- Fighting against safe moves can be hard. Sometimes attacks will just eat at your shield and leave you with no window to punish. However, there are still a few tricks that can help with this issue. Learn about them by watching the video.

I gotta be honest, I've never been a huge fan of "uh oh stinky," but I think the bit in this vid is one your best gags yet. It came out of absolutely nowhere and the editing and voiceover were absolutely PERFECT. In general your style of comedy + info is really fun. Sometimes I watch even when not in the mood to learn because they're so funny.
What I got away from this is essentially patient playing beats people spamming “safe” moves, which is very much something I needed to learn, thanks Banana!
Seriously, I’m gonna actually binge watch your tutorials. Your tutorials are so fun and really entertaining and really help us out. Obviously all of us are all different in terms of level, skills, mains and whatnot, but even for people that just want to get better in tournaments and wanna be the best, or casuals who may not play smash a lot of may not have Online or many friends to play with and practice. I love seeing how much work and effort you put into your videos for us. So thanks man as always.

I really like these videos. Not necessarily because it teaches me something new because it usually is something I do understand, but something I often have difficulty actually recognizing and thinking about in a game. But hearing someone else explain it with clean examples and explanations is a good way to remind me to think about these things.

I must say, I’m quite grateful that this video came in my Feed! I main Hero, and as controversial as he is; he has several bad matchups. I always find myself infuriated when I can’t rebuttal my opponents attacks. So when you suggested to be patient, I found that extremely helpful.

Discussing about expecting the most common options for your opponent while approaching is also a major part of parrying in 3rd Strike. I can't recommend it more for Smash players as a way to get into that mindset. I also really liked the advice about choosing to not engage with safe spaced attacks. There aren't just positive and negative jings, to steal a line from Avatar, there is also neutral jing. The art of waiting.

I use an emulator for my PC and started playing ssb4 on it. But I'm planning on getting Switch and Ssbu soon so I obviously need a main, and I messed around with Yoshi for a while and I never realized how much he matched my playstyle. I never considered him before, but your videos helped a lot on showing me how to properly use him, so maybe there will be one more of your kind in the near future.

If we're gonna be more specific about it it's Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity.
One other thing to think about is range and priority. If the person is doing a safe move, but you have more range and a bigger disjoint, then you can shut that move down if you see it coming. This takes some good timing, but it does substantial mental damage if a Mario gets f-tilted by Lucina every tine he goes for a b-air, sometimes enough that they stop using that move entirely for a minute or two despite it being one of his best tools for edge guarding, spacing, punishing, and starting combos. In other words, it’s possible to “steal away” that safe move from an opponent depending on MU knowledge and how you decide to go about combating it, especially if said attack is a big part of their game plan.

I agree that being patient while shielding is a great idea and then follow up with a punish. That's my preferred method. Yet, sometimes, you have to be more aggressive than your opponent. It all depends on the player.

Most of the time, it's just a UA-cam video that's just a bunch of clips edited together. Do you think you could do a run-down of the combos you use most often, and how to practice them?
