I was forced into retirement. Recently I now feel like I've been let loose from a 40 year prison sentence. I feel absolutely fabulous. I do not miss the toxic culture at my job. I do not miss the traffic. I do not miss the danger of my job. I used to feel safe driving the truck. But when cell phones came out, I used to go to work and fear every day that someone would hit me while I was loaded and sent me flying Into the Woods. I feel I do not miss my 10 bosses. That means 20 hands have let go of my basketballs the joy I feel is beyond measure. ,,,thanks for all your videos!!!!❤

My husband benefits from standard employment bc of health benefits and retirement match etc which frees me up more to invest in entrepreneurship. Not everyone should start a business. He just wants to work, save/invest, and retire early. I don’t think I’ll ever stop “working” bc for me it’s a labor of love. Both are good options :)

I wish i learnt most of these principles about seven years ago. A lot of people have been trapped strongly in the matrix-- Go to school, get a job, and then slave your whole life. Many miss out on life-changing information that could have great effect on their finances. I played with the stock market sometime in 2020, and I was surprised at how well it turned out. I want to put in $90k more into the market. I heard people are making really great returns despite the downturn. Any recommendations?

@@FactsCountdown the best options for passive income require a large nest egg. So you need to save a large enough amount to generate a livable income, or get a windfall to use for generating income. My job allows me the freedom to spend, save and invest monthly. I mean, what more do you really need? Actually when you have a side gig that you actually love, it's not "work", its a win-win, and it's not anxiety-derived either. When you have additional streams of income, you are not beholden to an employer, who may get sour at any moment, and lay you off, for totally invalid reasons too. It has nothing to do with "not doing well enough"--not for me at least.

(Deductible is $3800.00) I would never use that much in a yr! Then it starts again the next yr. This is a medium paying job. Not high but it's certainly not a minimum pay job. The publics children are rude and very disrespectful to everyone! I'm exhausted mentally and physically when i get home. It's a dead end job also. Not sure if i would want to move up to deal with the parents even more! 😢

Sounds like a reason to join the rat race! I actually like a 9-5, a set time, and a set expected amount. I like to plan my budget ahead and so having some expectations were good. I also like to stay where I’m comfortable, less stress however I never believe I’ll have this job forever or never lose it.

People should consider that even when they are safe with their job and their paycheck, they are losing compounding years. If they blow all their paychecks in their twenties and thirties, they'll miss 20 years of compounding and the'll end up with ~1/4 of ammount they would have if they had saved.

Interesting topic. There are certain fields, like education, where you're likely to need the stability of the 9-5 type job, I mean, if you want to teach in a classroom. What's sad is that the benefits of many 9-5 type jobs were so much better than they are today: I agree that for many people it just makes more sense to go out on your own. But for the risk-averse, I think the old 9-5 still makes sense. Obviously it's not the JOB that makes (or "keeps") you broke, but the sense of dependence a regular paycheck can create. You simply need to take responsibility for your finances, no matter what you do to support yourself.

This allows me to have more time and energy for the rest. When the 3 day weekend is over and I have to go back to work on Monday I sort of fell that is a waste of time and a drag on my life. Secure jobs stopped being the norm about 30 years ago. The standard job "allows" many people to feel the false sense of security, it does not "make" them feel or do anything. I think it is important to put the individuals actions on the person, not the job. Not everyone is leader or entrepreneurial and they need to survive. Most people will work for an employer and we should be thankful they do, as we need goods and services and they need funds/benefits (rights). Now I will say that I do agree with you that the belief that the next check will come allows a person to believe that they can spend all of their money, cause more is coming. I would hope, and it is a big hope, they would learn otherwise after the loss of their first job.

Although I am a Civil Service employee, and can't be fired, laid off etc., I still save more than half of my income and use the the percentage match. It doesn't make sense to me to up and leave my job as I do love assisting victims of violent crime. Also, there are opportunities for me to earn more money right at my same job! I have never felt nor been broke at my "9-5" but since I telework, I make my own hours:) I'm a singe person and can and do earn other "streams of income. " However, when people have a family they can't take chances and walk out of a job that may leave children, a husband or wife, without food or a roof, or a car. I've worked more than one job for money before and yuck! Never again! It's best to know you can make it on one income first! To me, a "side hustle" is a euphemism for "I can't earn enough money and NEED a 2nd job." No thanks been there done that!

    A very true story..
My own story goes like this.. I was working very happy and content in my home country and then I moved to another. After a while I realized the work culture is so damn toxic (but paid good money)that I can’t keep at it for long - so I looked for ways to retire and was introduced to investing via SIP and later stocks. Fast forward 10 years i still work at another job - still toxic but recently while I resigned the old job i wasn’t fearful as a decade of investing had put me in good stead. Not that I’m rich but I’m not fearful if I’m jobless for say, 6 months.
Covid has made all of us realize, that we are all dispensable and no job is safe..
I personally thank my job for making me hate the job and that helped me to start investing. This is why contrary to popular belief, I always disagree with “ You gotta looove what you do.. “ Negative. You should always look for alternative methods to thrive if you gotta do it that way while continuing to work.. 😊
Muchas gracias and Muchlove El Agustin.. your videos really inspire and educate.. ❤

I have 3 SILS that are working 9-5 and supporting there families just fine. (by the way they are millennials) Working part time or working YT for pay is not for everyone.
