This is great! The only adjustment I’d suggest is to wash the pants in hot to shrink them before measuring and cutting. Some pants will shrink enough so the placement above the ankle bone will rise higher than desired. Washing to shrink before ensures proper placement. Thanks for this … going to cut my jeans!
Hi! How "hot" should it be? Is it 30°c, 40 or higher? I just wanna make sure that it's not too hot that it will shrink the pants more than it should. My pants fit nicely & just right everywhere, except for the length. Also, can I put it in the dryer or should it be air dried instead?
@@DanicaPlaysHi! ☀️ I’d say if your pants already fit great, and you’ve been wearing and washing them already, you should be just fine cutting for the hem. ✂️
@kikikimbro thanks for your reply! I actually just bought it from someone on an app called Vinted. The seller said she hasn't worn it coz it was bought by mistake so I assume she hasn't washed it before selling. I do wanna wash it so I wanted to know the right temperature to make sure I don't ruin the pants before cutting haha
Great video...and thank youuuuuu SO much for NOT using that annoying, fake, scratchy, tired/bored "voice" that most women seem to have adopted...ugh. Such a ridiculous trend...like valley girls from the 80's but entitled and tired...lol Sorry...thats my rant. I couldn't even watch videos on the frayed hem until i found yours and you sounded normal and intelligent! 😁😎 thank you!!!!
Aw this is such a great compliment thank you!! I love diy and have been hoping to create more videos like it, and this makes me want to!! I’m so over the fake stuff too! Lol. Glad you found it helpful ☺️
i got basically the same jeans from h&m but with rips in the knees. love them & they are SUPER cute but they are a little long :(. definitely gonna try this out! update: guys do this!! it works so good. the fringe part is perfect. i tried to rush and get it done super quick so i did cut one leg a little uneven but i’m hoping the fringe will cover that part. if you guys give this a try make sure to take your time on the cuts or you’ll do the same thing as me 😅 i just didn’t have the right scissors and mine were dull so i had to fight the jeans for them to cut. i cut mine just above the bottoms since they were just a tad too long. i’m sure i could do this again to the same pair if i need them shorter.

YES! Good point - because this actually did happen to me hahaha.
Yep I wish I had thought of that before I cut mine.

Thank ya!!!! This just saved me a whole trip to the mall to return these mile long jeans! Short legs🥴
yayyy!
😭
Do they keep fraying if you put them in the washing machine again?
nope! :)
I was looking for this comment, thank you!!❤
I’m actually looking for the oppisite lol - to do a hem instead of the trim(frye?)
Easy. Certainly going to try it.
Did you dry them or let them air dry?
It looks so easy. Thank you.
Wow, what a hack! Thank you! :)
Does the fray at the hem affect how long the jeans last?
Honestly I’ve had these jeans since and they’ve stayed exactly the same! Some of the strings have gotten pulled and what not but overall good :)
@@AmandaKam ok thank you!
This is spo cuteeeeeee. Question, do you hand wash or washing machine?
@@angiedelosreyes8613 I just used the machine!
Thanks for the video
Hi. Did you wash it in a washing machine or did you just hand wash it?
washing machine!
Wash HOT🔥. DRY on HOT 🔥🔥extra long time before cutting?? ✂️😮
Te quedan largo de tiro
Thank you, but i destroyed my jeans
Too long in the crotch. Try a different brand.
I wish the high waist trend would die a peaceful death

Have they lasted? Wondering if they will come apart because the seems were not tacked.
Won t the seam come undone?
I think I will hand whip stich the bottom of the seam to hold it tight! :)
Do I need to hand wash the jeans in hot water or wash in washing machine?
will they continue fraying after every wash?
Wondering this too
Ur a rock star, thanks for sharing!!
So eine Hosenlänge gibts nicht mal, vorhercsah es besser und originaler aus
Oh wow that really is easy
youre soo cozyyy🥺🥺🥺
Прекрасная идея!
I wish tutorials came without the music.
Could not agree more I’m so glad you said it! Especially when it’s crappy music. Otherwise helpful tutorial.
Folks this lady doesn’t know what she is doing
I’ve done this with several pairs of jeans. It works great!!😊
@@jnebradford right?? it works for me! LOL
I’ve done this with several jeans, I’m a shorty. Never had an issue. Seam does not unravel, nor does the fray go up any higher after washes.
