We just put some swings on the same Ruckus (black paint) with Brandon Traylor. He was hyping it up but I was skeptical. After swinging it for myself, the hype was all real. This thing has crazy pop out of the wrapper. I was also really surprised how much I liked it even though it had a pretty flexy handle, since I'm usually more of a stiff handle guy. The Ruckus was lights out for cut swinging as well.
You guys should check out older softball bats. I have a Worth EST XTra from 2000 that was new in plastic till about a year and a half ago. That thing hits BOMBS and ASA hasn’t banned it yet. Some of the older 2 piece softball bats were wild.
Hey will, idk if you saw my other comments but I have a old scandium alloy slowpitch bat and I’ve hit with it, IT IS GAS! ⛽️I was wondering if you guys wanted to use it and comapre it to the new bats cause I’ve hit with both and it definitely hangs in terms of pop and it’s a more durable option, dosent lose compression either!
I have watched a ton of your videos. When I was a teenager softball in my area was huge. You guys always say how the bats went through the roof a bit. Idk if you ever heard of the t n pauly ball I think was it’s name. Hardest ball I ever used. I think it was a .75 core. When the guys drug the 34” 35oz plus bats to the plate. Those stayed hard all season. You could use them for batting practice and they still flew a mile. After those our league went to .50 core white heats. Pretty hard ball also. Then .47 super blue dots. Great ball. At this point the first of the better bats starting coming out. The original dimarini ultimate weapon and there the original dimarini double wall. It was a great time to play mid 90s.

I swing the Suncoast CE as my gamer. It is absolutely ⛽️⛽️⛽️🔥🔥🔥and I will not put anything else in my bag expect Suncoast.
The skinny handle on the suncoast was a different feel but it was still great.
Even miss hits felt amazing and the ball would fly. I’m not a big guy, 5’10 220 and the ball was flying off the bat.

i like the Dawe better than the Ruckus Max...for some reason the Max just swung heavier...pop was good but felt harder to get around....I game the Genesis and sold my Ruck12 and do not regret one bit...great vid as always
The max swings heavier because the Dawe is balanced. I have them both. The dawe is great for late tournament when im tired from playing all day and my swing doesnt feel as strong.

For me I have been playing all year with the bay area conference b team me and most of our guys have been swinging the sun coast competitive edge all year and it is not only durable but one of the hottest 240s in any condition regardless of the heat with the ball and the feel is amazing the Louisville‘s may be a little hotter, but the sun coast in my opinion feels the best out of any 240 I have personally swung . How is the reliability on the suncoast? They have so many options that it makes my head hurt. 12 or 13 inch barrels in one or two piece along with balanced or end load. Why choose the 13 over the 12 or the 1 piece vs the 2 piece??
The Sun-coast bat is not USA rated, which the Miken Freak KP23.

I've swung the KP23 2022 model in this video several times. here's the difference: The 2020 model KP23 is hotter out of the wrapper. Put 100-200 swings on the KP23 and it'll open up a bit more. The exit velo is definitely higher. What this video simple fails to show is the actual potential of the bat. It's not a knock on the SBB - it's the fact that the new 240 compression bats take MUCH longer to break in because the composite material is more rigid out of the wrapper. Period... like, there's no way around it. If you can't put BP on the 240 stamp bats that give it hundreds of legit hits you won't open it up fully. The benefit is the KP23 in 2022 will almost certainly outlast the old 120 stamp USSSA bats which are less durable across the board (they can still be durable it's just depending on a lot of factors). But the KP23 2022 model I swung was a 27 oz and I drilled balls. I hit 2 HRs with it after having a pretty bad slump and swinging the Miken Freak Primo Maxload 26oz from 2022. I moved to the KP23 and made a little timing adjustment and I blew the ball back up like I was earlier in the season. Went back to hitting doubles and homers. Shoot - I put so much spin on a softball that my line drive went from left-center to the left-line between the shortstop and the left-fielder by the time it hit the ground. The fence I hit over was 285 down the line but it has a 30' net fence you must clear to get a homer (so basically hit a legit 300'+ homer).
I coach high school softball in Oklahoma and we are one of the few states that still play slowpitch. The entire state can only use aluminum bats and no composite bats of any kind. My girls used to swing the Mercy bats and they got so hot everyone started using a mercy. What would you recommend for high school girls to swing that’s not composite? We can’t even use the half and half bats.

I noticed the bats you test are mostly 26/27oz. Is there an advantage over the 28oz? What is your preference?
Lighter bats = faster bat speed. That's the advantage. Bat speed tends to be king for most hitters in softball. That being said, if you have good grip strength and core strength and put great bat speed behind a heavier bat, you actually hit the ball "harder". It's a physics truth - more mass produces more energy against and object (a larger/heavier mass object striking pavement will do more damage to the pavement versus a smaller/lighter object at the same speed). Hopefully that makes sense. Players have moved to 26/27 versus 28-30 like the old days of softball because people realized they'd rather have better barrel control and bat speed over heavier barrel that's not as easy to control and you usually lose a little bat speed (or you tire out faster).
This might sound dumb but.... I play in a Co-ed slow pitch wood bat league. Could test some wood bats with different softballs?

How does the Comp Edge compare to the regular 2021 Ruckus 12” endload
I bought a 12" kp23 2019, and didn't like it. The sweetspot on my DC41 2019 feels way bigger. If you're a rec player stick witj the 14" barrel.
I’ve noticed the 12” barrels usually keep compression better but are no where near the 14” barrels cause they hit the ball further and have a better sweet spot
For Senior rec leagues this a tough pill to swallow, but I haven't seen anyone swing a composite that makes me want to put the 2018 DeMarini Steel on the shelf. Ball is soft, and I ain't Will!

Anyone try the 2023 KP23 yet and know if there's any changes/differences? I had the 2022 and had the handle cap break. Was under warranty but it looks like they may have run out of '22 KP23s and they're sending me the 2023 variant. I would hope it's an improvement over an already nice bat - I didn't feel like the 22 KP23 was a monster bomb-hitter but felt great in my 60-70 swings before the handle broke on me. I felt like I could easily tag the fence with the way it was balanced.
