      Playing this next Sunday and this will help fast track the learning. Thanks so much. Such a great song musically, lyrically and spiritually. Loved the devotion at the end too. Thanks so much!

    Thanks God there’s still channels like this. There are many channels called "Worship" but they have nothing of that. I like what you are doing. May God keeps blessing you.

    Great playing and tones but REALLY loving the devotional about the song! As worship leaders, being in the word and understanding what we’re playing and singing is so much more important than nailing the right parts and tones. Keep this up 🙌🏼

      Thanks for your encouragement Lucas! It's my aim to never release a tutorial without a devo so you can count on more of this in the future.

    These videos must take a tremendous amount of skill and time to produce. Best format, look, playing, tone, resourcing, and devotional content I've ever seen. Just absolutely incredible to me.

      Thank you Cameron. It does take some time. But I pray it helps people point their churches to Jesus! 🙌🏼🙏🏼

    I purchased your ToneX presets and used them for the first time tonight and WOW!! Finally have the tone that I’ve longed for in the digital world since I said goodbye to using tube amps! Thank you sir 🙏🏻

    Awesome job brother!! You nailed it; now I don't have to make a EG play-through 😂

      Hahaha thanks bro!! You could certainly put your own spin on it! This one is pretty much exactly what the original did. But there’s always room for new ideas. 🤙🏼

      @@thetoneshepherd Haha, I appreciate the support. In all honesty, I feel I enjoy recording bass tutorials more, although I love playing EG in church, so I think I'm going to gravitate more towards that. ☺

    Love this! great job! is there any chance you have the tab for this song?

    • @thetoneshepherd
      @thetoneshepherd  7 місяців тому

      Sorry brother, no tabs but hopefully the video is clear enough you can make it full screen and see the parts. Also, make sure to use UA-cam’s feature that lets you slow the speed down to really see the parts well.

    I have noticed that you mainly play guitars in the sub 1000$ catergory, with maybe some upgrades. Where obviously your board was the bigger investment. Would be cool to hear your thoughts on this.

    • @thetoneshepherd
      @thetoneshepherd  7 місяців тому

      Right you are! Multiple factors at play here. I do have a few "nice" guitars on the way that I ordered forever ago and just aren't done yet (Elliott, MJT Custom, etc.) so perhaps my opinion could change. But I truly believe that the pickups matter more than just about anything when it comes to the sound of a guitar. Of course feel, playability, intonation, etc. will improve greatly with a nicer guitar. But if you have the same pickups in an Elliott Tonemaster and a J Mascis Jazzmaster, they're going to sound the same (also assuming pickup height and pickup position relative to the bridge are the same). So I've just been loving the idea of getting several cheaper guitars with various pickups in them rather than fewer more expensive guitars that may limit my tonal exploration. For me, the goal would be to have the most pickup varieties I can to best serve the song live or in the studio. But it's all a moving target. I could easily see myself going to the opposite direction once I see the light with some nicer guitars haha.

    • @Gerhard468
      @Gerhard468 7 місяців тому

      @@thetoneshepherd I agree with pickups being the biggest contributor to tone, after that you need a guitar that is comfortable to play. So if those expensive guitars change your mind it would be interesting to know. Also loving ToneX but I don't have the pedal, I'm one of those weird guys playing apps live.
      Maybe this is just my opinion because realistically I can't afford the higher price tag.

    Hi, brother. Thanks for the video.
    How do you handle the panning of the guitars considering that, from what I understood, there are 2 guitars recorded in stereo?

    • @thetoneshepherd
      @thetoneshepherd  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! For this one, each guitar is simply layered on top of the other in stereo. Guitar one is hard panned left and right, guitar 2 is also hard panned left and right. Sometimes, if you are mixing a song in the studio I might choose to put one guitar further to the right or left. This would be done by simply lowering or raising the volume of one side of the hard pan.

    Are you putting your reverb before your amp?

    How are you liking the lambertrons? More fidelity than the blacktops?

    • @thetoneshepherd
      @thetoneshepherd  7 місяців тому +1

      My Gretsch didn’t have the blacktops so I can’t compare those directly. Mine came with the FT-5Es which actually sound quite close to the Lamber’Trons. But the LTs are enough better to warrant the change in my opinion. Just a tad more clarity

    • @2speedy4u22
      @2speedy4u22 7 місяців тому +1

      @@thetoneshepherd good to know. The new FT5es are definitely an improvement over the existing blacktops. So much so I’ve thought of upgrading my older blacktop gretsch with them as a budget upgrade. Sounds like the lambertrons are next level! Thanks for the feedback.
