Google “proprioception”. It’s essentially the body’s ability to protect itself subconsciously during a specific task. When your specific task is rugby, and you’ve played for years, your body learns to absorb impact while taking the least amount of damage, ie.: lifting your noggin to avoid a collision with another noggin. It’s fascinating and, as a former American footballer through college, theres much to learn here.

@@nickvoulgaris , If you compare elite RB to Tuisova, you’ll notice Tuisova has more One-on-One scenarios where he cleanly knock people’s socks off, no matter how big or small. Most RB has more scenarios where they are only out pacing defenders with there speed cause defenders had to turn and catch them, resulting in them just pulling the RB Jersey or diving. But Rugby wingers has more “mano emano” one on one duals, compared to football. Yes, ray lewis may have a one on one with some elite like Bettis, but stuff like that rarely occurs again due to the games blockage setplay. With rugby, if ray and Bettis were rugby players, because there’s no blockage, there would be a greater number they be squaring off with each other. That’s why rugby wingers are more skillful in bump off than RB cause they encounter a lot more hits in one on one moments
