    Started to write out a comment about why your body was preventing you from spinning further on your backside threes, but I am glad I watched all the way through the video as you recognized the problem and then went back out to execute. Nice job. Only thing I would say is use your arms more to initiate the rotation, and then keep them down and in close to your body. If you keep your chin down and head turned, the rest of your body will follow.

    You mentioned all the time you put into editing and I just wanted to say is does not go unnoticed. The cinematic shots and just overall quality of your videos is next level. Definitely I think the most “breath taking” videos of all the snowboard UA-camrs 🤟🏻

    The best way to get better at snowboarding is riding with others! Case in point this video. The feed back you get and the hype you get from others can't be replicated. You find yourself pushing your boundaries without realizing it. Your crew hits a lip/hip/cliff.. why not you? You got this! Send it! 🤘
    Also I love how you guys have noticed Austins superpower of being able to ride away from nearly anything. He may have some hiccups here and there but he just adds a little steez and he's good. 🤣

    • @BoredProgression

      Really good point! I definitely push myself a little bit more when ridable with the homies. As long as you keep your ego in check, it’s very beneficial. Yeah. Austin has mastered the art of the falling cat. 🤣

    100% right on just going out and learning. I picked up snowboarding in a day thankfully because I've been skating all my life, but watching videos doesn't prepare you for other people, changing conditions, etc. Especially for those who haven't skated, or done other activities that involve falling a lot in order to learn. I still have a lot to learn, but trying to snowboard every chance I get is how i've progressed so well. I've even convinced two of my friends to snowboard and have taught them. Having someone to do it with helps a lot too. I push them to get better and in turn they also push me. It's a huge part of learning.

    Yoga before and after Snowboarding (Really important for older riders)
    Better Diet (Inclusion of more protein for recovery)
    Right amounts of rest days and sleep
    Patience with Progression, is the key to progressing at the right "fast" pace, relative to ones mental and physical ability

    What Dan is saying is 200% spot on. I’ve been wanting to improve & watching UA-cam instructional vids have done little. After taking a lesson with Alex Villanueva & being lucky enough to ride with Dan and his crew I can say I learned more on that one day then I ever have. Also, looking back at the videos I can see what I’m doing wrong so I know exactly what to work on. Thanks Guys!!!!! Just like Dan says, ride as often as you can! Also want to ad that riding with more experienced snowboarders is key. These guys motivated me to drop off a small rock face that I wouldn’t have had the guts to go for if not for their encouragement. Now I’ll be trying that repeatedly through the season to get it down, all thx to these guys!!! So stoked.

    Lessons have helped a lot. I've skateboarded since I was 7 and finally picked up snowboarding this season over at Brighton. I went once before a few years ago with no lessons and it was a pretty brutal day. I've taken several lessons this season and it has improved my riding a lot where I can do runs without falling now. I've decided to go at least night riding once a week until the end of season and figured that by putting down those miles, it'll help me progress to where I want to be. Next season I'll do even more riding.

    • @BoredProgression
      @BoredProgression  2 роки тому +2

      I cannot speak highly enough for what a lesson can do. I was in the same boat the first time I went snowboarding. (Many many years ago) had an awful time till a lesson turned it all around. I was a skater too and it didn’t give me the fundamentals that a lesson could.

    • @dave_keller
      @dave_keller 2 роки тому

      @@BoredProgression Yeah exactly! Without a lesson I caught an edge at the top of the mountain and almost dislocated my shoulder. After lessons, I have the confidence to get started faster. The little things you learn help and give you stuff to work on versus blindly going in.

    yeah falling shows you that you are going out of your comfort zone and trying new things. there are days i just like to go out and rip the mountain and come out completly unscavethed, and not fall once/and usually those day I was pushing it hard but not nearly as hard as I know I can. one of the reasons I havent gotten that good at butters. I always bust my butt when i do them , lol

    • @BoredProgression

      Very true. If you’re not falling, you’re probably not learning anything new.

    I am a first season, 40+ year old rider and appreciate how real and honest this was. I too came into this thinking it would be easy and it’s not at first. I’ve had to change my diet, take better care of myself, up my protein intake for recovery but simply getting out there has been invaluable. With every fall, I’ve gotten better. Learning what my body can do, what my board can do, and simply what not to do. Mileage has been key for my progression and I know, I’ve still got a lot to learn. Great vid!

    This season I decided to go and live out of my car and snowboard 4-5 days a week, all morning sessions. I’ve never gotten more than 10 days in a season and am already at 16. I can say for certain the my riding has improved each day, gradually riding faster and maintaining as much control as possible.
    Broke my wrist last season so staying away from doing tricks for now. But my goal is to get my switch riding down to where I use it more than emergency situation. Waiting for a little softer snow before I give myself an entire switch day. Hopefully I can make it to 100 days. But I think 50 is very realistic for me.

    • @BoredProgression
