@@dmrsk1899 you know, I would tend to agree but this song really feels like something straight off of Hunky Dory, the entire time I was listening I could hear inspiration from Bowie's songwriting from the purposefully awkward syllabic placement in the phrases to the way the background singers are used and even the partwriting for the instrumentalists. this is one of the first The Good, The Bad, & Queen songs I've listened to, though.
Funny you make this comparison, Damon Albarn and David Bowie did sing Bowies song Fashion live together once, I think there's videos of it around here.
Tony Allen makes this great, Albarn is of course a genius
I’m an American and I’ve just discovered this band, I love Gorillaz and when I heard Damon was going to this, I took an interest, and my expectations were blown away, this band is amazing. Gorillaz will always be my favorite, but this is a close second.

This would have made a great single. Brilliant track. Bit of Clash and The Specials there. Reminiscent of Blur Fade Away too. Love this Ribbons and Merrie England. Not heard one duff track. I am sure my favourite tracks will change. The music throughout the album is evocative of a bygone time. Innovation wise Damon has taken on Bowies mantle. Can't wait to see them in Blackpool 😀

@@marceloswifeboricua the bassist from the clash is in this group and Damon works with the clash quite often on gorillaz albums. Also the clash is the greatest punk band but go off.
