Oh the memories, the smells, the shaking and to and froing! The excitement of such adventurous travel compared to a plain old bus,…at the age of 5 onwards that was! I loved it, as did so many others! That tiny little Terrier loco growling and barking away in the shadow of the seemingly enormous carriages too! Having said all that, if you drove on and off the island, it was a real headache with tailbacks galore! Still, a nicer era than today I believe, the world is in an unsafe mess!Cheers all!

An act of vandalism stopping this beautiful little railway!!!
I only remember going on the Puffing Billy once, as a small child.
I do remember hoping to see her at Havant station every time we passed through
I remember the Puffing Billy - just!
I was allowed to ride on the footplate of the puffing billy when I was 10 years old, happy Memories
lucky you Trevor....i lived on hayling for a few years in the late 1950s and used the Hayling Billy to go to work in Havant..great days.
It's a shame it is not running anymore my grandad went on the hayling Billy line train
