I've been looking for a video like this for years! I think I walked up and down this street every day while I was a student in Montreal. Brings back memories. Wonderful job filming this!

St Laurent north of Sherbrooke is so interesting but reminds me of Bloor/Annex area. Not just an old Jewish area (suggest we all read Mordecai Richler for that) but also Portuguese, both getting wiped out from demographics but still visible. Just east of St Laurent is St Denis street for boutiques & good/busy bars.

Hello Johnny! Thanks for sharing the video to us! And also thanks for showing us the different streets around the city of Montreal. I’m planning to visit Montreal again hopefully in the summer time! Have a great Sunday!

When I lived in Mtl the term "Le Plateau" was never used. I think it's a modern real estate construct so where it begins on St Laurent is on a sliding scale.

Interesting see the bike under the snow (15:40) and it's so sweet the little Christmas tree decorated with snow (38:32) . How people find their stuffs under the snow ? Maybe they need a map . 😂🌨🌲👀🥰❤

Johnny - when you walked by Schwartz’s when it was open, there was no line, and you didn’t go in, it literally wrecked me. 🥪

lol I was only there for 2 nights and have been before. I passed it up last time too and just went to Dunn's instead (equally good sandwiches IMO, but Schwartz's has a one of a kind atmosphere that truly makes it special).

I’m surprised a city as large as & well known as Montreal just lets their sidewalks go like that. Even small town downtowns at least try to keep up with clearing their sidewalks.

If I ever go to Monteal I think I want to stay at the hotel next to the sex store. It seems like a good crossroad to go down to Chinatown/Old Montreal, then up to surplus stores on St. Laurent then hipsters at the top of Le Plataeau.

If Johnny hasn't already, he should go to Paris and do a walking video there.
