Is this the first multi-age supergroop??? Tong in his 40s, Albarn 50s, Simonon 60s and Allen 70s. AMAZING!!!
well, Simon might as well be the oldest by the way he's looking lately.
On Oct 24 he ended his world tour with gorillaz in Mexico. On the 30th, he plays in this show with the good the band and the queen.
This man never stops! This is the concept of doing what you love. So cool! 😉
Mónica Sánchez well put!
He's a busy guy.
Yo for real.
Is insane but great! Also releasing 3 albums in 18 months is incredible.
IKR, I was just thinkin' the same!
RIP Tony, grooving the hell out of that snare even on a quiet song like this. Damon's voice has only gotten richer with age. Paul's posture is somehow getting better with age. Love the strings. Love the lyrics even more.
Tony Allen is 78 years old. Incredible.
woah can i have some of those genes pls
He "Was" 78, Then he turned 79. Now he's a legend. RIP Mr. Allen.
RIP Tony Allen
rip ;-;
Goodbye Tony. 📯 Peace..
🌌🔭
Great to see Paul on the bass again!
Shame he's so low in the mix though, I miss his energetic pick playing from the Clash days. Glad to see he's still using the same old Precision bass!
Totally agree, I seen the last tour and he was cool as usual on the bass, shooting the crowd with it.
This tune is fantastic.
No one else can do it better
Solid groovy bassline without unnecessary frills, typical of Mr Simonon.
This song is clearly informed by the political and social moment the UK is living and in the most beautiful way. He is the best lyricist of modern pop in my opinion.
Greatest living English poet
Paul Simonon! Love to see him playing that white Fender and of course i love this song too. Thank You.
I don't have the words to describe this
How about "Meandering Musical Masturbation"?
I have a video to describe it ua-cam.com/video/JtvGR8UX1L0/v-deo.html
Rubbish?
They're all looking very stylish. Also love Damon's hipster glasses (I mean that in the best possible way).
I want to get that. Does anyone know the make and model? It looks its a Ray Ban, but I cant seem to find the model name or number.
Jarvis Cocker comes to mind. Ha!
This song makes me cry. I think this is one of the best album i've heard this past years.
this is too beautiful
It's lovely to see Paul Simonon, bass shredding legend, playing such chill music.
The Smiths, Suede, Pulp, some bands are extremely British and they don’t hide it. This iteration of Damon’s music is in the ilk for sure
If you’re leaving please still say goodbye
And if you are leaving can you leave me
My silver jubilee mug
My old flag
My dark woods
My sunrise
If you’re leaving can you please say goodbye
And if you are leaving can you leave your number
I’ll pack my case
And get in a cab
And wave you goodbye
I drive in the early hours down to the sea
I stand on the beach where the storms amplify
All the voices that I care for
And the ghosts I hold sacred
In this alignment that lasts for a day
There’s nothing that I can do anyway, anyway
What am I doing here?
Waiting for you?
Hey
So rebuild the railways
Firm up all the roads
No one is leaving
Now this is your home
The horses, the foxes, the sheep and the cows
Bow down on their knees
To the fanfare of progress, it’s always the same
We cheer on the clowns as they roll into town
But their faces look tired and sad to me
And carry the terrible things they’ve seen
All lost in a painting of a sky coloured oil
In this Merrie Land
You are my crows, my window rattlers
Perfumed valley criers
Oh the dark ponds of Merrie England
The deep space echoes
Get on your mo…..
What did you say? Mobility (You can fly)
Get on your mobilised hooters… (to the moon)
Hooters… Haha
Mobilised Hooters… Haha
(one day)
Get hold of those mobilised hooters
They are half price
This is not rhetoric
It comes from my heart
I love this country
Daneland, I am your kin
You were the ones who work together
Put the money in the pockets
Of the few and their fortunes
Who crowd the school benches
And jeer at us all because they don’t care about us
They are graceless and you shouldn’t be with them
Because they are all disconnected and raised up in mansions
And two hundred plastic bags in a whale’s stomach
So you turn to the trident
Are we green are we pleasant?
We are not either of those Father
We are a shaking wreck where nothing grows
Lost in the sky coloured oils of Merrie Land
You can fly to the moon
One day

He change all the lyrics in this performance
@@Clubdemusicaligera
He always do, that's what makes his live performances very unique
didn't think i could get so emotional over a song about a country
in which i don't even live
Paul Simonon is the coolest man ever.
I swear, this guy never rests! I love him and everything he does... it's all spectacular!
damon is wearing coxon's glasses haha
I am here to see if Damon Albarn has the lyrics of this song memorized. The lyrics is very long and as a new song it must be difficult to sing this song without looking at the lyric stand. Brilliant song.
I doubt it, hes got a stand in front of him, I'm pretty sure hes just got the lyrics on there
@@TwoBasic2Foolish yeah, he looked at the lyric stand few times.
Listen to BBC Radio 4 s Mastertapes feature about this project. It's in 2parts & Damon explains about the lyrics and how he came up with them. He mentioned that it was hard to remember the lyrics as it was some of the densest /verbose songs he'd ever written. Mastertapes is a fantastic programme with brilliant guests.
Personally I’m enjoying Damon’s music, I have to say he’s extremely talented and he always impresses.
I’m so excited for this album! Merrie Land is incredible

Paul Simonon is the coolest and best dressed geezer wherever he goes! ✌🚬🎩

you can fly to the moon

Yup. The crush. It is real. After all these years.
Dear Damon, I respect you.
I enjoy everything you do.
I'm so happy to live in the same era.
I love you so much ❤
Rest in peace Tony Allen, a great drummer
Like some bleak footnote to Cool Britannia.
Utter genius.
Finally! It's so perfect! Thanks for the upload
It's finally happened!
Damon, Merrie me.
No ! Me !! ❤🌴
Superb, Damon is the gift that keeps on giving.
Dear old Damon may be a remoaner - but what wonderful music his politics has spawned. Very eloquent Damon, I love love love it. Even though I'm a Brexiteer.
Masterpiece by damon! Love how much passion this guys still got for music. Cant wait to hear this on vinyl!!
Just beautiful, and heartbreaking in so many ways.
Damon Albarn is the meaning of "The Grind Don't Stop"
The first riff reminds me the album Veckatimest of Grizzly Bear. Beautiful song, there's Tony Allen yet! Today 07/20/2020
Grizzly bear super fan here !
@@andrewpoderis8548 we love great music!!
@@sandysilva2089 yes we do!!
This was truly beautiful ❤
Kaito Kid kind of reminds me of Banksys Tragic Kingdom
Thanks for this! 😍💓
An extraordinary piece of music.
I so genuinely wonder the secret to Damon's ever-productive mind and untiring physique.
money
@@StookyBill Money can't buy talent !
Just like the rest of mortals that have to work everyday their entire lives...
I remember watching an interview of him where he mentioned having some sort of ADHD. I think it was the British Masters series, if I find it I'll link to it here.
@@Peterbrendanalbert drugs do not equate consistency and quality, maybe allows less self-criticism and a level of unconsciousness, but not for too long... everything ends with guilt and pain. He is consistent and make good material because he works every day, Exercising his creativity every single day ... and also does some physical practices to release a little bit of anxiety before work
Beautiful he puts a lot of emotion in this song
At last! Very glad to see them back.
So beautiful
Gracias , me encanta verlos de nuevo💕🎶
Brilliant...as they say.
Gets better with each play, TGTB&TQ are simply stunning.

Damon never stops. Love this man. Gorgeous string arrangement.
One word: GENIUS!
Beautiful song- this is obviously the creation of the whole band but Damon really is a genius 🙌🏼
RIP Tony Allen

Beautiful!!
I love this so much.
I was one of many waiting months for the album in. 2007... didn't even know about this 'til days later!

Ive waited 11 years for this. The only good thing that’s happened this year!
What a genious this man is...
beautiful !
14 years later and still the same magic... with white hair.
Magic! Roll on Hackney in a few weeks!
Beautiful
Their music reminds me of a old london streets ( such as in Spitalfields or Norton Folgate) in the 90s before gentrification.
I like how the puppet is just sitting there
I'm in love
Brilliant!
very good!
Had to watch this twice. Wasn't enough.
Rip Tony Allen
Uma das melhores canções que já ouvi
