Nice gear MSR. This looks great. I like the reactor types. The one i use is great. Fast boil nice and compact and stable on the ground. Send it to me please. I’ll give you 4.00 crates of prime Blexine. 👍
Yeah, you've got the Mars radiant haven't you? They're a great design - this is an absolute beast - with my amazing culinary effort on camps (aka boiling water), this particular stove cannot be beaten on boil time. Even in sub zero temps - it's insane. Hot water in a few mins if that. Send mature violet ground beetle.
I use an MSR Rocket with a titanium pan. The combination seems quite similar to this stove. I do however like the all-in-one feature of this one. Saves packing down the stove. I like the wind guard feature. That makes the stove more efficient. Perhaps with a bigger gas canister the stove might sit a bit high but tipping over is probably unlikely. I like the simmer option the burner has. If you’re cooking noodles with a sauce it might stop burning and make washing up easier. I cycle tour and reckon one of these (inc gas)?would fit nicely in a pannier pocket. Nice one Chris 👍
@@infour44 there's a few different options, for me the 1.0L is perfect. Like I've said, I've owned the bigger version for donkeys years - it's the fastest stove I own in terms of water boiling. Granted, if you like to use a pan to fry etc, it's no use but for the type of food I usually eat on camps it can't be beaten for speed and efficiency which ultimately saves £ re gas.
Never had any difficulties - owned the large version for around 20 years. Quick flick of a fire steel and all good 👍 I hate piezo systems as they usually fail!
Beautiful looking stove Chris. Certainly looks extremely well made (as we would expect from MSR) and I don’t doubt for a second what you say about its boiling efficiency. I see from the pack-shot that it also has a built-in regulator, so could be used for heating food directly. Not being negative as I love all those assets, but it’s a bit of an (expensive) one-trick pony for anyone who doesn’t only want to make drinks or cook packet meals, so not for everyone😮. Great reason to own more than one stove though 😁
Always great to own more than one stone! Like I mentioned, for water boiling (which is pretty much all I do these days), this is unbeatable in terms of speed and efficiency. The old original is still going strong and has been a welcome brew maker on some baltic camps when other stoves were lagging around in the cold! Thanks for watching pal 👍
Not that I'm aware of - this is purely a water boiler - so for someone that uses dehydrated meals or wants a rapid brew no matter what the wind / weather is doing, this is unbeatable in terms of speed.
For the below video I used Camping Moon 4Flex stove with 3200 watt output and the XTSPot. Together they are very efficient. *** seems some problem to post link to vid*** will try your mail
Seems the MSR Reactor boils 2 cups in 90 seconds, and the system in my vid boils 2 cups in 60 seconds. Perhaps you can do a comparison vid? I'm not much of a videographer myself, but you are really good at it. I think your viewers would like to see the comparison.
@@MCMOutdoorsI have the MSR Wind Pro 2 and love it as a winter stove, especially when the canister can be inverted when the pressure drops. Been fancying a radiant stove for boiling water for brews and dehydrated meals, that certainly looks well made.
I just got mine in the mail today feb4, ordered from outdoorplay. It’s the new version for $269. This video pushed me over the edge to buy it after wanting one for a while. The build quality is impressive. I can’t wait to fire it up! Great video btw.

Great review Chris.👍
Just a brief unboxing to show the new handle - one of my favourite stoves for speed and efficiency 👍
totally agree, nothing beats it, i have the 1.7l version. friends have the jetboil type turned on before i've set mine up and it still beats them 👍
Yes, I've used pretty much every type of stove on the market - I've never had anything that beats this for sheer boil time and efficiency
Fab little stove.
El Rapido! Faster than our house kettle!

MSR Reactor is a great stove but I went for the Primus Ulti 1L. I did find the MSR difficult to light in windy conditions.

So the pot handle is the only update compared to the old model as far as I can tell?
Correct - nothing else needed changing. As stated, the handle needed to be redisgned.
Is there an attachment to enable you to sit e.g. a frying pan on that domed burner?
Not that I'm aware of - this is purely a water boiler - so for someone that uses dehydrated meals or wants a rapid brew no matter what the wind / weather is doing, this is unbeatable in terms of speed.
Does the heat exchanger lock onto the burner buddy?
@@darrenbanks7048 no mate, it sits securely on.

Thanks John - I've received your clip and if it's okay, I will use that clip in a comparison video in due course 👍
@@MCMOutdoors Sure, you can use the clip.
Nice looking stove mate. What is the weight.
430g for the 1.0L system. It is unbeaten for boil speed...... I've had one for years, a much larger version. Still going strong.

Nice! Yes, this is solid. For a water boiler, I genuinely have never tried a faster or more efficient stove in almost 30 years.
Hey, is this a new version from 2025? They are pretty much out of stock everywhere.
Yes it is - they're not released for sale just yet
@@MCMOutdoorsthank you. That’s great news. I’ll be waiting for it to come out. 😊thanks again
