That Driver is looking nice !
Thanks!
That was great. Love trying to get people to tee forward (and back) sometimes
Likewise, and thanks for the kind words.
Loving your videos mate, very easy to relate to and understand…keep up the great work
lol I can see my house. this round must have been shot a bit ago because the rough on this course has been dormant for a few weeks.
Small world! This was Oct 24.
Great visual holes and well played
Thank you!
@@NotAScratchGolfer Adam you do make amazing videos. The scenery of the courses is amazing. Very different to Western Australia 😂🇦🇺
Minus the off the planet pull on 9, this might be the best I’ve seen you drive the ball. Excellent round Adam!!
Thank you!
Enjoyed Revere a few years ago. Well played Adam.
Thank you! Yeah we enjoyed it!
I have become a pretty reliable bogey golfer and shot a +11 83 at my home course with tips from your previous upload in mind. Thanks for what you do, Adam. You’re my favorite golf resource on UA-cam!
Thanks for the kind words, and congrats on the 83!!
Your video title is very apt for me right now - I broke 80 for the first time this week, shooting +1 on the back nine. This was in no small part down to your videos and understanding course strategy. Thanks for everything you do Adam!
Thanks for the kind words, and congrats on the 1-over back!!!
Any updates on your equilateral triangle green reading technique video@@NotAScratchGolfer ?
I love teeing forward at certain courses as some holes can bring trouble or other challenges in play you that wouldn't otherwise consider playing back. And yes, exposes weakness in your shorter clubs.
Good point! A few days after this round, I teed it forward at Classic Club in California, and I frequently found myself taking less club off the tee in order to take trouble out of play.
Nothing gets me more excited than when you post a new video. Love your work.
seriously? great channel and all but damn
Started doing this for winter conditions. Really helping my game. Thanks for posting
Good stuff, Keith!
I'm actually playing from the gold tees at the moment because I have zero shot from the tee box.
It's actually quite embarrassing.
Embrace it!
Another gorgeous course to add to the collection, and a very well played round to you sir!
Thank you!
@@NotAScratchGolfer your game is just getting better and better just with the confidence to shoot low!
Love this! With my buddies, used to play (when I played weekly, instead of monthly) we would play front, middle, back tees rotatinf over 18 holes...and its really fun and different and as you said EXPOSES where a golfer needs work
Alternating each round is smart - allows ya to see the golf course in a different way!
Good round Adam! I generally play 6200 to 6500 but occasionally move up to the white tees, which are 6000 for us, and generally shoot par or just over par. I think our games would match up well, although, I’m 55 years old and I’m only 5’9” so my body & back doesn’t allow me to play more than a few times a week. All those years of Junior A hockey have caught up to me. 😂
I will probably try the front tees now since the season is over. I shot my best score ever two weeks ago because I implemented many of your strategies.
Good stuff Frank, and congrats!
i'm new to the channel and enjoying it, just one thing I notice, your handicap may be lower than presented, of course depends on course rating, so not suggesting otherwise. One tip I suggest is establish a pre shot routine, I notice you hurry on almost everyshot and that's when you run into trouble. Take your time you'll break par. Hope to see you out there one day.
Very much with you on two things here. You have to experience what it's like to go low, for your skill level, so your brain processes that it's an outcome to look forward to. I played up two tees, to 5800, the other day and carded my career low round. Was I hitting a lot of wedges? Yes, but as you said, you've still got to make the shots. And second, hitting the ball in play off the tee is the key for so many people. A lot of players who are struggling to break 100 would do it virtually instantly if you gave them 12 fairways hit. Hitting three off the tee is the death knell for a golf score. Lastly, look at this round. You didn't make as many putts as you wanted, but still shot three over. You could easily have shot par or better if the putter was hot. You gave yourself those chances and if you do that enough, they will eventually start falling. Play some boring* golf!
*Boring golf is awesome!
Haha yes, boring golf is good golf is a great mantra. And agreed re: your two points! And congrats on the low round!
Best thing about Australia is there isn’t an off season for golf 🫡
Need to get there one day!
Driver was on today 👌
Don't watch hole 9 😁
A round with a 3 or 4 wood off the tee might be worth a test. Driverless regardless of front/back tee.
True
Can you add your differential to the end screen? I'm always curious to see it, especially since you play a variety of courses (and occasionally tee boxes).
Ack, I usually do this but forgot to in this vid!
Sometimes it’s hard to play any closer than the middle tees cause of the sheer pressure of being macho, sorry to say. But playing with older guys, they don’t care and they’re happy to have you join them on the forward tees. You still have to hit the shots. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the game more.
Agreed, Stefan!
Shoot, 6k yards is the tee box I always shoot for. Lol
If it's consolation, this felt like it played shorter than 6K given the elevation changes and the heat!
@@NotAScratchGolfer ah, gotcha, ya that makes sense. Makes the club selection a little tricky. But you made it look easy...nice round!
Legit 👊🏾
Thanks, bud! Come down to PS! ;)
Looks like a fun course. Where else did you play in Vegas? Any luck at the tables?
Yeah it's a good track! We also played at a private track called Canyon Gate + Rio Secco and Bear's Best Las Vegas. This was my first trip ever to Vegas without a second spent at the tables! We were running around playing lots of golf!
Hey Adam, curious if you'd ever consider coming to Colorado.
Hoping to get out there this Spring!!
👏👍Adam. A new competitor with Rick S for "Breaking 75" ?😉
haha maybe if I get to keep teeing it up from 6k yards!
Would love to get your thoughts on what tees to play from. Most of my typical courses here in Texas are Black, Blues, Whites, Red. Everytime I play with friends, they insist on playing from Blues. I currently have the shortest driver swing out of my friends (About 220-230 Carry), and I typically have to use longer irons (6 and below) for my second shots even if I end up on the fairway. Do you think thats a clear sign that I need to be hitting further up at the white tees? I don't have any ego thoughts here, just wanted to get your thoughts.
What do you typically score from the blues? I usually play the standard men’s tees at my local course (6250) instead of the tips (6850) because even though I have the length (~275 total with driver, 170 carry with 7 iron) I still haven’t broken 80 from the standard tees. I will play from the tips occasionally but I would prefer to be able to score lower from the standard tees first.
It also depends on what you want out of the round. When I play socially I will usually play from wherever my partners tee off.
FYI, 220-230 carry is more than the vast majority of golfers get, so your friends are LONG hitters. My general take is "play what makes you happy." For me, consistently approaching with long irons/hybrids/woods takes a lot of joy out of the game. I'd tee it one box up in your shoes, but again, do what makes ya happy!
Thanks for the reply. I love your approach to the game and i've learned alot about course management through your videos. @@NotAScratchGolfer
I just started breaking into the 80s. When i hit fromt he blues i typically shoot high 80s low 90s. My long irons and overall distance is something i'm still working on. My 7 iron carries about 155. I do want to score lower but it also feels kind of strange being the only one to tee off from the whites. @@danielhowell167
Do you have a link to the equipment you use to film your shots? I'm looking for a smartphone stand to record my swings at the range. Thanks!
Adam where is this? I searched description and comments - couldnt find it.
This is Revere (Concord Course) in Henderson, Nevada!
Hey Adam, I was curious about your experience in traveling via airplane with your clubs. I am wanting to plan a golf trip but am hesitant about my clubs getting lost in travel. Any input is appreciated.
Hey there! I actually just use a soft shell case I purchased dirt cheap on Amazon. I used to remove heads from my driver/wood/hybrids before travel but for the last year or so I've just loaded the bag up, crossed my fingers, and hoped for the best! I've been lucky so far. Only one bag delay and no broken sticks. I have a few friends who put an Apple Air tag in their bag which is probably a good idea!
@NotAScratchGolfer thank you for your input, an air tag would be a brilliant idea!
Adam,
Have you considered a 5 utility iron instead of hybrid or SGI 5-iron?
Thanks,
Shane
Hey Shane! Sometimes I rotate a 5H in the bag in place of the 5 iron. Do you use a utility iron, and if so, which one?
@@NotAScratchGolfer I use a couple as hybrids and I don’t really get along. I have played the Srixon U85 3 and 4. Currently I play the Exotics Ti-Utility 4. I don’t really get along with too many hybrids. I have an Apex UW 17° that I really like. Mainly because it has a neutral face.
I flirt with par too, then I have those days I shoot 85 from 6000 yards and wonder what the hell I’m doing. If you’re ever out East, let me know.
Good stuff as usual but front tees?? That was the whites, the normal mens tees and 6k yards, the front tees would be the ladies or red tees. To be perfectly honest, most men golfers belong at those tees all the time. I'm 62 and that's the distance I go for as well as a 10.4 index. We do the front tees (reds) once a month or so for the same reasons you mentioned in this video.
You're right! I will say that these tees played quite a bit shorter than 6k in practice. A lot of 270+ yard drives for me out there thanks to elevation change.
How does teeing forward affect one's handicap calculation?
Each teebox is given a different rating/slope, so in theory your score gets normalized when factoring into handicap calculation.
The difference between front and back tees at my local is no more than 2m. It's quite pathetic.
That's frustrating!
Disappointed by the lack of playing partners' nudity in this video, I thought you were making a pivot into an only fans golf channel 😆
Lol. Coming soon?
