I love the fact that Mizuno have brought this out instead of a zero-torque putter. Looking forward to trying them. You are quickly becoming one of the most intelligent and measured golf gear reviewers on UA-cam. Keep doing what you're doing!
I agree. Hannah, your technical knowledge is a welcome breath of fresh air to those of us who value that information and not just the marketing data the manufacturers feed us! Keep it up! Cheers from NYC!
This is genius! I did go to a putter fitting and ended up being told that I do best with a double bend shaft of 34" length. The heads seemed to be a matter of feel or taste. But, as you noted, most manufacturers don't make putter heads with a choice of shafts like they do for drivers. Being able to pick and choose components is a big change for the better.
Their original M-Craft line is/was excellent...forged, milled...very soft feel without an insert (a little less "click" than a Scotty). Weight kit came with it. I think this is a genius move; pairing the shaft/swing path you want with the putter head that most inspires confidence. A face balanced M-Craft Type IV (deep blade) would have been perfect for me (sadly, doesn't look like they'll offer that putter head). I'm currently playing the Type III M-Craft (black) face balanced (single bend) mid-mallet that has the single white line. Taking to heart your comment regarding aligning better without the line, I've put a piece a black electrical tape over it for practice; just using the sculpting of the metal to line up. We'll see how that goes...on the carpet in my office it works great, lol. Keep putting out the excellent content!
I played a round yesterday with the alignment line taped over and putted quite well, lol; deadly inside 5 feet. I think I just focused more. Maybe it's time to get out the Sharpie!
I have a mizuno putter, had it about a year. It came with weights and a tool in a nice little case. The grip felt quite good but changed it for a big fat super stroke. I’m a bit heavy handed so the 13 gram weights work well for me. To be fair it’s a nothing special blade style putter but I love it a lot!! Looking lovely out there if it’s ok to say!!
Its like a Meccano set for golfers ergo its awesome in concept. I would probably like the #5 head - its much like my current putter. Great vlog - excellent presentation as always Cheers
Great video Hannah interesting and innovative concept for putters. You again, explained and showed the differences and why’s of each design. Thank you for the informative content.
Really great idea by Mizuno so you can find the neck you like and then test which head works best. Another great review Hannah you speak in an easy to understand way that is relatable to us ordinary golfers
Great review Hannah, really surprised the industry hasn’t done this before. I bet all the other companies r&d teams are all looking at each other, going “Why didn’t we think of this?”.
I'm generally using my dad's Pinseeker brass putter from 1980's apart from it being far to long for me, its all I've ever used for putting. But I do love this innovation from Mizuno, their irons which I currently play are amazing too!
It does surprise me that companies haven't come out with "replaceable" putter heads before, given how long this tech has been available for drivers. Bravo to Mizuno! 🎉 That #6 had looked really good to me, as well. I like a mallet head putter, and I like the fact that that has adjustable weights. I'm intrigued with your comment that you putt better with no line on the head. I notice that the distance and speed with my mallet putter is better than my blade putter, but sometimes, seeing the black line "wiggle" during the stroke cause me to slightly turn, or jerk the face, which causes my putt to start off line, especially on shorter putts. I don't have that issue with my blade, but my distance control isn't as good. I may need to check that out (or just cover the line on the putter). 😂🤷
You might like to look up Dave Billings and his HOG and MACHINE putter designs. His company has been running for a couple of decades and I suspect where Mizuno may have had their kernel of an idea? Putters and putter designs are going to be very interesting going forwards given the stirring up Zero Torque has brought to the table…
Evnroll have done that for quite a few years, you can unscrew the shaft and the neck and interchange with any of their other neck options. Its a lot cheaper than buying a new putter.
Great review. Would love to see a review of Smithworks putters if you can get them. Small company with interesting products, based not too far from you in the North East of England.

Interesting video! I'm thinking about getting a decent putter later this year. I'm enthralled w/ the Square to Square torque control putter from Odyssey . . . but it really doesn't wow me when I putt with it. And I don't understand the whacky face angle / forward leaning shaft concept. This might be another option. Thank you!!
The forward lean in zero torque putters is because for most “normal” putters the shaft is either aligned with the centre of the shaft pointing at the front face or the back edge of the shaft points at the front of the face depending on hosel design. Because the zero torque putters have their shafts either joining or pointing at the centre of the putter often well behind the face, if you put your hands in the same place and there was no shaft lean the front of the putter is going to be way in front of where it is, on a “normal” putter. If you want your hands in the same place the forward lean allows you to deliver the putter at the correct loft without hitting up on the ball. What you do need to do however is move the ball position forward in your stance slightly to compensate for the offset putter face. It’s actually pretty straightforward but often not thought about and I think that’s why some people struggle with zero torque putters when they first pick them up.
@@turfinteractionsgolf Thank you for the great explanation. That does help me. I don't think I understood the thought behind most putters. It's compounded for me because I know I putt incorrectly, but I like being behind the ball and "pushing" it forward in front of me when I putt. When I do this w/ the zero torque it exaggerates the face angle and almost chips it - but I still putt it better. I do think if I worked on it I could adapt to having the ball more central in my stroke, and it likely would be an improvement for me. Again, thanks for the answer.
Hannah, Have u thought about playing golf with/against some american female/male golfers? Girls golf game channel is a good one and also the Bryan bros is another one i enjoy. @hannahholdengolf Awesome! Excited for the new content coming up! God bless and good luck, cheers from the USA! Oh and that mizuno putter is really interesting, u buy one but get like 3 with the different faces.
This is really interesting. I'm not someone that changes putter often. had only 2 in 30 years of golfing. Been playing my current putter for 20yrs but am thinking what i can do to improve and tweak with my putting to just get a little bit more consistent roll off the face.
@hannahholdengolf it will take a lot to pry me from Marilyn. She has good weight and never strays from the line I ask of her. If we go wrong it's always my fault
Mizuno have been making sneaky good putters for a few years. Please review the new Cleveland HB Soft 2 Black with the UST All-In shaft. I believe it might be dollar for dollar or UK pound for pound the best putter in golf.
ZT is the bandwagon. Definitely brave not to do one... I've always understood this as simply "1 style is cheaper at point of first purchase" - but lots of us have multiple putter styles and removable weights too. So multiple styles is more a fitting thing, then you commit to one.
@hannahholdengolf ok weird. For me it was that your talking ( soundwise) was already over, but your lips were still moving. Anyhow. The video is great and the mizuno putters look stunning. I would also choose the number 5. Keep the good content up Hannah 👍🏻
Good review but Lab and Void already do a much better offering. These look like the face is the same on each and it's just the main "block" of the head that adds on to the back. Not really that progressive in 2025! A better solution would be to have the putter "head" (bit on the end of the neck) to be smaller and then the different "attachments" to have far more choice. By having the same big size of that head, it limits the options for the choices of the "attachments". Nightmare to describe these :)
@@sumitagg1 I’ve not been paid to do this. There are lots of golfers out there who aren’t comfortable going for a fitting and find them intimidating. This gives them another option which I think is a good thing.
