I just made my first newborn beanie & booties from your tutorials. They are super easy to follow!! I have a hard time reading patterns so I do not use them. This is a GREAT way to learn. Thank you so much!!!!!!!
Great - I have looked on your site for Baby Booties the other week, so pleased you have posted this, easy to follow and better than the others I have seen, nice and simple, plain too, so you can add any simple bits to the front if you wish, thanks Sarah-Jane, will get started on my first pair later today !!
Another fab tutorial Sarah Jayne, thank you so much for explaining so clearly and showing us what we need to do. My first booties for my nephew born three weeks ago :)
This is a great tutorial! I have been looking for a great tutorial for making a crochet crocodile stitch drawstring bag... Are you up for the challenge?
I'm trying these for the 1st time. After the chain 2, do you turn the work? It looks like you have but theres no mention in the video nor can i find it in the pattern. Thank you .
Thank you for this tutorial. Only a question, if I want to make the sole bigger, 3,5 inches for exemple, how many increases I have to make in the next row? This would be a great help.
Catherine Johnson My opinion is your chain stitches are to loose. If this persists go down a hook size for your chain row only. Also try to not exert undo pulling/stretching as you work. I used to struggle with this. Hope its helpful. 😉
Hello Bella (Sarah ) My daughter had a preemie and I am looking for a pattern to make a pair of baby booties for a little boy that is a preemie can you please help me ?
Hi Blanche. I don't have a pattern for that unfortunately. The only thing I could suggest is using a thinner yarn and a smaller hook with this pattern? x
Your tutorial is great! I need the permission to make it and sell it with a few modifications like adding flowers or straps to it or changing the stitches used or altering the stitch count where I need. Can you permit me to do so and sell these cute little booties in my own style. I only want to follow the basic pattern like the sole making. The upper side of the booty would be my own pattern with different textured stitches. So if it is not copyrighted, please permit me to use the pattern of sole making and sell the finished product. Thankyou.
You are very welcome to use the pattern for the sole of the booty, then adapt them to your own pattern (I ask that you do not sell the pattern itself) I wish you the very best of luck :)
I'm so lost. Are the slip stitches counted as a stitch? Bc that's the only way my counts are correct. 😭 first time making these as my best friend wants them for her 1st baby due this summer. I have legit marked every different part of the rows to make sure I was getting them right. The slip stitches are the only thing that make it all come out correctly.
@@bellacococrochet I know why I'm confused! The written pattern for row 2 ends at 6 dc. I like to have written and video. No wonder my counts are off! It wouldnt hurt to have stitch counts at the end of each row. Especially from row 2 on.
Your video could not be more clearer, BUT...I can't figure out where my first stitch is to insert the slip stitch. I just guess and wind up with either too many stitches or not enough stitches (couple of rows by as many as ten or eleven). I finally decided to go ahead and finish all eleven rounds. I WILL do this and update my progress in my blog: iweararedhat.blogspot.com/search/label/Crochet. Thanks so much for sharing!
Yes, I think it's a challenging project for a beginner. Learning to crochet involves a lot of frustration I'm afraid. I've crocheted about seven years, and I still get frustrated quite often. I do enjoy it though, so I stick with it.
I'm a begging and I'm so good now cause of bella coco I know there is many stitches but it can't be created without those steps it's not her fault but I get what you mean it was hard for me 4 he first time it's been 1 month I've been crocheting
@@natasha7000 If you've only been crocheting one month and were able to get through this pattern, congratulations! I think I'll find it easier the second time around. I don't want other beginners to get frustrated and quit crocheting. This pattern and tutorial were not "easy" in my opinion. Not complaining though!
Would have been really cute but I found a couple things that made it hard to follow you. First you sometimes started to say to do a double crochet then changed mid sentence to half treble. Your video then speeds up and we can’t tell what you’ve done. Another thing is you didn’t start the video off telling people that they would need white yarn mid through.
Hi Carolyn, this tutorial does use both double crochet and half treble crochet as this is what the pattern is. I have not used any white yarn, I have used blue for the sole of the bootie then changed to grey as it states at the beginning. Sorry if this has confused you and hope that this clears things up for you. 😀

You're very welcome :)
Absolutely love your tutorials. They are so easy to follow. A big thank you from a novice crocheter!

You are such an amazing teacher! Thank you so much, and I love your work x
You're very welcome :)

Who would thumb this down?! You really are quite lovely 😊. Thank you for sharing!
These are so cute and simple!
Thank you for all your videos! Do you have one on booties for adult sizes?
so cute. can't wait to make.
What are the stitch counts on each row of the sole?
This is a great tutorial! I have been looking for a great tutorial for making a crochet crocodile stitch drawstring bag... Are you up for the challenge?
Hi I love your tutorials I was wondering can you make the booties for left handed.
Check out b.hooked crochet I searched it up and that came up if this Comment helps lol
Do i do less stitches if using thicker wool
Beauuutifull and simple... thank you so much...xoxox
Thank you so much. You are the best!!!
Aww thank you so for this video. I have struggled to do these on several occasions. Xx
They are super cute! Thank you^^
Extra tip: if you want to do crocodile stitch booties, just do the crocodile stitch from the finished bootie :)
Love the pattern, Bella Coco :)
Love these x
I have a question. Do I always have to use the recommended crochet hook size, or can I use a smaller size?
You can use a smaller size, but your bootie will be smaller!
Hai Bella do you overturn the Round 1 Before you continue to the the Round 2, thank you
I'm trying these for the 1st time. After the chain 2, do you turn the work? It looks like you have but theres no mention in the video nor can i find it in the pattern. Thank you .
There’s no need to turn your work, you can chain two and then continue working your way around 😊
Approximately how long does it take to make a pair of these?
Really cute! 😉
If I use thicker wool does that matter
Thank you for this tutorial. Only a question, if I want to make the sole bigger, 3,5 inches for exemple, how many increases I have to make in the next row? This would be a great help.
Mari G. I also would like to know how I can make bigger sizes
As I mentioned in the video, if you want to make the bootie bigger, you would increase the hook size x
@bellacoco do you have a pattern for adding on a collar to fold down?
It's not something I have at the moment but I will add this to my list of possible future projects. Thank you for your suggestion
Bella Coco thank you for replying x
I love to crochet... I tate my self useing u tube.... I love all the bright colors i can use
what about adult's size? I wanna do for my grandpapa, if you could do that i will so thankful to you!
What an adorable boogie pattern! Great instructions, is it hard mentioning both U.K. And US terms?
Cute baby booties.
Love these. Will u be doing converse booties? I cant find a good tutorial. 💜
very cute.
What am I doing wrong, the soles are quite holey around the chain and a big hole where you first turn the corner?
Catherine Johnson My opinion is your chain stitches are to loose. If this persists go down a hook size for your chain row only. Also try to not exert undo pulling/stretching as you work. I used to struggle with this. Hope its helpful. 😉
K Line Thank you so much. I will try again.
I think i am doing something wrong. When you put 5 SC in the last chain and then continue there is a hole on the bottom from the 5 SC in the chain..
Really like.
yes it's the exact time for me ....... thanks

when your working around the base of the bootie is that where I would change color ?

Top👍
Think it would of helped me if I knew how many stitches there was meant to be each round
As I think I have added some along the way 🙊
Same!
Add mobile case crochet and purse crochet mam
very nice booties like this tutorial. Marlene
❤️❤️❤️

Yes, you should be counting the stitch that you are slip stitching into in your stitch count 😊 Hope this helps :)

This is very frustrating! Too many stitches for beginners.

So pretty. But those aren’t double crochets.
Thanks tho for sharing your work. :)
Thank you, this pattern is written in UK terms (which is US single) :)
Why do these look like hoof covers instead of actual baby shoes?
I know. mine did. dumb video
You say double crochet and your doing single crochet
Terri Ortiz she tells you that a double crochet in the UK is a single in the US
