That's gotta be soooo much pressure, on Neil. It's not even for him but he's literally giving it his alll, trying to help this guy. Dude doesn't even give him a Thank You in the end. Means he didn't deserve it. Good
Poor Neil - he shook his head NO about going on. He & Melanie just weren't really clicking. I believe this (and other such type games) are harder on the celeb than they are on the contestant.
Neil is one of the few celebrities who takes this type of game seriously. Have you watched the new Match Game on ABC? It's kind of appalling how many terrible joke answers they gave and how some of them blatantly favor one player over the other.
@@SecretAgentRandyBeans111 I think the worst thing about the new Match Game is the judging. There was one question where every answer was obviously going to be some variety of boat and they called them all a match. I know they don't take the game all that seriously, but it really takes me out of the game when they're that frivolous about it.
What are you watching and talking about 😵💫?!!!! Neil took Melanie to the Finals winning $25,000! I think you’re confusing the two female players. Alexis is the one in the second half that didn’t do well!
If this show had come back to the original 1960s format or the 1970s-1980s "Password Plus" format or even the 1980s "Super Password" format, I would have loved it.
Jonathan Ashbeck Ludden and Kennedy were very short as far as theirs are concerned. Convy is also short in his, common to them all is they play differently. No one version plays the same way twice
Did ANYBODY win the top million dollars prize during Regis Philbin’s year of hosting this ‘60s CBS game show classic? He only hosted it for the 2008-09 season
The big problem with these shows is there is never a contestant that carries over from one episode to the next. You could have the best player in the world, but you'll know that if there's only five minutes left in the show and he's just won the fifty thousand that he's going to stop. That's what ruined it for me.
I was looking for all the fun and charm of the original password, but this was just brutal . No time for quips of joking around. I don't know what they pay celebrities but the pressure is enormous on them . I found the game to be really stressful .
Contestants seem to get swept in the choreographed excitement of the moment which moves them toward magical thinking...overlooking the odds against them, resulting in unnecessary loss, and I hate to see it happen.
Rachel Ray looks absolutely gorgeous in this episode… I forgot how pretty she really is!!! Neil Patrick Harris, class act!!! Very smart, always classy…
@joel Watson Fiasco is not as hard as he made it. Mess? Crazy? Horrible clues. Should have said failure and after that synonym. But hey, it's waaaay harder on tv with a looot of money on the line.
The contestant really choked on "corner." "Intersection" would have made a better clue. I would have just gone with Colorado/Arizona/Four or something though.
I'm a Password fan from way back and was so excited to hear about this revival. But Allen Ludden would never have recognized this! No one would ever have won $1,000,000-the game as structured here was just too tough. Password meets Millionaire? Regis as host was all wrong.
What? Check your math, if he sent this 2 years ago (2017), and if he was 4 when it aired, (2008) then he would be born in 2004, and would be about 13 at the time of his comment, so you're wrong. Go attack someone else saying their 8.
Not as hard as he made it. Should have said triangle, endings, 3. Fiasco equals mess and crazy? Horrible clues. Should have said failure and after that synonym. But hey, it's waaaay harder on tv with a looot of money on the line.
Fiasco was a Cashword on Super Password and they didn't get it in three clues either... not the most common of words to come up with. (unless NPH knew of rapper Lupe Fiasco.)
I never heard tell of THIS Password. I don't like it at ALL! It doesn't even TOUCH Password or Password Pus (or even super password)! But even so, If this is the first episode of the show, why would they not have Betty White!! That would have been more REALISTIC (I know that's not the right word, but it's the first one I thought of). But Betty was the Queen of Gameshows! probably more so Password, so it would have been a no BRAINER to have Betty White to be the first celebrity!
41:49 - Yeah. that was surely a disaster to lose the game! And they were so close!!! But that was a nice try. So, so close! But they tried our best that they could! I know that you should need to keep the $100,000. But they were one away.
That is the only episode that the contestant played for $250,000. No one has won $250,000 or more. and only one contestant has won nothing during the two-season run!

million dollars.... huge flashing light runways and yet.... not remotely as fun as Password Plus with its beautifully designed alphabetics set and its 'two layered game' with the guessed words creating a puzzle word.
Why do they have to switch around the "celebrities" after every five minutes? I get that they're trying to be more fair. It takes a little while though before you get in synch with the original c-plus list "star" you started with. They should keep the two teams together, like on the old Password show of the 1970s. After having to listen to Ray's voice for a half hour, you deserve the 25 grand you won!
The switch to see how well each contestant played with each celeb. That determined who was your partner in the million dollar round. Not to embarrass you, Randolph, but Regis DID explain that at the beginning of each million dollar round to each contestant

"state" and "Indiana" were pretty rotten clues for Ohio. How about "Cleveland" "Cincinnati" and if those don't work then say "state."
Or 'Oh' and 'State'.

It's paced too fast and the stakes are too high.
