For my X50, I'm installing 2 apk files only which are Maps5 and Spotify using the file in the link. It was a smooth process. the downloading period for ES and apk files are shorter for my case. My Spotify works perfectly. I can sign in to my acc and I can play the music. But unfortunately, for Maps5, I can't sign in, I cant update the latest Maps, and when searching for directions, there is a message that the apps cannot detect my location. Are there any missing steps to use the Maps? Secondly, after finishing installing the apk files, should we remove/delete the ES files? Thank you again ;)
1. You cannot login Google Maps because it require Google services to be installed. So no you will have to just use it as is. 2. For Waze you can login but using email account. 3. No you don't have to uninstall ES file explorer just leave it in case you want to install other items in the future.
@@drxxavier One other offline map app I can recommend is Petal Maps from Huawei, Petal Maps can work with both online and offline and no need to depend on Google Maps or Waze. I had used Petal Maps and its almost as identical to Google Maps with some changes.
Is it possible that the Head Unit or HU will not detect the USB even if formatted as Fat32? My Usb unable to detect by the HU even its formatted as Fat32
@@fpx-nerdgaming7744 I've used a SanDisk one before and after some time it becomes not recognizable anymore by the IHU. I'm not sure why. Now i'm using a pendrive from USAMS.
Not all app you can update. The reason why out dated apks are used because the IHU is running a very slow and old processor. The IHU is also just running on android 5 so updating an app might render it useless on the head unit.

once you are on Atlas. even if you factory reset it will not go back to GKUI. so don't need to try. The only way to get back GKUI requires you to do a risky re-image your IHU which i don't nessasary recomend
For Gmaps cannot login. Waze, spotify, Netflix can. Don't update yo latest versions as the IHU is running android 5.0 only and the latest versions of apps may ot be compatible.

After reading the chats to and fro here, wouldnt it be safer to use Mirrorlink your more powerful smartphones and use Google Maps or Waze instead of installing an Android OS which after install, you aren't able to downgrade to GKUI? After installing to Android or the OEM Atlas, its like the point of no return and you have to live with your mistakes and cannot be rectified unless you replace the OEM HeadUnit altogether. Will the 360 camera even work? This will work for some ppl not for everyone. For those who made it work, congrats but for others, sorry...its your own fault for trying. Rm8200 for a headunit is way too costly.
We understand where you are coming from. But if you've used the unit after sideloading the apps you don't even need your phone anymore. Also, I don't want to burn my phone screen on a long journey with QD link. On QD Link the screen doesn't turn off that is just killing my expensive phone.

For spotify you need to login your spotify from your PC web browser. Once you know your email and password you can login your IHU with that email and password. You cannot use FB and Google to login from tour IHU. It won't work because the IHU doesn't have FB and google services.

yes it is possible. I had that issue with certain pendrive as well. Try different pendrives from different brands.

How to update the APK? It stated the installed applications are outdated. An update is required. But when I press the update button, nothing happen.

not very sure what you mean by wifi option but you can select that in the settings under connections.

We actually use an Android Auto emulator by the name of Headunit Realoded. Just install it like how you do any other .apk apps.

When you say messed up. How is it messed up?
The Hi Proton command only works to open the app. It doesn't work to change anything inside the apps.
