  • In this tutorial, I demonstrate the primary lead and rhythm electric guitars part for "Praise You Anywhere" by Brandon Lake from his album, From the Praise Pit. All other electric guitars were muted in this track, the only ones you're hearing are on screen.
    I'm using my full analog pedalboard featuring dual ToneX pedals. For this song I chose captures from @Tone_Factor
    Left: AC30 6TB Breakup 76D
    Right: Benson Breakup 76D
    See below for my full list of pedals on my board and what I'm using for each part in this song.
    You can learn more about me on my website at the link below. In the near future I'll be releasing more content for the Fractal FM9 and my personal captures for the ToneX.

      I appreciate that Jacob 🙏🏼 I spent some time really finding the right delay and verb settings which really shape the tone so much. I discovered that the original part most likely used a dual delay (1/4 note main delay with 1/8 note delay that has a lower mix but high repeats). It’s subtle but makes a difference. Love little things like that.

    it is impressive how we sometimes say like God is going to take us out from this situation, but as you just said. WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE TRIAL. Always remembering that God´s will is much better and higher than ours, even if he would wants us to die in the trial... we have to lift praise to him. Our worship is in everything, through the trial and the joy, through the mountain and the valley!
    BTW beautiful tone

      Couldn’t have said it better myself! God often uses pain for His purposes. We would all prefer for Jesus to simply heal us, but like Paul experienced with the thorn in his flesh, his pain led him to lean on the sufficient grace of God and let God’s power be magnified in His weakness.

    I have a question how do I figure out what to play like where to put my fingers and what strings to hit and do I need a bunch of fancy equipment to play like the top guitar

    • @thetoneshepherd
      @thetoneshepherd  4 місяці тому

      The video itself is supposed to help you learn what to play. If you watch carefully and pause a bit, you can learn by sight and by ear. As far as gear, the top guitar is my least expensive guitar ($500 new). The effects I’m using cost quite a bit but you don’t “need” all of that. You could likely find very very close tones out of a Line 6 HX Stomp or another modeler.

    Is the rhythm underneath verse 1 pre-recorded/in a loop sampler? I ask because the bottom guitar isn’t being played but I’m hearing strumming in between leads and you say in the description that all guitars are on the screen. TIA! I am trying to come up with a song map for myself of when to switch between lead and rhythm electric parts as I am the only electric guitarist in our praise band and we would like to do this song coming up soon.

    • @thetoneshepherd
      @thetoneshepherd  9 місяців тому +1

      Hey my friend! The strumming you hear is an acoustic guitar. All other electric guitars are muted. You could strum what the rhythm electric is doing in the Choruses for the verses as well. Or use a similar clean tone as that and just strum basic G-shape chords like an acoustic would if you don’t have an acoustic player.

    • @gnagdogg21
      @gnagdogg21 9 місяців тому

      We do have an acoustic player, but he is doing the basic shapes and I just love that higher register, almos “80’s” strat sound in the recording. But to jump between rhythm tones and lead parts is proving quite a gymnastics routine! haha. I’m sure I’ll come up with a workable part, but I appreciate the response :)@@thetoneshepherd

    • @thetoneshepherd
      @thetoneshepherd  9 місяців тому

      It's a tough one. And yeah, the strumming on the acoustic part is not super easy to nail. However, on taking another listen to the soloed AG2 track, I think you can get really close to that sound by capoing and playing a G shape there, just throw your pinky up two more frets to add that high note in there and then just practice that specific strum pattern (same as the rhythm electric guitar) and you'd be 90% of the way there. The original track definitely has more layers going on than can be covered by one acoustic anyway.
