I've been shooting Prvi Partizan/PPU out of all of my milsurp rifles for years as the good surplus ammo started to dry up over the last decade. No complaints about it from me! Good to know that they have a Garand-safe option.
I don't know why I spent 4 minutes watching someone unbox ammo and load en blocs but I sure did enjoy it. Cool video! Just bout some PPU for my M1 and can't wait to test it.
ITs good stuff! and importantly its SAFE for M1s. You cant shoot modern production ammo without putting in an adjustable gasblock... and to be honest modern 30-06 is brutally overpriced hunting ammo anyways!
1000% agree. If the greek surplus/korean surplus was like, 25-50 cents a round, i'd recommend that, but now these companies are charging $1.05-1.15 a shot. What do you get for that money: corrosive ammo, old powder, and difficult/impossible to reload crimped primers....
PPU is pretty good. I did have a malfunction with it once that caused my M1 Garand to fire two rounds with one pull of the trigger. A gunsmith I know told me that's a sign to stay away from that ammo. He's seen M1's get cracked receivers from ammo that regularly caused slam fires. It only happened once but I put a garandgear gas plug in my M1 to eliminate the chances of damaging my rifle. Probably over cautious but Garands require very consistent 30-06 pressures and I have doubts about the consistency of eastern European 30-06.
it is quite possible that you had a very soft primer in that case. If you wanna absolutely make sure --> get an adjustable gas block. I have one and even on the absolutely maxed out gas setting it barely runs PPU/PRVI garand safe ammo, so that tells me that the ammo is safe. Every gun is different!
@@boltforward3611 Makes sense, I've had a few problems with 8mm mauser ppu primers in the past. I have the adjustable one too but I use it to run .30-06 hunting ammo. I knew I was probably making a mountain out of a mole hill.
@@dancortes3062 You can never be too safe with your stuff. If M1s were $50 and could be bought anywhere, who cares if one pops? You got something special, take care of it! If she wants fine wine and a fancy dinner, then you give that M1 what she asks for!!!
@@boltforward3611 I'm not going to stop using the aftermarket plugs. It's always better to be safe than sorry plus they reduce recoil and wear. I recommend them to anyone who has a Garand.

PPU the GREATEST in Garand food ! Let there always be never ENOUGH ! ! !

I remember when these were 13 per box at Sgammo.
If the ammo is "for M1 Garand," shouldn't the boxes come in 16 or 24 count?
its the same problem with hotdogs and hotdog buns...
