One of the best cat fishing channels on UA-cam
greenbean020906 no catfish and carp is the best
he did say one of the best, not THE best.
Hey great explanation of the hooks. I've never tried the circles. I had hear about them but now I'll give them a try when I'm not closely monitoring my rods. Thanks for sharing Kris.
I am glad to find you on UA-cam again.
I just recently stumbled upon your channel. I'm just getting into cat fishing. Me and a friend of mine have been catching mainly channel cats and have been trying to target flatheads but not having much luck. I really enjoy your videos you do an excellent job keep up the good work. I just subscribed
Getting fancy with your editing....NICE !!! Keep it up my friend great videos !!
Thanks for your information. I like your style!
I use a all types as well kris. I totally agree about that off set.
Without a doubt my man, that's the COOLEST fishing chair ever. Don't let anyone tell you different bro.
I can see through you. Good show
Great video Mr Flores
Good video I won't use the in line circles hooks again offset hook be the circle hook I use
Ha ha, I'm like you! I love my j hooks because I also love setting the hook! I did however get my first rod set up for circle hooks this year for my daughter to learn on. She's not strong enough to set the hook yet so see how these work for her. Lmao I call them are (sleeping hooks) lol tight lines my friends!
Great video brother
Great video Thanks
I prefer red too. Just more visible and if fish sees it they don't care cause it just looks like blood from bait. Good video!
Even if the fish could see the hook and it was a different color they still wouldn't care. Catfish aren't line or hook shy.
Kris is that Elephant butt ? the water looks like it came WAY up well at least I sure hope so ... Its been a few years since i been fishing there .. I have been Fishing the River close to Albq. .. with out much luck ... I live on the west side just short of Rio Rancho and there are not to many options on where to fish kind of a bummer .. anyhow another awsome video ... thanks
My brother and I is jankers when we set the hook and our #1 go to hook is a Kahle hook. We haven't noticed any difference on fish caught with a straight or offset Kahle hook.
have you been fishing since all the rain we had this year i went and it seemed like the water was to cold cus in my spots i always catch catfish and i went with no bits.
you should try the team catfish double action circle hook or the wisker seeker triple threat because they are self setting or you can set the hook
very cool
Hey bro I'm down the street here in el paso and wanted to ask you if 10lb test will be enough to land the bigger catfish, iv been fishing the Rio grande and some lakes around the power plant
Diego Holguin as long as you have your drag set properly. I like to use 65lb braided line because of all of the snags in the area that I fish. Good luck!
Great video i like good old j hooks
You stressed the off-set hooks in your excellent video, but I notice in your collection, that you have a few that don't appear to be offset. Is there a particular scenario where hooks that are not offset might work better than an offset hook?
Offset circle hooks work fine for catfish but any fish with loose drag they will gut hook them. Check the local laws in your state. Some fish species you have to use inline circle hooks
Those Eagle Claw hooks are inexpensive, which is great. But they are way THICKER than Gamakatzu or Owner hooks (which are of course more expensive), so I wonder how many fish I'd lose with those super-thick hooks.
I love your vids.
I lose quit a few bites using circle hooks, I have better hook-up with a "J" hooks. What am I doing wrong with the circle hook?
Don't set the hook with circle hooks it will set itself
hey boss my name is martin rivera I just wanted to ask when will you be doing another one of your prize give aways and how does it wrk do we gotta always look for new uploads I really enjoy watching your videos
Alright I got a question. What's the best bait and rig for stubborn catfish that won't bite in a lake I need help man Ik there is big fish in this lake but I need help on the bait and the best rig
Andrew Stevens I use my own version of the Kentucky rig with an 8/0 hook and a fresh piece of cut bait.
Yeah man you gotta get you a little bluegill on their if you can, or any kinda shad, brim whatever...and if you get you a little bluegill and your runnin it dead, step on it,little secret of mine. Gets the blood and oils out there more because they're feeding and huntin off scent mostly.. Hope that helps man
Kris, glad to see I found your channel. I'm a native El Pasoan and appreciate seeing content from my local regional area. Question, what is your opinion on "cam-action" hooks? Just picked up some new tackle for my trip this Friday to Percha Dam and purchased some "cam-action" hooks. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for checking out my channel! I'm not familiar with Cam-action hooks. I'll have to check them out. Good luck on your fishing trip.
How do you put a clam on your hook
did they stop selling octopus hooks at walmart?
no we have 2/0, 3/0, and 4/0 here
Thanks
do you have to set the hook for octopus hook
I see your questions 4 months old but if your still in need of an answer, it depends. If it's a circle hook (where the actual tip points back to the hook (the shank) then no just have a tight line and the fish will hook itself. if the tip does not point back to the shank (like a traditional hook) then yes you still need to pull up and set the hook like any other hook type.
Thanks for giving me edvise
I caught 5 catfish yesterday and gut hooked 3 using octopus hooks, I was catching and release do circle hooks work better I don't want to killed the fish.
+mrgetrealpeople yes, circle hooks are designed to hook the fish in the corner of the mouth. If you do gut hook a fish, just cut the line and the fish will likely live. They have a way of getting the hooks out of their stomach.
awesome videos bro .....
Were those carps
Do you fish for crappie
Hey man I don't agree 100% with this "bigger the bait the bigger the fish" we've caught 20-30lb cats on hellgrammites half the size of a worm, catfish are scavengers they aren't gonna starve just because the meal isn't big enough, I will put a bigger chunk of bait on my hook because I believe the same but that's not always the result. I once used a gilly fish out of the pecos river as bait and I ended up hooking a 4" baby blue an inch smaller than the bait so in my case it would be "the bigger the bait the smaller the fish" lol.
I want a hat like that.
green screen
can you explain this in Spanish
I can barely explain it in English
