    I just stumbled onto your channel today, and I'll be watching your playlist for this adventure! I've completed dozens of IronButts over the past 30 years, but I didn't start exploring the small-bore lifestyle until about 8 years ago. Since then, I've toured around the USA almost exclusively on small motorcycles and scooters. It's so much more enjoyable to ride slow and absorb the scenery than to blast through it (and miss everything) just to get to the other end. Cheers, and thanks for the videos! 😉👍 --QM

      Awesome, I see you have videos from the scooter cannonball, I'll be watching them, finally someone that makes really long videos like me and goes into detail. It's on my bucket list to do the event at some point 😁

      @@RideWithAlex You might be interested in the 2021 Scooter Cannonball playlist first. My buddy (Adrian) and I rode identical 2019 Honda Super Cub C125's 10K miles (16K+ km's) around the USA in 23 days... while pulling trailers behind our bikes AND motocamping the entire trip! We averaged 435 miles/day (700 km) with a few days over 570 miles (920 km). That was brutal torture, but it was an epic adventure! We had ZERO failures for the Cubs or trailers during that trip.
      I rode the 2023 Scooter Cannonball on a 2015 Honda PCX150, but I experienced a lot more challenges and failures. I completed the event, but I had two down days waiting for replacement parts. The failures created a memorable experience, so it wasn't all bad! 😉👍 --QM

    Yes, NO PLANS is GOOD! Just a flexible, general direction & let whatever happens,…… happen?! Plans, time tables, schedules are disastrous, seldom work and no fun?! You’re on the right track with “who knows what will happen”, (in life)?????! Carry on with “maybe” it’ll work, maybe it won’t⁉ You’re good with me, (& Donnie)‼👍🏻 Rola (Oregon / USA).

    Thank you for such an inspiring video! I have a question regarding the bike: what parameters should you consider before choosing the right bike for such a trip? Also, what does break most frequently during such a long trip? I am planning to buy Honda 125i and do 20 000km long trip, do you think the scooter will handle it? Thank you very much! :)

    • @RideWithAlex
      @RideWithAlex  Місяць тому

      Fuel range is a big factor to take into consideration and how comfortable are you on it. In terms what to watch out for on the trip is your oil level and thinks that you might need to repair is a puncture and rarely a drive belt or a variator change. But if you stick to oem parts even on small cc scooters the drive belt is rated for at least 12.000km and a variator 30-40.000km

    I returned from Istanbul a few days ago, I drove tourists by bus and I note that you should pay special attention to the traffic in and around Istanbul, because I know that you will stay there for sure one day. Drivers and pedestrians do not respect traffic rules to a large extent. They are not afraid of buses of 13.5 meters and 20 tons, they will certainly not be afraid of your motorcycles. Please note, do not rely on traffic rules, you better open two pairs of eyes when you are in Istanbul. In 50% of cases, drivers and pedestrians pass a red light at a traffic light or enter an intersection at a STOP sign without looking. GREAT CAUTION !!! I just wanted to share my experience with you, because I was shocked.

      @@RideWithAlex I'm sorry if my comment is overbearing, but trust me, I just wanted to draw your attention to security. Istanbul is a beautiful city, but too big, with 19-20 million inhabitants ... it's total madness when the traffic is crowded!😂

    • @RideWithAlex
      @RideWithAlex  2 роки тому +1

      @@rilson80 it's not overbearing, I like a challenge. The whole point of the trip is the challenge. If i really wanted just to see Baku I could have flown there, or ride something like a Goldwing straight shot and be done with it. But the bigger the challenge the greater the sense of achievement when you do it, plus the adventure along the way :D

      @@ALEX_HARI_VLOG My stock ones are 14.5 and the same 85-90 cruise and 110 max, going to try 18g and see what happens.
