Career tight head prop here. I loved playing in the nasty weather. Favorite match of all time was against a Welsh military team in Oklahoma City (I know that sounds bonkers). At the end, you couldn't tell who played for what side because everyone was covered in mud from head to toe.
Are you sure? He just knows to dance but not scoring tries. How many tries has him scored for last two seasons. His try scoring rate is super low. Also, the try this match, he was miles ahead, and should run to the posts instead of scoring at the corner. He has brilliant sometimes, just like Wainiqolo, but not a player who can be a super star.
@@DavidCheng-v9o You sound like a hater. He’s been on fire this season. So far he has 3 tries, second highest for the Drua and leads the competition on most defenders beaten and is among the top 5 for other stats in the competition so far.
@@MarkWhippy Let's wait and see whether he can score 0.5 tries per match at the end of season. Surely he didn't even score 0.4 tries per match last season.
Making points and piling them during sinbin is a rare feat...and to go out and win the match against a team that has just beaten the Q-Reds is just awesome...
100% Tony. Drua add enormous passion, as well as power, speed and skill; and therefore top spectator excitement. You gets your money's worth, in my op.
Jaysus. Good win for the Drua. Calling the conditions atrocious would be an understatement. To be fair to the Force, those Perth lads have probably never even seen that much water, other than at the beach. 😆
Old school rugby. Hopefully it wasn’t cold too like it used to be when wet at times in Halifax Nova Scotia Honestly I can’t think of a place in the world I’d rather watch a game live then in Fiji. Exciting team, more excited fans, beautiful location, would be a dream
Loved playing in this sort of weather. I remember winning a 7 - 0 being caked in head to toe in mud and puddles all over the pitch. One of my favourite Rugby memories. Been retired 7 years now and miss it every Saturday
Proposing the construction of an international dome stadium in Fiji with a capacity of 25,000 and adaptable to weather conditions for hosting international games in the Pacific region sounds like a promising idea. Such a facility could enhance Fiji's sporting infrastructure and attract more international events to the region, benefiting both the local economy and sports enthusiasts. However, it would require thorough planning, feasibility studies, and collaboration between the government, private sector, and sports organizations to make it a reality.
That's a great idea. Would have more tier 1 teams coming over and put in a bid for one of the World 7 Series leg played in Fiji with a new upgraded stadium
A pesar de la lluvia y cómo se desarrolló el partido, encontré que el ref fue súper preciso en sus decisiones. Hace temporadas que no aparecía un ref bueno
They say that the heat and dry conditions is always to the Drua's advantage , but if it's rainy and wet? Drua just managed 31 points in what some might say atrocious weather condition. Imagine if it was sunny and hot!!
Old School Rugby, before the wimps and weenies took over. Imagine! Rain on a tropical island. Who knew? The Fijians were clearly having a lot more fun in the wet than the Force were. One season we played all but one match in heavy rain. Called ourselves “The Mud Puppies” (points for that reference). Loved tackling the opposition into the drainage pools alongside the pitch. Contest for the biggest bow wave (forwards always won). No point in taking your kit off before showering, as it was already saturated and you had to get some of the mud off first. Great laughs all around.
So good, what a superman slip and slide try. Would like to see a side on of tiatias try tbh, looks like he dropped that, didn't have control. Just needing to be in contact with the ball by some degree these days is average
It is why Fijian warriors make such superb SAS troopers. From an old Brit who knows it. They suffer with a big smile and fight like tigers defending their cubs (mates).
My condolences to the groundsmen who were quite possibly getting drunker and drunker as the game, and the rain, went on and on. What a nightmare to deal with come the start of the working week.
And some idiot named Paul Cully or whatever his name is said conditions were unplayable, Force couldn't adapt and the home side literally had to bring out an actual Drua to sail all over the paddock with literally wet sails. 😉 Just another rugby game in Fiji during the wet months November-April. 😁
I can't believe they let them play on that pitch. At school, playing with concussion or broken bones was normal but a waterlogged pitch was a no go due to the risk of drowning if a scrum collapsed or you got caught at the bottom of a ruck etc. It was literally the only health and safety rule we had.
@@johndexter9922 I think you're confusing drowning with swimming 😆. If anyone ended up face down in one of those puddles with hundreds of kg's of Rugby player pinning them down they could have been in a lot trouble
Bro it was upgraded to a red...why are you still crying????it is what it is..luckily it wasn't a hot sunny day..where the the body turns red and pink from the heat..
This is a huge problem for NZ rugby, losing the SA franchises and replacing them with lesser quality teams, infrasctucutre and audiences etc... Super rugby is going to struggle to make much money going forward, if SA leave the rugby championship that could be the end of NZ and Aus as super powers
Wow! Another South African thinking that the rugby world revolves around them lol please send down your rugby Gods to bless us with your rugby knowledge
Not South African lol. But are you telling me Super rugby has improved since they left? As a welshman I dont want their clubs in the URC, or want them in the 6 Nations, but when they do itll be bad for NZ
Gee that's poor tackling and defense by the Pacific team. Blues lads must think they better than what they are. Won't be truly competitive if this is the standard they measuring and testing themselves against. What a complete walk over. How do Blues fans even watch this. It's boys vs men. No contest. Might as well watch paint dry.
Needs to be a minimim standard in terms of turf/stadiums. These guys are playing under water and that ground looks like it’s retaining every drop of water applied to it. Ultimately it undermines quality of playmanship. If the islands can’t improve their facilities they shouldn’t be allowed to participate in a “world class competition” Look at 4:16. A kick landed landed in a pool of water behind the try line without naturally bouncing out of play as it would have in most cases, instead gave drua and unfair try by virtue of the shittiest ground ever played on. Way to lower the standards super rugby.

Yes couldn't tell what colour jerseys were cause it was so muddy so had to look at their face to recognize them n pass
Fijian wet season for you right here 😊
Loved the rain as a forward. Not so much when playing in the backs.
I played the wettest game of my career in OK City as well strangely.
Meanwhile us poor backs stood around waiting for passes that never came and slowly died of hypothermia
The kicking duty by Ravula was a window wiper thru the rain... enormous win for the Drua.
Beating the Force doesn't really count as an enormous win for anyone. The Drua are a great team, beating the Force is just a formality for them.
@@tinymahuta this is the Drua's first time beating the Force in Super Rugby...lowkey a big deal for a team in only its 3rd season

What about those boots of Ravula, 90% of points today. Wow. Toso Drua
It must've been lit playing in these conditions, wet weather rugby was always my favourite 😅🔥
Yep. Wet weather is the marker for great all-rounders. Hard tracks can flatter players at times; mud and rain and wind sorts that out.

The number 10 of Drua is a great player. Future of Fidji team
