A great walk in my home city - you're a trooper for walking Montreal in February. It's been far too long since I've been there; must try to get back this summer....soooo unhappy in Toronto these days...

You must eat at Reubens restaurant. They have the best food. There are 2 of them on St Catherine Street, I prefer the larger one. Thank me later. 👍

As a Montrealer I think Sainte Catherines is the main street for shopping and services. Saint Laurent is the main street and has many small speicialty shops, hip shops, small bars, cafes, night clubs and locally owned small restaurants. But to get any serious shopping done for daily purpose or then stick with the Sainte Catherines stores and malls. One can also find many nice local shopping strips like Saint Hubert's covered walks in or Wellington's piped music strip in Verdun. As well malls and big box retail doted in each sector of the whole mertopolitan area including the South Shore and Laval which have many typical Canadian style shopping squares. As for markets that are easy to get two by metro are Atwater Market in Saint Henry and Jean Talon Market in Little Itialy. Me I do not shop much but find going downtown makes it ease to find everything. But if I feel like english services then I sometimes go to Fairview mall in Point Claire west Island.

Awesome video, Johnny👍🏼 I ❤️ Montréal, and I must eat at Reuben's whenever I'm visiting the city. My favorite Reuben's is the one on rue Ste-Catherine close to rue Drummond. I believe that's the location you passed. The last time I was there, I had the smoked meat sandwich called "le 76." OMG! I'm salivating just thinking of the gravy, which contained brandy. That early afternoon, I (well, my "76") l held the collective gaze of a group of hung-over groomsmen.😆😆😆 Apparently the bachelor party took place the previous night. Also staring at me consuming my saucy sammie was a local lady named Suzanne. (Shout out to Suzanne of Le Plâteau!). We got to talking about MTL's palaces for smoked meat. Next thing I knew, she insisted on bringing me along to take a bus (we hopped on across from Dunn's, by the way, Johnny) that offered quite the scenic route to and through le Vieux-Montréal. We both hopped on le ligne l'orange and took that train to l'avenue Mont-Royal. The rest (including yummy croissants, pain au chocolat and coffees between us on an impossibly small café table), is history. ...
Next time I'm in Montréal, I'd like to stay at Le St-Martin Hôtel Particulier. I remember well your videos during that trip and specifically the vid of your hotel room review.😊

Reuben's is great, I think I like Dunn's a little better in that area for sandwiches but you can't go wrong at either!

Works at McGill College is REM going North. The south section will open next spring. Red Light is now like 3 parlours, 2 strip clubs and 2 sex shops. The part between St-Laurent and Village along with St-Denis St is called Quarter Latin. It's mixed between entertainment, the UQAM campus and red light. Taxis have to reach smaller show venues with doors on the street so pedestrian street has to stop. Berri-UQAM station is at the last stage of a 10-year reconstruction. By the way the olympic tower is reopening next Summer.

@@JohnnyStrides ahahaha same here .. must be some corruption involved there
we call it the cock ring cuz montrealers got f***ed lol
The main argument of why it was so costly is the feature on the ring..
it’s heated lol heats up so the snow always gets melted off of the ring that was the biggest cost 🤭🫣
