Looks awesome! My next mod for my GX Lux+ pavement princess will be wheels and tires as well! Do you notice any reduced turn radius? For me, the back light bar being smoked out was a must! It's just too red lol I didn't want it blacked out completely so I used a med smoke light film and I also had the front emblem blacked out using a dark smoke film. It is still visible up close, but looks so much better from a far IMO. Appreciate the info and enjoy your ride!
@@Toyzs4 Thanks man it much appreciated!! As for turning radios I don’t feel like any was compromised & there is zero rubbing at full lock. That’s great to hear about the light bar as well, I was thinking of doing the exact same with a light smoked film so I might be doing that here very soon lol
Truck looks awesome! Looking forward to what might be coming. We just picked up my wife’s Lux + GX last Thursday. At the shop now for PPF and ceramic tint. She is against lift and wheels for now, but ima keep pushing for it 🤪. Agree on the tinted tail lights and black wrap on the silver part of the side steps. Also, Ive seen a gloss black grill overlay that would probably look sick on the murdered out GX! Are you considering any power adders? JB4 or maybe intakes? I would love to see how the GX wakes up with a tune! Also, curious if maybe the Sequoia intakes fit the GX…looks like they might… Keep the vids coming.
@@jbone9491 Thanks man, much appreciated! Also congrats on the GX you & the wife are gonna love it! As for performance mods I would love to do some intakes to try and amplify the turbocharger sound. A JB4 does sound fun but I’ll probably hold off on a tune for a bit. But knowing me I’ll probably end up tuning it lmao 😂
First off, your car looks great! Secondly, if I were to put 22 inch rims and an exhaust, do you think it would be a good daily comfortable car and trip car?
@@nskbhatia1 Thanks! This rig is a daily driver with 6000 miles in just 3 months. Most of those miles with these 22”. It’s an amazing daily & road trip rig. The exhaust I can’t comment on. I do know v6 in particular can have some annoying drone with exhaust so I’d recommend getting a quality exhaust to avoid that.
Thanks bro!! Warranty is a tricky subject. I’m sure if I had suspension related issues the dealer would try and say it was lift related and not cover it.
No need to trim if you use more reasonable offset on the wheels. The additional benefit is that it's better for the suspension and closer to the design intent for the kinematics of the suspension and driveline. I have 285s with no need to trim and my wheels don't poke out like that.
Like I said in the video this is what I had to do for MY build. This isn’t a generic overview of what you can & can’t fit on a GX. The 22” vossen wheels come in 30,20,18 offsets all of which you will need to trim to fit my 285 tires (recon grappler)
Hey Will. Beautiful GX. Thoughts from an old audio guy....probably won't bother many but hey. If you wanna up your game, the built in mic is not the way to go. You are just too far from the mic to get clear audio outside. And as the phone moves closer and further from you the volume goes up and down with that distance. You even cover the mic almost completely in the clip around 3:10. Get a blue tooth mic or apple air pods will help. Also, for ambient noise like wind or air conditioning etc...look into the Clarity VX plugin. Simple one knob adjustment to get rid of background noise. You look like a pro UA-camr. These two fixes will help you sound like one. :)
@@WimyaThe Rode Wireless Micro is pretty popular. But PLEASE we aren’t supposed to SEE the mic. Hide it under your shirt. This will help with ambient noise as well.
@ right, I’m 6’3” and it actually gets in the way for me. I wouldn’t mind the retractable bars, but like you said it makes the vehicle look taller with them off. I have the GX550 Premium Plus model, loving it so far, 5100 miles so far
The GX 550 is definitely on my list for my next SUV and would make similar modifications like you did. I think the retractable steps would look great, matte/satin tint on tail lamps and the LC 1st edition roof rack I’m on the fence but that might work. Keep the videos coming! I need to know how much more $ i need for mods and labor lol
@@jgreyes69 Thanks!! I appreciate the support! The GX is a great buy! I honestly like it way more than I thought I was going to. I’ve seen another GX with the LC roof rack and to me it looked great, not as tall as the OT ones from Lexus which is the main appeal.
Mine is coming next year but in an Overtrail.. Did you take off the bumper for the cut to fit the tyre? And only the front bumper that need to be trim?
I wanted an OT originally until I found out there was no 3rd row option and that was a deal breaker. No need to remove the front bumper for the cut. Just the wheel for a little more working room. And yes that was the only place that was cut.
Great look; however It doesn't sit well with me putting $500 spacers in a 80K vehicle. 😂 I remember using spacer blocks back in high school for my pickup truck.
There are two things that I don't like. Premium gas, and that my phone will not fit on the wireless charger because of the angle. Everything else is great.
Yea the premium fuel kinda sucks, but I’ve been use to it for awhile now after the Maserati & TRX. That is a massive bummer about the phone though! What phone do you have?
Is it more mall crawler build than offroad? I'm always looking for smaller rims more tire, and I did the cheap lift once and it made my fj ride like crap. The spacers are hard on bearings so be prepared for that.
@@LiamG903 I mean in the first minute of the video I said this was a pavement princess that will never see off road. I’m no stranger to perch collar lifts. Ran them ob plenty of Raptors & TRX. The ride is perfectly fine.
@Wimya nothing wrong with a pavement princess, my fj rode so much worse I didn't last long until I switch to elka suspension. It's looks good though. They did a great job with the body. I'm torn between a gx or importing a 70s series.

Whats a TMS sensor? Why do you have to swap it? Anything to do with the set up?
TPMS. Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor. You can swap them from your stock wheels or buy new ones.
22s proportionally look too big in my opinion. 20 inch wheel max, but to each their own. Awesome rig.
In my opinion 20” looked small on the GX for this type of build. In a more off-road inspired build 18 or 20 would look titts.
