The Italian government has been preparing for years. They have been encouraging people for years to leave the Bay of Naples area. People are not satisfied with the amount of money being offered by the government. The amount of people in the area has grown but infrastructure has not. The roads are not proportional to the amount of people to be evacuated. Most people are not willing to disrupt their life and livelihood because of an uncertain risk of an eruption. It's a tough call and human nature usually takes the path of "wait and see."

Firstly there is no such thing as an over due eruption...also supervolcano's also do normal eruptions inbetween the bigger ones, so very likely that is all that will happen anyway. I have a saying....it's not the supervolcano you know about that is the problem, it's the one you do not know about! As time goes by it is becoming increasingly obvious that there are a great many more dangerous volcano's than anybody realised. Such as Ruang in indonesia....

IMPORTANT HOBBY TIP: If you live somewhere where you can`t grow food outside and you would like to grow tomatoes look up Pinocchio or Orange Hat micro tomatoes and the ways people grow them inside. Anyone can do it and there are lots of things that are far easier like various salad green types and things like basil. My Pinocchio orange tomato plants are only 8 inches tall and are absolutely LOADED with clusters of fruit and continuously blooming and it`s very easy to get cuttings and make more. My plants are nearly one year old right now.

There`s a very scary caldera lake in Germany too. Most people have no idea just how many of these huge volcanoes there are and how dangerous they are to all of us because of how agriculture can be disrupted. Not only that...but imagine heavy ice storms all the way to the lower parts of countries that rarely see them. We`ve been lucky...unusually lucky they say...so far.

I think you mean the Laacher See in the Eifel area. Been there, seen it. It's a beautiful lake. Many people don't know about its volcanic origin, no wonder, the eruption was 13,000 years ago, scientists estimate. The whole area is covered with remnants of volcanic events dating back 11,000 to 13,000 years, and you're right, many people don't even know that many of the lakes there (called "Maare") are in fact water-filled calderas. Today, it's just a beautiful landscape, sure worth a visit, and if another eruption could happen in our time is debated. According to the tourism industry, sure not, according to experts, they just don't know.

I pointed this out to Silki in the comments on her previous video on the Campi Flegrei complex.
And how we know now that there is a deep Mantle hydraulic hot fluid basalt conduit connecting Greenlands Enormous superplume that extends right down to the core mantle boundary, Along the great circle line from it's crustal throat at around 69N, 40W, thru the Iceland systems, Shetland Volcanic, Laacher see, and to the Naples Campi-Vesuvius complex.
As the Greenland ice reaches its cyclical peak Altitude, when basal Aquifer pressures reach up to 5000Psi above sealevel, the energy stored from the trapping of geothermal heat, being converted into chemical energy by dissociation of Water and dissolved light elements in ionic and free radical form in the magma body of the plume, reaches maximum.
Then the pressure cap of the Icesheet begins to fail at its fringes, and the hydrothermal bore blowout of the Continental Icesheet begins.
The drop in Icesheet basal hydrostatic pressure causes the release of some 57 mega joules per kilo as the up to 20% solvated hydroxyl and protons in the plume magma is crashed through a phase change boundary and recombines to H20 gas.
Simultaneously the unweighting of the continental shelf overburden by ice cliff failure in the Glacial canyons, and ice sheet margins, causes a runaway blowout to begin, with subglacial, and sub basal transport of geothermal fluids, and supercritical hypersaline geofluids feeding Jokelups outburst floods and mud volcanism in the rift fault structures along the continental margins.
Sudden isostatic uplift occurs, and has been observed in the deglaciated margin, and this triggers a spreading ridge pulse as is being experienced in Iceland.
Enabled by the subduction trench suck down of slabs, and the sudden heating and over pressure in the plume, activating deep mantle basalt conduits at 500 to 700km depth.
And the Iceland, shetlands, Laacher Sea, and Campi complex are all on the deep hot basalt fluid conduit that is primed and charged up, ready to go into action, in a likely stadial triggering activation of volcanic systems connected by these deep mantle Arteries.
The ice sheets act like the Beating heart of our planet.
Pumping Hot Fluid basalt through these deep mantle hydraulic conduits,
as they bob up and down on the Mantle Ocean,
      in these beating resonant cycles,
pacing and paced by the pulsation tectonic motions of the Crustal scales, or "horses" to use the geological term,
and the changing shape of the Oblate spheroid of our Mother Earth.
With the cycles of precession and tidal forces,
from the tilts of the Earth's Axis,
      and plane,
      of the Moons orbital tilt,
relative to the orbital plane of the solar system.
This is why there are periodic ages of Ragnarok,
On the Frigid Underworld of Hel you call the North.
And it is why we have left Megalithic Stone astronomical calendars,
planted the seeds in your cultural knowledge of Zodiacal ages,
and left clear pictograms of what you should expect in the Megaliths of Khem, Gobekli tepe, Asia, and the Americas.....
Good luck as the Sun begins,
      To rise once again,
      On your spring equinox,
      in Aquarius,
For the first time in 25900 years in the North.
We, in the South, the "Heaven" from which your "gods" and ancient kings, and ancestors have descended,
      Hope.
For us, in our spring, E Ra, begins to rise in Leo.
      And,
      If history repeats,
      Our Golden age is beginning.
      So we Hope...
      That this time you,
      will prepare.
      Share the Knowledge,
      Do not hoard it.
      In this time,
      our Earth Mother,
      Renews and re-fertilises herself.
      With Tsunami and storms,
      that wash clean your lands.
      And Volcanos that restore,
the nutrients and trace minerals to our.
      World Ocean.

I wonder if the Italian government would make a sincere effort to evacuate people. Redistributing 700,000 people across the rest of Italy would cause all sorts of problems, never mind the extra complications of having a super volcano going off at the same time. If Campi Flagrei's potential is anything like yellowstone then the super volcano's effect isn't going to end at the border of the caldera.

That bay looks like a caldera with the smaller volcanic cones arranged around it. We have similar volcanic fields in western North America.

I really like your videos and updates... But i wish you would quit saying these things are "Overdue" this is not accurate there is no actual time frame for these things.. Please stop saying this.... But again thank you for the videos

Many places including Yellowstone have land rise and many earthquakes occurring on a regular basis. It doesn’t necessarily mean that there will be a major eruption. I have enjoyed your videos but I think it would be better if you didn’t unnecessarily scare people. None of these people regardless of what their resumes say can predict anything. That is the truth.

      @alp8409 Місяць тому

True, but a 5cm rise on Campi Flegrei is more significant than a 5cm rise at Yellowstone due the fact that Yellowstone is far larger.

I would hardly say Silki is " scaring people unnecessarily"! The people of this region are blase' about their volcanos, not sufficiently alarmed to evacuate. They say "que sara sara", what will be will be.

      @geri8666 Місяць тому

Prediction still eludes us, but we can refer to our past experience with the volcanos involved and draw a useful conclusion that a one inch rise is significant. Taking appropriate action is still better than doing nothing.

This is not what a super eruption looks like. Campi flegrei hasnt even produced a ,, super eruption ,, what could happen in the far future is a eruption like monte nouvo. If something like that is immenent you will know.

      @ZeeZeeCat Місяць тому

Even VEI 7 eruption could destroy the whole nation and pose huge misery all over the Europe...great famine, toxic gases, etc. Monte Nouvo eruption was a "interrupted eruption", that means it is supposed to be a larger one but the hole clogged itself. It is very bad for the volcano to clogg itself. Not to mention the Vesuvio is also clogged. It is a high chance that the eruption won't be small and both might erupt within short period of time or simultaneously. That would be really bad.

You would not know what a supereruption looks like because nobody alive today has seen one! That a supereruption is in the future, but not now is unsupported by any reliable data in your possession. YOU are no scientist, just a denier. I hope you do not influence anybody.
