Fantastic! Thanks for testing this out in real life! Not sure about the price but I always hated battery life on the ID-51 and I have several of the larger batteries official and unofficial.
I love my little ID-31 generally. It is really all I need to operate on my hotspots. Unfortunately, Icom shipped them with the BP-271 battery. They also did with ID-51 handhelds as well. At 1100 mah, that is paltry. I immediately added BP-272 batteries to my purchase of these radios 2 years ago. Being an avid handhelds collector, I realized it is "all about "maintaing and regenerating" power. My advice? Always get big batteries and rapid chargers! The good news is when we finally can get the ID-52 released, we can use the batteries and rapid chargers we already purchased with our ID-31 and ID-51 handhelds! Thank you for your comment.
I'm looking at this battery & seeing the nice big "foot" formed by radio + battery & I'm seeing more justification for it"s purchase. No more purchasing or 3D printing a HT desktop stand, they form their own!

Thank you Frank. Great info. The stock ID-31 battery is pretty wimpy.

A portable charger with the USB cable works to charge it as well.
Awesome thanks for the info !!
It isn't cheap, but I think it's worth the $$$. It also works on the IC-705.
