toilet paper roll for the wrapping paper ever since I heard it on here and it works excellent
Wonderful video! The terracotta brown sugar bears on Amazon are great to maintain your brown sugar. I'm sure everybody does this but I'll mention it anyway.....after using up products that come in glass jars, I wash the jars/lids and reuse them for leftovers.
Snap bracelets also work for wrapping paper!
I need to look for snap bracelets for my rolled-up silicone baking mats. They'd be easier to put on and take off than the silicone-type band I'm using now. Sam's Club has a set of Dexa silicone baking mats in three sizes. There is a black band to hold each of the rolled-up mats closed. Reviewers have said the black band looks like a snap bracelet.
I wonder what a snap bracelet is???
@@carolburnett8372 They snap when they hit the object (wrist, tube, etc) and roll up. Kids tend to get them in gift baskets or as favors.
Jennifer Many of us seniors are too used to writing paper to totally let that habit totally
go. We're not the totally computer friendly group. Many of us are the computer wary group. Thought you should know 🎉
Hi Bessie, I am the same when it comes to writing. The junk mail suggestion is more for just scrap notes like grocery lists, to do's, etc.
@@THEJENNIFERCOOKa
Yes, I still get paper statements! I like it that way! I want to see my bills---not have to search on line for them. I do pay my bills on line--easier and saves postage.
The small mini m&m containers are great fro change to keep in your car.
Also if you use those tiny little inexpensive reading glasses, they fit perfectly in those.
I started saving Lycra scraps for a sewing project.......cut it into 1/2 in wide strips or 1/3 inch wide.......and cut into about 7-13 inch long pieces and tied Bothe ends a knot in the end, making a circle......can be used from pony tail ties.......or I use them in the kitchen - the longer version and roll up food bags, as in flour, meal, bagged open partial mixes......and I stretch them over whatever I want to tape or clip up...........to wash later, just place in water in warm water, soapy (coffee cup) for 1 min and roll around and then rinse and re-use.........I have been doing this for a long time......and also used these when we were required to wear mask to the dr. office........these lycra pieces did not hurt the ears..(the fabric stores during covid sold out of elastic....wow ).......so I made lots of these and share them with others.........they are so so handy......you will find other uses for them as in holding cords together and more.
I use pasta sauce as liquid measurement cup some it’s marked with measures
That's a great idea!
Yes and the pasta sauce jars are cute too.😊
Ha ha. I don’t even use wrapping paper rolls. 😅😅 I just collect a few random gift bags or give small things like money or gift cards, or send things online to them.
Plastic bags I just keep some (not all) in another plastic bag. (Hanging up).
Will be looking into the foil thing to sharpen all my blades. Lol.
Cool and clever tips! Lol.
I guess my one thing is to use clothes pins for food storage clips. And then using peroxide a lot for laundry and cleaning (esp with pets and any other organic messes or stains. Enzyme power! It just doesn’t get any better than a cheap product “eating up” organic material and making it go away. Lol).
I reuse Swiffer wipe containers to organize my junk drawer
That is a good idea. Those are really sturdy containers.
I decorated some containers w/pretty paper & store my bandanas in them.
You can make beautiful envelopes out of the pictures on an old calendar. This is helpful if you are missing an envelope from a greeting card. Just use a white label where the address will be.
You also can save old cards and glue on storage boxes with lids, to put decorations in to put in the attic......spring for spring and Christmas for Christmas
I have a penpal who does this. I turn some use envelope inside out to reuse.
Love the idea to use buttons for earrings
A used gift card makes a very good scraper for cooked food. You can round the corners to fit the pan or bowl. Easier to hold than a bread clip too.
When I have been ironing my table runner I use an empty paper towels roll and rolling my table runner around the roll then I am not folding the table roller and when I will use it it looks like neu ironed. 💖Thank you for you many good tips! 👍💖🥰
That's a great idea!
The tops of knee high hose just like the top of the sock hack.
Add the little plastic tab from the bread bags and write what the ( phone, cable, iPad, etc) cord is for and add it to the hair tie 👏
I use an eye glasses case to store my smartwatch 😊
I use binder clips to hold my dish towels on the stove handle, as for some reason, my cat thinks it's funny to pull the unsecured towels off 😄
I save my old debit and gift cards to use as scrapers on the counter etc
Great idea
I use old credit cards to run between the outside rubber and car window to unstick it when frozen, so I can roll down my window
@@lindabradford9591 that's a good one! Will use
To keep nail polish from turning thick store it in your refrigerator. They last good forever.
I have wire shelving so I use hangers with clips to hang bags of snacks + bags with rags.
I get my chip clips, or rather multipurpose clips, at the Dollar Tree. It's $1.25 for 6 but they are all metal and literally last forever as long as your kids don't take them and lose them.
Love those metals clips, holds so much better
The multicolored set, right? I like those too! I use them for chip clips and clipping the clear bag closed inside the cereal box. I'll remember to save that clear bag for later use. I use one to attach a small towel to the wire shelf above my washer. I use it to dry the detergent and fabric softener measuring cups, after rinsing them while the washer is filling.
I get mine from thrift store & garage sale. Main accent color in kitchen is red. So I'm always on lookout for red ones.
Jumping on the pant hanger bandwagon: I use them to hang 4 18x18 pillow covers! If you are trying to stack them it's difficult because they can be slippery. Enjoy!
Elizabeth, another great use! Thank you 😊
I make dog snacks with the heel of the bread, I break it up into bite size pieces and smother it with bacon grease. I keep it in the fridge and give one to my dog every so often. The bacon grease preserves the bread.
Wow! Cool idea!
Bacon grease is unhealthy for humans. It is also unhealthy for dogs as well. There are much healthier options for treats for your dog like fresh broccoli or carrots. Giving your dog bacon grease will result in vet bills, not to mention how horrible that the dog will have to go through being ill. Healthier options will SAVE you money, and your dog will be happier.
@@lanamichalski3208 😂😂😂 my grandfather fed his dogs the same thing and they lived to a ripe old age without vet visits. I respectfully disagree.
@@PeaceDayCortez Times have changed. Veterinary medicine has evolved, just as Western medicine for humans has. Things that were deemed safe many years ago, are now considered unsafe. Your choice.
@@lanamichalski3208 please! I’m 60! I’ve been feeding every dog I’ve ever had the same snack and they all lived to a ripe old age. You act like I’m feeding them daily, I said every once in awhile! 🙄 You do you and I’ll do me. 😂😂😂
use bread tags to mend flip flops, toe piece, underneath slip between sole and thong, keeps going for the summer.
Hi😊 I cut the legs of panty hose or tights into rings an inch or 2 thick. I use them for pony tail 0:06 ties. They work better than any store bought hair tie I’ve ever tried & they don’t cause hair breakage like many store bought varieties!!!!
I’m gonna go make some croutons with my leftover bread in my freezer!
If you buy lots of rolls of wrapping papers to save till the next season, and you cut some paper off and it keeps coming loose, you just roll tight and put it and about 4 other rolls with it and store in those free umbrella plastic bags you get when you go to walmart and it is raining.....you also can see what is in the bag.....
I use the pony tail holders for my wrapping paper.
Same here, works awesome
Love all the tips, have used many you have shared, I use the pant hangers to air dry bathroom rugs and then also store them in laundry closet for easy access
Don't have to waste edible bread to soften brown sugar - use a scrap of orange peel or an apple core instead
Naomi, thank you for this suggestion! I will use these ideas next. The more the merrier.
I love the heels of bread, but other hate the crust 🤦♀️
Ponytail holders also work great for rolls of paper wrap. Also those clear containers for salad at chick fillet, the bottom one with no holes are great for placing under plants to protect surfaces.
Hello from Germany 🙂
I work in an Old-Peoples-Home and at the end of the year they give me their old calenders = paper that I use the whole year long for freeeeee 😄
I enjoyed your vid -and look forward to trying several of them out. As a gardenter, I also use clothes pins to label and identify seeds that I'm growing or attach the clothes pin to my grow bags, flower pots etc. I use a permanent marker and write down the date, plant type etc. It's more sustainable and better for the environment than using plastic labels.
I use the heal,of bread in my sandwich, I put the peanut butter r the Mayo on the brown part and u can not tell it’s the heel. Great way to use up,the end pieces.
So many new to me tips! Here's mine: I use the toilet paper cardboard tubes to neatly store the small cords and charger cords, especially for bathroom items - no more bundle of snakes!
I use pony tail ties to tie up chords when traveling. They are the perfect size just string them on the chord end and it works… I have on my iron my digital chords anything that hangs it’s great
Candy jars, etc, with broken lids - I use for candle jars.
I use binder clips from the $Store to keep things together. Also can use them to hang recipes, art work etc.
I use the closes pin for my bag of cereal. ❤💐 Love all the tips.
Thank you, Kathleen!
I have a tip. For the toilet paper rolls if u don't want to use a rubber band to hold yr bags of stuff then use the toilet paper rolls place the bag in it and then turn the bag after putting in the roll and then turn it inside out once the bag is placed thru the roll so it doesn't stop u from using a tie or rubber band...😊
Not exactly sure what you mean ??
“The heel of a loaf of bread! What fresh hell is is this!,
“The heel of a loaf of bread.” That’s a new one on me! We Brits call it the crust! 😂😂😂
❤️
I like to call them bread butts. 🎶I like bread butts and I cannot lie...🎶 Good for sopping up the last of my bean juice. 😋
I always called it the tail of the bread. No matter what name you call it, I don’t like to eat it.
in Canada as well - « crust »
I also use papers that are sent with bills or advertising items if the back of the paper is blank perfect notepaper for grocery lists or notes. If you use the envelopes put any coupons in the envelope to use and save money
UK bread doesn’t have those ties. We have a sticky band go round the top. I just twist the top and put away. Never get hard bread.
I just tie a loose knot with the open end of bag. I don't mess with ties.
I use the hangers for my clothes. 😊 Great tips. Thank you.
❤I havent used "feminine products" in years, I choose period panties (tight short shorts as well for extra flow) and an absorbant tissue, recommended❤
Just a heads up...some period panties have absorbent crystals sewn inside the crotch. They work great but after so many washings can start to dissolve and that creates a powder that can come through the fabric & irritate sensitive "parts". Not sure which brands, just have friends that have used them & have had to deal with the irritations.
@@lilypudd
Thanks, correction: by period panties I meant panties that are either black or a darkish colour or that I have "made" into period panties..
Funny, I think "feminine product" companies have caught on and actually market those.. they sell them in Israel for almost 30 USD, what a joke... regular panties are just fine and probably better, cotton is most likely best
Thanks for clarifying. I was a bit confused at first. That's pretty smart!
I love the heel of bread to make grilled cheese sandwiches.
Wow. Thes tips are great!!! I save all the bread heals and I put them in my blender and I always have fresh bread crumbs stored in my freezer. Whenever I need breadcrumbs I just take them out of the freezer and use them. They don’t have all the chemicals and added reservatives that bought breadcrumbs have, plus they taste better because I use wholegrain bread. Thank you.
Hey Carol 🌹❤❤, how are you doing today. Happy weekend 💐🍀😇
If you still get a newspaper, i use the bag it's in when it rains to stuff my plastic grocery bags in.
Thanks for the video!
Hi Jennifer, Thanks for all the great ideas you & your followers have given us. I use the saucer part of a cup/saucer for plant dishes to catch water or just to dress up a faux plant so it looks even more real. It's good for a cracker plate or chip plate if you want to keep them from getting soggy in a dinner plate, even a small charqutery dish for the cheese etc. Also jewelry holder on a dresser or next to the kitchen sink for those that remove rings/bracelets. good for plants outside on the patio to dress it up also. Thanks for all your ideas! I will keep watching as I am a new subscriber. I like how real you are & that you move right along explaining things. Bye for now
My ponytail holders never make it to anything else beyond cat toys. At least they do have one extra use after holding up ponytails.😊
🤗
Great video. So many helpful hints.

I use the hangers clips Break them off used for potato chip clip
Thank you 😊
Maria, you are so welcome!
Nice job!
Hi I have use old tea bags for cleaning dirty pots or dishes before washing. Some are stronger than others
Write grocery list on junk mail envelopes and place paper coupons inside as coupon organizer.
Wow! Such great ideas!!! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Very helpful. Thank you.
