Hey Great One Sunny 🌞 my pre emergent went down 12th Sept i used prodiamine and simazine 4l at the higher rate. I'll be looking to purchase Spectacle Flo for 2023 thanks for sharing 👍🏾
@ReppinCTandATL I’m a little mixed on it. Had a battery die on me after 2 years, but overall the push ability can’t be beat and it seems the perfect size for my yard. It’ll easily push 1 gal per 1000 sq ft.
Yes, I take the yearly max of this product and divide by 2 and apply that amount in September and December. Best product to prevent Poa. I do the same with Prodiamine, split app in March and June. Year around coverage.
1 gallon will cover 1,000 sq ft on average. So you will need .069 oz or 2.04 ml. Check out my handy calculator at: bermudalawncalendar.com/oz-acre-to-oz-sq-ft
Great video Sunny Bermuda !!! I am definitely going to use specticle flo next spring as it looks like a great option 👍🏻. Great point in breaking down the price per application as i know these products can be expensive but people sometime don’t realize how many application can come from 1 high upfront price which in the end will save money 👍🏻
I got the 12 gal Chapin sprayer from Lowe’s. Wow! It’s gone up in price like everything else. 12-Gallon Plastic Handheld Sprayer www.lowes.com/pd/Chapin-Chapin-97902-12-gallon-Battery-Operated-Push-Sprayer/5000297203
No, 3oz/acre lasts about 3 months in my experience. Here is what the label says in regards to yearly apps: The maximum single application rate of SPECTICLE FLO is 10 fl oz per acre. The total amount of SPECTICLE FLO applied in a 12-month period must not exceed 18.5 fl oz per acre. Use higher rates within the rate range when the site has historically higher weed pressure or when longer residual control is desired.
It won’t kill crabgrass but will prevent new crabgrass from growing. I will rotate between this in the Fall/Winter and Prodiamine in Spring/Summer. I’d recommend a schedule to help prevent all weeds from germinating.
Very good video Sunny, however i would never spend hundreds in a bottle of herbicide, for home owners that's just crazy imo. Prodiamine and simazine is what I use .
Thank you!! Very true, but it only cost $7.50 for my first app. I share the cost with friends. Prodiamine is probably cheaper but haven’t calculated it.
18 oz / 0.518 oz/app = 34.75 applications. If you are only applying once per year, then the bottle has to last 34 years to get the cost numbers quoted. 34.75 × $7.35 = $255. Provided the bottle is not stored outside, you might get 5-10 years out of it. Hard to say since there is no data on shelf life. But I would say that 10 years is generous for shelf life and 5 years is more realistic. $255 / 10 applications = $25.50 per application. Still beats WeedStop at $38 for 7500 sqft. Prodiamine plus simazine comes out cheaper and is just as effective on poa and other winter weeds.
Per label, 0.069 oz/1ksqft or 3oz per acre is the lowest rate which only provides 30-45 days protection against annual bluegrass. You probably need increase the rate to 6oz per acre or 0.138/1ksqft or 1.036oz per 7500sqft to get 2 months of control to cover October and November. Otherwise you can just reapply as you did again 30-45 days later.
Absolutely, I plan to do multiple apps. I’m about due for my second towards the end of this month. I really appreciate the feed back. I plan to use it on all 27,000 sq ft next year and share some with friends. May not last 2 years that way. I keep that and most pro chemicals indoors under controlled temps and humidity. Alabama heat and humidity could prove brutal if left in garage.
Hey Dwayne, installesd hybrid Bermuda late summer and have some common bermuda sprouting up (out of no where). Lawn was prepped well 2x and never had common bermuda before. Any suggestions to keep this at bay or remove altogether in SoCal. Got the Allet system.
Supposed to be one of the best pre emergent on the market for poa annua. It did outperform by a long shot other areas of my turf where I used Dithiopyr granule.
What's the difference between the Anderson barricade? Thanks
Main difference is the active ingredient. Some use barricade year round with great results. Check active ingredients and their yearly recommended max.
Great video. Cost upfront too much for me. I only have 2400 sqft. Any recommendations for my small yard that's equal about to Specticle flo?
Never tried it but some say Simazine is an equivalent that costs much less.

Thanks! It’s expensive but sharing with friends it only cost $7.50 per app. I heard it was good stuff. First time using it.
How did the Specticle hold up? Did it prevent the Poa from popping up?
Yes, pricey, but the best thing I've used to prevent Poa.
@@SunnyBermuda thx for responding. How do you like the Chapin push sprayer? I’m thinking about getting one so I can switch to liquids.

With the split application, do you apply the same amount ounces per square feet

Using Barricade by Syngeta on my Tiftuf here in Queensland. Its $240 Aussie pesos but will last for many years.
Barricade is a great product. You guys are hitting spring down there, right?
@@SunnyBermuda 6 weeks into spring, completed my Reno last week. Rains nearly everyday atm.
Thanks, Sunny, But how can I mix Specticle flo it with 1 gallon?

What’s the sprayer model & the soundtrack when spraying.
Chapin push sprayer: amzn.to/3NRuWk7
Not sure about the music. I try to just pull something from the free UA-cam music library.
My yard is about 14000 sqf how do know how much water to mix .how do figures out 10 gallons
I tested it multiple times with water and my spray tip.
Specticle is susposed to last one whole year at the 3oz per acre rate correct?

Got to put down my spec flo app this weekend. Pike road Alabama
Really starting to cool down. Wonder if we will get a 3rd summer in a few weeks. Hope it stays cool.
If I use this will it kill my crabgrass ?? I live in San Diego California. That's about the only grass that grows here !!

nice video Sunny. Never used Specticle FLO, I'll have to check it out..

Sprayer fixed and reapplying this weekend. 👍
I have 14000 sqf so I use double amounts of water base on the video but I can't understand how do you come up with 10 gallons
10 gallons was the amount used to evenly cover my square footage with product.

Sunny here, you could use glyphosate or Fusilade on the common. Then let the hybrid spread in or plug the area.
👍🏻
😎
Sunny, Why did you use Specticle Flo.
Supposed to be one of the best pre emergent on the market for poa annua. It did outperform by a long shot other areas of my turf where I used Dithiopyr granule.
3rd year using this product which is cheap
Yes, what rate do you apply?
8oz to acre with simazine at .75oz per sqft .
