New videos every week! Snowboarding, skateboarding, reviews & tips, plus anything else that a 39-year-old kid would do to escape boredom and chase progression. Hopefully, motivating you at the same time.
Thanks for watching the progression!

I loved this video! personally I'm shooting for 40 days this season
Sick! Thanks. 40 is a great target 🎯
How do you guys like this style of video vs. my usual uploads? 🤙
As a skier, not my favorite but I still enjoyed it lol. I think they would be helpful for sure but a few lessons can still be learned! Keep it up Dan!
I really liked it. Although I've never done a 360, the tips on where to point your head were very helpful.
I liked it. It's good to mix it up!
@@stephenpreston9635 Thanks! The tips for improvement definitely apply to skiing as well! More hours on snow, filming yourself, lessons, etc., Thanks for the feedback!
Started to write out a comment about why your body was preventing you from spinning further on your backside threes, but I am glad I watched all the way through the video as you recognized the problem and then went back out to execute. Nice job. Only thing I would say is use your arms more to initiate the rotation, and then keep them down and in close to your body. If you keep your chin down and head turned, the rest of your body will follow.
Love this!! Dude. Thanks! Good tips with the arms & head.
You mentioned all the time you put into editing and I just wanted to say is does not go unnoticed. The cinematic shots and just overall quality of your videos is next level. Definitely I think the most “breath taking” videos of all the snowboard UA-camrs 🤟🏻
Thank you so much!! Means the 🌎!!
@@BoredProgression no problem man!!
The best way to get better at snowboarding is riding with others! Case in point this video. The feed back you get and the hype you get from others can't be replicated. You find yourself pushing your boundaries without realizing it. Your crew hits a lip/hip/cliff.. why not you? You got this! Send it! 🤘
Also I love how you guys have noticed Austins superpower of being able to ride away from nearly anything. He may have some hiccups here and there but he just adds a little steez and he's good. 🤣
Really good point! I definitely push myself a little bit more when ridable with the homies. As long as you keep your ego in check, it’s very beneficial. Yeah. Austin has mastered the art of the falling cat. 🤣
Got my first membership to boreal out here in California and I’ve literally slept in my car a couple time to get multiple days on the mountain off one commute. 🤙
That’s what it takes!! So sick.
I'm camped out in the woods next to the resort rn 😂
100% right on just going out and learning. I picked up snowboarding in a day thankfully because I've been skating all my life, but watching videos doesn't prepare you for other people, changing conditions, etc. Especially for those who haven't skated, or done other activities that involve falling a lot in order to learn. I still have a lot to learn, but trying to snowboard every chance I get is how i've progressed so well. I've even convinced two of my friends to snowboard and have taught them. Having someone to do it with helps a lot too. I push them to get better and in turn they also push me. It's a huge part of learning.
So rad!! If you can ride with someone it will definitely help you push each other.
Yoga before and after Snowboarding (Really important for older riders)
Better Diet (Inclusion of more protein for recovery)
Right amounts of rest days and sleep
Patience with Progression, is the key to progressing at the right "fast" pace, relative to ones mental and physical ability
💯%!! All these I agree with and use.
Wilbere is def the vlog chair.
Hahaha. It’s a perfect pace. 👌
No matter how hard you fall you get only better by getting up! Awesome recording.
The truth!! Thanks!
Good to meet you. Thanks for letting me tag along for that run off the cirque. That boosted my confidence for the rest of the day.
Hell yeah Nick. Was a pleasure! Thanks for saying hi!
The amount of fun y'all are having is why I love snowboarding! Thanks for sharing the euphoria :)
Thanks!! That’s what it’s all about. 🙌
you almost got it down!!! awesome man love to see the progression!!!!!
We getting there!
What Dan is saying is 200% spot on. I’ve been wanting to improve & watching UA-cam instructional vids have done little. After taking a lesson with Alex Villanueva & being lucky enough to ride with Dan and his crew I can say I learned more on that one day then I ever have. Also, looking back at the videos I can see what I’m doing wrong so I know exactly what to work on. Thanks Guys!!!!! Just like Dan says, ride as often as you can! Also want to ad that riding with more experienced snowboarders is key. These guys motivated me to drop off a small rock face that I wouldn’t have had the guts to go for if not for their encouragement. Now I’ll be trying that repeatedly through the season to get it down, all thx to these guys!!! So stoked.
This comment gets me fired up! 🔥🔥🔥 Loved riding w/ you Roland!
Lessons have helped a lot. I've skateboarded since I was 7 and finally picked up snowboarding this season over at Brighton. I went once before a few years ago with no lessons and it was a pretty brutal day. I've taken several lessons this season and it has improved my riding a lot where I can do runs without falling now. I've decided to go at least night riding once a week until the end of season and figured that by putting down those miles, it'll help me progress to where I want to be. Next season I'll do even more riding.
I cannot speak highly enough for what a lesson can do. I was in the same boat the first time I went snowboarding. (Many many years ago) had an awful time till a lesson turned it all around. I was a skater too and it didn’t give me the fundamentals that a lesson could.
@@BoredProgression Yeah exactly! Without a lesson I caught an edge at the top of the mountain and almost dislocated my shoulder. After lessons, I have the confidence to get started faster. The little things you learn help and give you stuff to work on versus blindly going in.
Ive always skied once or so a year for awhile but i finally bought a weekday season pass for Snoqualmie here in WA and your totally right, just going twice a week since december I have progressed tremendously and im not intimidated by the harder runs anymore. More time put in the greater your skill will be. Great channel btw just subbed!
Yessss! So stoked for you. Thanks. Welcome to the fam! 🤜🤛
yeah falling shows you that you are going out of your comfort zone and trying new things. there are days i just like to go out and rip the mountain and come out completly unscavethed, and not fall once/and usually those day I was pushing it hard but not nearly as hard as I know I can. one of the reasons I havent gotten that good at butters. I always bust my butt when i do them , lol
Very true. If you’re not falling, you’re probably not learning anything new.
I am a first season, 40+ year old rider and appreciate how real and honest this was. I too came into this thinking it would be easy and it’s not at first. I’ve had to change my diet, take better care of myself, up my protein intake for recovery but simply getting out there has been invaluable. With every fall, I’ve gotten better. Learning what my body can do, what my board can do, and simply what not to do. Mileage has been key for my progression and I know, I’ve still got a lot to learn. Great vid!
Beautiful! It’s true, we gotta take extra care of our bodies off snow too. I’ll be in the 40+ club next season. 😬 Diet, strength training & stretching are also huge. Keep after it!
@@BoredProgression Slightly ahead of you age wise, definitely harder to recover as we get older, that's for sure! 🤣 Just grabbed a sticker from your Etsy store, keep up the great vids!
I was watching the beginning of this and kept thinking, "man, why does that area look so familiar?!" Then you said you're in Utah! I just started last season and was at Brighton the whole time, at least once a week. Getting back into watching videos to amp myself for season 2 and just came across your channel! Love it all man! I got the ikon pass, so I'm hoping to adventure more and learn more instead of surviving off Brighton Go Cards I got off people on Facebook! Haha
Right on!! Thanks. Welcome to the fam! Hope to see you out there!
@@BoredProgression Thanks man, and for sure! I'll keep an eye out.
Been with the post office for 6 months, going to transfer closer to the mountains! Getting a pass next season! Love the videos
This is what I love to hear! 🤘
Even though I am an intermediate to expert snowboarder, I still learn little improvements to my riding from UA-cam videos and watching other people ride all the time. Now in the process of nailing down some tricks in the park. Awesome video!
Thanks! They definitely can help get the ball rolling. Keep at it on snow!
Great video Dan!
Thanks my guy!!
This season I decided to go and live out of my car and snowboard 4-5 days a week, all morning sessions. I’ve never gotten more than 10 days in a season and am already at 16. I can say for certain the my riding has improved each day, gradually riding faster and maintaining as much control as possible.
Broke my wrist last season so staying away from doing tricks for now. But my goal is to get my switch riding down to where I use it more than emergency situation. Waiting for a little softer snow before I give myself an entire switch day. Hopefully I can make it to 100 days. But I think 50 is very realistic for me.
Beautiful! Put in the miles getting really confident with the riding and the tricks will come easier (and less injury-prone) later. So sick.
Dude was at Woodward the other day and did not know they had that inside all I saw was a bunch of cheerleaders
😂 Yeah it’s part of the indoor session you can book.
I feel like the videos like this one I use more of as a way to understand the ideas behind certain trick tips and riding tips and why they work the way they do like the channel snowboard addiction is great for understanding such as yours my dude snd too piggy back on the gent underneath when you’re throwing the 3 like a back side one landing kinda blind with it will help keep y’all from washing out/keeping on rotating when landed
Right on! Snowboard addiction helped me land a tame dog. Great recourse. Good tip on the 3!
I want to get good at snowboarding
Keep shredding my guy!!
As a skier, my snowboarding skills definitely leveled up after this video 😂🤷🏽♂️
Hahah. 📈 makes sense to me! 🚀
I have one eye so I only board goofy need to experiment also like to do a 360 that looks fun.
Dude. So sick you’re out there. I have a hard enough time spotting my landing with 2! 👀🤣
Carving on an older Arbor Element board. Love the wood look
Nice!!
I need those gloves. Tried to message seller but no response. Love the zipper glove idea
I’m sorry man. The manufacturer is way behind. I’m waiting for a special pair myself! A huge order is supposed to arrive any day now. Eric (owner) is super frustrated.
Got to order some today. Heck ya can’t wait to try those out.
that was a 420 lol
🤣
just go full send!!!
Full power, 24hr, no toilet, no shower!!!!
😂😂😂😂. 💯 🚀
I saw in description you listed your board, helmet, and goggles. What jacket, pants, and gloves are you wearing?
There’s a link to the best gloves on earth in the description. 🧤 also JUST posted a video on them today. Jacket is a DC Company and pants are Volcom Bryan Iguchi.
@@BoredProgression after I sent the message I did find the globe video. I was checking them out last night. Looks like the new version has a shorter cuff. Have you been able to compare the new ones to what you have yet? I’ll have to check out the recent video drop on your other gear.
3:55 Snowbirds "park" Does not exist. it's like an alternate dimension there and feels strange even being there. The pow gods are like " what are you doing here" Go shred the streeps child
Facts! 😂
I need a little more energy from you in the monologue, you should feel good about the progress you made. I was whooping it up for you in my living room while watching. Is Austin riding the Union Atlas FC bindings?
😂 Fair enough! Thanks my friend! Yeah he’s on the Atlas FCs. Although he’s broken 2 high backs so I don’t think he’s a big supporter of the carbon high back.
@@BoredProgression Love the vids and good to know. Hopefully my model year 21 fare better 😂🤞Keep it up!
