Learning Ken these last few weeks. SF6 is truly a big brain game haha but this by far has been the most insightful tutorial for him! Love the detail and explanations on frame data. Thank you so much!
Fantastic guide man. I have been playing fighting games like Mortal Kombat and Tekken for pretty much all of my life, but street fighter six is the first Street fighter that I am actually trying to get really good at, just because the overall gameplay is so fun, and your guides are really helping me do that. I am also completely blind, so the fact that you explain the inputs for all of the special moves and don’t just put them on screen like most of the other guides out there do is very much appreciated. Thanks for all of the hard work you put into making these guides, and I hope you keep making them as the games lifespan progresses and more characters get released.
Your welcome, glad I can help. Amazing that you can play fighting games while being blind. There’s a player in my country, the Netherlands, who made waves playing blind at a super diamond level in street fighter V, Blind warrior Sven, played against him multiple times. Unreal to me that you can make it that far, wishing you all the best! Keep going 😎
First SF game im playing since SF 2 snd im really enjoying it thanks for all the work you put into these videos i love the format as well! Im going to go look for more of these thx againn

Oh man I really love your street fighter guides because you really manage to capture the bread and butter and most important things about a character giving everyone an amazing starting point to get into each character! Thank's for putting this out here and helping me understand more and more what this games about. I play fighting games my entire life and I really always loved street fighter but I always sucked at it so bad that It made me question my sanity. Now I tried to give sf6 another go and I picked ken as the character I wanted to learn because of daigo of course. I'm still having trouble with some of the combos as the imputs are insanely fast for me, coming from tekken. I now have a practice routine where I repeat a couple of combos in training mode every day until my muscle memory manages to keep up with the speed of the game and I feel like I am making good progress every single time I practice it! Your video helped me understand that you don't necessarily need the most advanced combos in order to be good at the game! Thanks and greetings from germany!
Heyyy great to hear! Happy to help of you have any questions. Practising basic confirms daily is exactly what you need to improve. clk, clp, lk, uppercut or tatsu. clp, mp, hp, run, uppercut or dragonlash Those are the real “needs”. Thats enough to go to platinum if you can anti air a bit and dont take huge risks imo 😎
This is the best guide I have found for Ken! The tips on frame traps after combos helped me finally climb out of gold after being there for over 200 fights! Last night i went on a 12 game winning streak. Thanks again :)
Yup I haven’t mastered them either, but it’s good to remember that light jinrei into f-hk always works into m-shoryuken. No exceptions and its only like 90 dmg less, so using that is fine. Medium is also available but there is a timing element that just doesnt feel great Good to know we can still optimize
I watched this without any SF experience and didn't understand a lot. Now that i've got 20 hours in, I feel like Im understanding more now and appreciating the quality of this guide. I suggest people watch it several times as you'll get more and more concepts the more you watch it.
Just hopped in to say, this is such a great Ken tutorial! This immensely upped my game and helped me understand what to do in certain situations, and what normals I should use with Ken. This guide, practicing fundamentals (ant air, whiff punishing), and watching gameplay are all you need to get really good with Ken imo. I am gonna check out your other guides FOR SURE when I want to start a new character. Thank you.
@@iZonkGaming2021 bro... I've rewatched this video maybe 20 times. I'm telling you... this guide is so good I have even taken notes on it. You have cracked the code when it comes to SF6 guides. I hope you continue making character guides (I'm personally hoping for Dee Jay)
@march19th64 thx man!! Well Deejay is unlikely because I have never played a charge character so thats gonna take forever (making this already takes about 10 hours, excluding the learn process) . I think Juri is next orrr a new character.
@@iZonkGaming2021 yessir! that was a great addition to this guide. Not going for the heavy dp after dragon lash and instead jumping in always catches people off guard (the mixup options are insane from there)! Your guide style is so good that when I decide to pick up a secondary character, im just gonna come straight to your channel to see which guides you have uploaded lol
Happy to help! I did try to make the guides somewhat timeless, so that it can survive balance patches, glad to hear that its still relevant for you guys 😎
Nice man. I have good news for you then; the next video is gonna feature this exact combo with some surprising follow ups for you to try in your games 😎
Thank you for not spending 15 hours in the normal section. A lot of UA-camrs like to dive into super detail about normals that they themselves admit are average. I don't need all the nitty gritty details about every single frame data for every move possible.
Thank you so much for this guide. There's allready some guides on Ken. But for a beginner this one really nails it with stuff i can learn and use now untill my execution is good enough for all that advanced stuff. Instant Sub.
Nice videos. I played Cody in SF4 and played in a few tournaments. I did pretty well in all of them. Still my favorite SF character and I wish he was in SF6.
Thx!! I think he will be, in the story mode he was already referenced that hes still the mayor of metro city, the game plays mostly IN metro city and he’s a very popular character. I will 100% play him asap when he comes to sf6 🥹
I needed this. My PC died & I did my first build instead of buying another pre-built. That meant 1 month off SF6. I returned today to get wrecked in Iron. YUP.
Need to watch this properly. Was on the verge of Gold but went on a terrible streak today and got busted back down to Silver 4. Seems this one is highly recommended
Ups and downs are part of it, get tired and you will start losing haha same on all levels. Good luck! If you need any help for specific stuff, let me know.
Thx! You mean the special moves with the inputs? If you have any questions you can comment with a time stamp and i’ll let you know what move I was doing, no problem 👋
@@iZonkGaming2021 was referring to all the combo strings. Many vids I watch have all these written on screen but they have nowhere near the great commentary as you. Adding the moves would make yours that much better though it's miles above already!
Great video, loving this game! My first proper attempt to learn a fighting game so just training at the moment but this is really useful thanks for your help, subscribed!!!
After playing for a while, I uave discovered some stuff. Ken has a lot of frame kill setups. 1) after run tatsu oki, you can do st lp into run > overhead for a meaty overhead. 2) after a heavy DP (non juggle ender), you can do a jab to do meaty st hp. 3) after run tatsu oki, you can do heavy jinrai into low followup to land the low meaty. 4) after a medium DP (juggle ender), you can time a meaty run overhead. (Not a frame kill setup) This ks what I have seen so far.
Great guide. I am new to sf6, I play NRS games. For anybody who uses a dualshock, where do you have your run cancel bound to? I have parry and DI on L1 and L2, so put triple kick on face button. Works ok just wondering what everyone else is doing. I’ve read most just put 3 punches and 3 kicks on L1/L2 One thing that I’m tryin to explore is his routes off cHP that do NOT involve the run cancel. If you hit a cHP mid screen, you can go into heavy jinrai kicks which juggles. But From here all I see is OD Tatsu, DK into super or sharyuken etc The run cancel combos def not worth it until your execution is on. I have died SO many times by barely missing the timing on one of the many run cancel bnb PC combos. And it seems like you can do a lot with jinrai midscreen if you land a cHP Very fun character and game. If you’re new to sf6 this guy is great because he plays fundamentals well but also has swag and rush down for when you improve.
Yup agree on the run combos. Atleast, the chp into run, you dont need it, you can do cmp and give up only like 50 dmg and be way more consistent. You do need the run into his fire uppercut, his fire dragon lash (best route to all supers) and less so his fire tatsu IMO. Maybe not absolute beginner but silver gold, you should try to use those because his dmg is already quite low
Glad UA-cam recommended this channel to me! Long time Ken player here. I’ve been stuck in Gold rank so I’m going to apply what I’ve learned and report back once I’m Master rank 🫡 🔥 👊🏾 #ClassicPlayer
Great, thats gonna help you a lot and hit a lot of people since its a low 😎 also it carries over to other characters, stringing 3 lights together is the main way of preventing your opponent to press buttons for 90% of the cast
Definitely your guides are the best. Straight to the point with a lot of useful tips. Could you do the same for Juri? I'm sure I will learn something new from you even if I'm a Juri main. Thanks for your dedication creating excellent videos.
Ahh thx man!!! 💯 Juri? Mm maybe! Maybe, I will. Honestly I’ve barely played the game, I made 4 full guides haha I’m gonna play some Ken this week and see how it goes, I’m not opposed to Juri, could be fun and I think shes VERY strong rn that cmk is broke
without counter / punish counter, how do i connect cr lk, cr lp, into st lk, and then dp? (I know how do buffer forward st lk into dp, but cant connect the lk from lp).. HELP
The clp is +5 on hit, the lk is 5f start up so its a link. It only works after clp, not after a lp (that is only +4 on hit). Sometimes my confirm into lk+dp gets blocked as welll, which makes me furious lol the input buffer in this game is bad, cant wait for that to be fixed You could also go for clk, clp, lp, dp. That has 1 more frame to connect (but a bit less range) or you focus on confirming into a special after clp. So clk, clp, light tatsu and then a medium dp, i also use that here and there
Standing short better for neutral, option select into anything, can counter DI. Standing forward is punishable on block, get wrecked by DI. Use crouch forward instead 😊
Yup not a bad idea. Myself, I dont use the parry and drive impact button. I use mp+mk for parry and hp+hp for drive impact. I dont like using my macros for reaction based actions because i play on hitbox, its to far to tap super fast with a pinky. I might as well find a purpose for those buttons as well, maybe map PPP so i can uppercut better in a block string hmmm good point!
Subbed, your guides are excellent for me as a long time Tekken player trying SF for the first time. Are you planning to do a Luke guide soon? Thank you
Soooo 4:20~4:40ish I cannot get shoryuken to connect after standing L kick do I need to look at a newer video or? First time playing SF but come from DBZF and UMVC3 so my fingers are in culture shock. The timing is completely different. Any tips would be nice
There is a shortcut in street fighter for canceling into dp. So; lp, lk, dp…you do lp, forward+lk, then qcf punch The ➡️ when you press lk counts as the ➡️ of the ➡️⬇️➡️ motion that gives shoryuken. That way, you complete the lotion much faster and you will get the combo down. Slight downside in sf6; if you have level 3 super, you might get that because the super inputs are a bit fucked 2. If you need to go from a crouching normal into dp, lets say crouching medium punch, you do ⬇️↘️ as you press mp…then down ⬇️↘️ again with the punch for shoryuken. Small tips the game doesnt teach you, try it out! Another one; if you dash forward and do a fireball motion (⬇️↘️➡️) you will get shoryuken. That often sucks, so after a dash you should do half circle to get the fireball ⬅️↙️⬇️↘️➡️ . Thats something Ed has to work with because he likes to meaty with fireball after a dash Maybe i should do a video on this
Yea you have to hold forward and input the motion to get it to go into uppercut. You could not do that and go for light tatsu, that circumvents that situation For me, i dislike how his lk into do becomes super for no apparent reason. If i do clk, clp, lk, shoryuken, i get super after the third hit a LOT but my inputs never show anything else but a dragon punch motion, easy inputs makes life harder sometimes haha
@@iZonkGaming2021when should I be using the run stop during a combo? I only really use it at the end for a dp or tatsu, but i see people using it after medium punch and i don't understand how/why
Good luck! Theres a mini mind game to be played with Dhalsim. If you throw fireballs, he can go under with his hp and punish you. It also punishes drive rush. But if he does his hp and you jump, he wont recover in time and you get a jump in. If he does the arching fireball, your jump will get AA’ed but you can drive rush under. His limbs go almost full screen but he can be whiff punished. Try mp buffered into his run from full screen or a drive rush. Good luck!
Whilst Jinrai in pressure is scrubby, I have found that target combo to Medium jinrai with LK jinrai, then followed up with TC again does frame trap, so it's actually pretty good😅
Thx! Chun is a charge character. Ive never invested time into learning that control system so I’m a bit hesitant to start, because it will take much more time and making these already is quite hard work. More likely I will go for Juri, Lily..some one like that after Ken 😎
awesome, thanks for the material and commentary. Ill try to work with it. I have one question. Why are some Special Moves with Fire Effects? I know just the L M and H and OD Versions. The OD Versions have the fire effect too, but u do it wihtout OD using? Cause Charakter is not Gold shimmering. Thank you :)
You get the flames on his uppercut, tatsu and dragon lash when you do them from a run. You get the run from mp, hp target combo. So when you do: mp, hp, run (lk+mk) and then during the run, you input uppercut or tatsu or dragon lash, it gets flames and the move is powered up 😎
It is, cr lp is the way to go, 4f start up. You can combo into his mp, hp target combo, or frame trap with clp, clk, lp. I dont remember where i said st lk for meaties, its been almost a year since i made this guide but def cr lp is your best pressure tool, also sets up a tick throw situation if you convince the opponent to respect the frame trap 🙌
Thats his run uppercut. You press 2 kicks (i use lk+mk). That’ll make Ken go into run. From this run you can do ➡️⬇️↘️➡️ punch for this running dragon punch. You can also go into ➡️⬇️↘️➡️ kick for his running dragonlash, which will side switch and gives a juggle. You can also do the run into ⬇️↙️⬅️ kick, that gives his running tatsu, which carries the opponent full screen. Dash twice and you have great pressure Just remember; do the run after his mp, hp target combo. It launches the opponent, setting up the run into your favorite follow up. Use the run tatsu for corner carry and oki, run dragonpunch for more damage and run dragonlash for side switching Try them all! Mp, hp…then press 2 kicks and then the motion you want
Yea after the run dragon lash, you can do shoryuken or any of his 3 supers (level 1 will switch sides, back to where you were but not a good knock down unfortunately)
I strungle a lot on C-LK/ C-LP / LK - technique as a beggiber the window is super short and sometimes even the LK is not happening, very very difficult
Yea it takes practise. Did you try clk, clp, qcb lk (light tatsu)? Maybe that feels easier. That can even combo to medium shoryuken for almost 2k damage.
@@iZonkGaming2021 Thank you bro, it's work better like that, i still dont handle the combo that i told you, if i do a LP instead of the lk it's a bit more easier but i do not know if it's worth it
Thank you for the advice! Very helpful video. I have a question about the blocked m.p-h.p target combo. It seems like all of his followup special options have their weaknesses, and I find myself getting blown up often after trying to follow up with hado/jinrai/dragonlash. Are there any truly safe ways to end that target combo or do we just have to mix it up to keep them guessing?
There is no ‘real’ follow up outside of OD fireball after mp+hp on block. Thats why its better to learn to confirm into it, from clp (clp, mp IS safe) and from a drive rush button on hit or a punish. If all fails, OD fireball is a good way to be safe if they mash buttons a lot. Good luck!
@@iZonkGaming2021 gotcha, time to practice confirms then. Something I've been dreading as a newer player in my 30's 😅 Thank you very much for the response!
Good guide my man. Was looking forward to just slightly more tech at the end tho. Maybe some frame traps or space traps I didn’t know. But overall very good man. Appreciate the reminder of the plus frames on block of the drive rush crouch medium. 🫡
He is on the list, gonna play some Ken first (probably do 1 more advanced video on him, tech) and then Juri is the next guide most likely. Jamie is in the list!
Ok soooo which buttons am I using to complete the uppercut that takes both characters in the air and Ken says shut up (assuming thats the super art)? Sorry all; brand new to Street Fighter.
Thats his Level 3 super, its animated. Thats quarter circle forward, quarter circle forward + punch . You need 3 stocks of super bar (bottom of the screen). If you yourself are close to death (little life left, it turns yellow) he will even dunk them down and say the “sit down and shut up”. That last part is only when he’s close to death, its called his Critical Art (your super bar will say “CA” when you have it) Hope that helps
Yes, thats why my advise is to go for mp+hp into light jinrei: qcf lk into f-hk. Into medium shoryuken. You can string those together and it will work without too much timing. The qcf mk into f-hk is much hardere to hit, same for the OD version, not easy to do at all. Heavy is easy as well (only goes into light shoryuken!) but thats only available on a wall splat basically
Hey! Do you do viewer matches? I'd love to get some sets with you and see there's something I should be implementing on my gameplay to go from plat to diamond
Do you happen to be Dutch? Man I love Ken as a character! But I am a new player starting to take SF serious. Needless to say I can’t pull off half of what you’re saying xD. Hope I’ll meet someone who really wants to teach me :)
I am! 🇳🇱 Ken came out well in sf6, much cooler than in SFV imo 😎 just start simple, sf6 is a very chaotic fast paced game. Just use hp, cmk and mk in neutral and see if you can learn to uppercut jump ins. If you cant at first, just use crouch heavy punch. Good start!
@@iZonkGaming2021 ah nice! I recognised your accent. Dutchy here as well xD. I am trying to start openings that way. Mostly people defend it though and I am still off on switching to grabs at the right timing. But nothing practice will not solve. I am currently on Modern since the controls remind me more of tekken and DOA which I used to play. But you need to manually input most stuff that is good anyway in some way. Might switch to Classic to have more control. Also finding some players that are willing to teach (well just 2 xD), that helps A LOT!
As someone that's also learning the game, I've found this to be the best way. I've started with some simpler combos as I tend to freeze up in actual matches, but as I get more comfortable and experience throwing in more difficult.
Yes, that with experience of other street fighter games and fighting games in general. When you start, just pick a light and medium combo and try to confirm into those, skip the corner combos and flashy ones For ken, you need clk, clp, lk, uppercut (or light tatstu). You could also end sith fireball if youre a beginner, if it goes wrong it carries way less risk (less reward as well) For mediums, you need to be able to confirm into his mp+hp target combo. So clp, mp…confirm into hp, run, dragon lash (fdf kick), and then the uppercut as it bounces them off of the ground. You can also use this after a jump in. So jump mk, clp, mp, hp, run, fdf kick, fdf punch Practising those a lot is important, those are good habits, you can use other more expensive and extended combos later, they are all in some way linked to mp+hp
Practice really is the secret. You can up the intensity by setting the cpu to random guard, random punish and whatnot. Ive once read you learn a combo 3 times: once in practice, once against a moving cpu and once against a human. Apart from execution it helps to compartmentalise moves into their purpose. After a heavy punch Im mentally already alarmed looking for the red flashing counter. Practice adapting hits into safe block strings and vice versa if they mash between the strings. Practice buffering drive rush after key moves. There are other tips like set a gameplan wherein you only have to think about less than 3 combos. This point is a bit abstract but if you know where the middle of the stage is: your goal is to reach the corner. How do you reach the corner? Right, theres that corner carry combo you practiced. Now you need to know how to get into that combo off each hit. Maybe that combo requires you to hit a MP combo. You have to know how to get to that MP with any hit. Can you react after one mashed cLP? Can you drive rush after 2 mashed cLP? Opponent isnt in jab range? Well can you screen control with fireballs and cMK to box your opponent into a corner? etc. But most importantly dont get burnt out and overwhelmed. Set small goals and work on them one step at a time
Thats the most important string in the game so time well spent ;) you can end with light tatsu as well and get a good knock down 👌 canceling a crouch button into dp can be hard so thats normal,go for tatsu first.
Haha well, one day Im beating CPT winners, next day i lose 100 mr in half an hour because I just cant stop drive rush a single time all flipping game 😂

Practising basic confirms daily is exactly what you need to improve. clk, clp, lk, uppercut or tatsu. clp, mp, hp, run, uppercut or dragonlash
Those are the real “needs”.
Wow thats big, congrats! Glad to help a little, well done 😎
Great to know about all the juggle options with Jinrai. That's something I've been struggling a lot to master. Awesome guide!
Yup I haven’t mastered them either, but it’s good to remember that light jinrei into f-hk always works into m-shoryuken. No exceptions and its only like 90 dmg less, so using that is fine. Medium is also available but there is a timing element that just doesnt feel great
Good to know we can still optimize
Best Ken guide, you literally gave the best pointers on where I was struggling in neutral
Happy to hear that! Knowing your main options and distances is more important than doing a cool jump in combo in training 😎
I watched this without any SF experience and didn't understand a lot. Now that i've got 20 hours in, I feel like Im understanding more now and appreciating the quality of this guide. I suggest people watch it several times as you'll get more and more concepts the more you watch it.
Wow thats great feedback thx! Getting more people excited about learning fighting games is what I hope to achieve so thats great 🙌
Just hopped in to say, this is such a great Ken tutorial! Thank you.
Wow a ringing endorsement!! Thx so much, glad I could help. Theres some Ken ideas in the latest video too (flowchart video) 🙏
@march19th64 btw, did you watch the last video? It has some more advanced set play ideas for Ken (and rashid). Good to expand on this guide
Wow 1 year later and this guide still is the best out there tnks....
Happy to help! I did try to make the guides somewhat timeless, so that it can survive balance patches, glad to hear that its still relevant for you guys 😎
Thanks for this guide, just reached platinum yesterday with ken 😊
Well done!!
I keep coming back to this video to improve my neutral game. Great stuff.
I keep referencing back to this. It felt so satisfying to finally get the MP HP Dragonlash DP combo off in an actual game.
Nice man. I have good news for you then; the next video is gonna feature this exact combo with some surprising follow ups for you to try in your games 😎
The jinrai kick (qcf-kick) is really useful as a mixup tool on people blocking. You can jinrai then link into the low attack or normal or overhead
Best Ken tutorial I’ve seen!
Ah big praise, thx so much, hope it helps!
Been looking for the perfect guide since the beta, thank you my friend
Yw!! Big praise 😎
Thank you for not spending 15 hours in the normal section. A lot of UA-camrs like to dive into super detail about normals that they themselves admit are average. I don't need all the nitty gritty details about every single frame data for every move possible.
Glad ya like the formula, I make all my character guides in this format. Terry is next!
Thank you so much for this guide. There's allready some guides on Ken. But for a beginner this one really nails it with stuff i can learn and use now untill my execution is good enough for all that advanced stuff. Instant Sub.
Ahh great comment to start my day with, thank you!!
Great video. Thanks for showing live gameplay to demonstrate the tips
Yw and thx!
Thnx i needed this video, spacing is so important dammn
By far the best Ken Guide thus far
Big praise, thank you!
You are absolutely the best I love this guide and will watch it everyday to master the guide. I subscribed thank you!
Wow thx James, happy to help, welcome aboard 😎

I main Ken,This is a great Ken guide, thank you for sharing it.
Yw!!
First SF game ever, great video for beginners
Nice to hear!! Enjoy :)
This has to be the best guide for sf6 I have seen. I just wish the moves were listed on screen as well.
Good vídeo bro, thanks for helping me starting to play ken!

Your welcome and welcome aboard 👊
Great video, loving this game! My first proper attempt to learn a fighting game so just training at the moment but this is really useful thanks for your help, subscribed!!!
Welcome Andrew and thx! Glad its found helpful 😎
Today i was fighting with Ken in SF6. He is awesome.
(Not a frame kill setup)
This ks what I have seen so far.
bro youre so good at explaining
Thank you! Glad you enjoy my guides 😎
Great video, helped a lot
I just subscribed to your channel great insight

Peace ✌️ to all my fellow Ken mains out there! Road to Master!!! 👊 👊 👊
I was wondering why I was losing alot in the neutral. at least I know what to work on !
Great guide. I am new to sf6, I play NRS games. For anybody who uses a dualshock, where do you have your run cancel bound to? I have parry and DI on L1 and L2, so put triple kick on face button. Works ok just wondering what everyone else is doing. I’ve read most just put 3 punches and 3 kicks on L1/L2
One thing that I’m tryin to explore is his routes off cHP that do NOT involve the run cancel. If you hit a cHP mid screen, you can go into heavy jinrai kicks which juggles. But From here all I see is OD Tatsu, DK into super or sharyuken etc
The run cancel combos def not worth it until your execution is on. I have died SO many times by barely missing the timing on one of the many run cancel bnb PC combos. And it seems like you can do a lot with jinrai midscreen if you land a cHP
Very fun character and game.
I’ve been stuck in Gold rank so I’m going to apply what I’ve learned and report back once I’m Master rank
🫡 🔥 👊🏾 #ClassicPlayer
Awesome!! Good luck 😎 you got this!
Great video man, gonna practise those light strings
Great, thats gonna help you a lot and hit a lot of people since its a low 😎 also it carries over to other characters, stringing 3 lights together is the main way of preventing your opponent to press buttons for 90% of the cast
@@iZonkGaming2021 Very useful tip again, many thanks!
Just note if you do medium jinrai kick there's only a 1 frame gap between the kick and the forward light extension
Very cool! Thanks for this!

Thanks!!! This was really helpful
Yw and thx for watching!
without counter / punish counter, how do i connect cr lk, cr lp, into st lk, and then dp? (I know how do buffer forward st lk into dp, but cant connect the lk from lp).. HELP
The clp is +5 on hit, the lk is 5f start up so its a link. It only works after clp, not after a lp (that is only +4 on hit).
Sometimes my confirm into lk+dp gets blocked as welll, which makes me furious lol the input buffer in this game is bad, cant wait for that to be fixed
You could also go for clk, clp, lp, dp. That has 1 more frame to connect (but a bit less range) or you focus on confirming into a special after clp. So clk, clp, light tatsu and then a medium dp, i also use that here and there
Subbed, great tutorial
Thx and welcome!
Great guide thanks a lot!
Excellent video.
Thx!!
Standing short better for neutral, option select into anything, can counter DI. Standing forward is punishable on block, get wrecked by DI. Use crouch forward instead 😊
Nice video 👍 thx
😎
Real nice bro gg
Thx!
I have my left trigger remapped to all kicks which I feel helps my execution. Also helps with doing OD specials that use a kick button.
@@iZonkGaming2021really wanna try a hitbox but struggling to find them in the UK!!
Subbed, your guides are excellent for me as a long time Tekken player trying SF for the first time. Are you planning to do a Luke guide soon? Thank you
I think I will do Luke yes, but Juri is first most likely. Thx for the sub!
went from low silver 4 to gold 2 in one night after watching this 🔥
Nice job Rasengan!! Big steps 😎
How are you connecting that F-HK after QCF-KK @10:20? Mine whiffs just like you did @10:13. Not sure what I'm missing here.
Its a small window in the timing. You have to delay the f-hk by just a little. I’d advise you to use QCF LK, f-hk. That has a huge window 😎
Soooo 4:20~4:40ish I cannot get shoryuken to connect after standing L kick do I need to look at a newer video or? First time playing SF but come from DBZF and UMVC3 so my fingers are in culture shock. The timing is completely different. Any tips would be nice
There is a shortcut in street fighter for canceling into dp. So;
lp, lk, dp…you do lp, forward+lk, then qcf punch
The ➡️ when you press lk counts as the ➡️ of the ➡️⬇️➡️ motion that gives shoryuken. That way, you complete the lotion much faster and you will get the combo down. Slight downside in sf6; if you have level 3 super, you might get that because the super inputs are a bit fucked
Thats something Ed has to work with because he likes to meaty with fireball after a dash
Maybe i should do a video on this
I def understand coming from FighterZ to this being a completely different universe 😂 everything feels so different it took me a while to adjust too
excellent guide thanks mens
Yw!
I kinda hate Ken's standing LK. It's so difficult for me to link stuff with it if I'm not already buffering a direction
Yea you have to hold forward and input the motion to get it to go into uppercut. You could not do that and go for light tatsu, that circumvents that situation
For me, i dislike how his lk into do becomes super for no apparent reason.
Thanks for the video, helped me a lot. I’m silver and trying to beat my friends diamond dhalsim lol
Good luck!
Whilst Jinrai in pressure is scrubby, I have found that target combo to Medium jinrai with LK jinrai, then followed up with TC again does frame trap, so it's actually pretty good😅
Bro..they even buffed this stupid move since the last patch haha it’s Unreal, abuse it by all means hehe
@@iZonkGaming2021heeeeeeell yeah bro! 😂
I appreciate this as a complete beginner. Can you do chun li next?
So when you do: mp, hp, run (lk+mk) and then during the run, you input uppercut or tatsu or dragon lash, it gets flames and the move is powered up 😎
@@iZonkGaming2021 now im ready. Thanks 👊😁
why would i use cr light kick over cr light jab for corner pressure? isnt cr. light jab faster?
It is, cr lp is the way to go, 4f start up. You can combo into his mp, hp target combo, or frame trap with clp, clk, lp.
I dont remember where i said st lk for meaties, its been almost a year since i made this guide but def cr lp is your best pressure tool, also sets up a tick throw situation if you convince the opponent to respect the frame trap 🙌
Nice Guide as always +1 and how about the juri advance guide ?
Its being requested a lot, I am leaning to a “yes” 😅
@@iZonkGaming2021 Let's gooo we neeed i realy advenced guide like frame traps meety etc ! i can't wait to see it ahah ^^
How do you do this dragon punch at 1:35?
Thats his run uppercut. You press 2 kicks (i use lk+mk). That’ll make Ken go into run. From this run you can do ➡️⬇️↘️➡️ punch for this running dragon punch. You can also go into ➡️⬇️↘️➡️ kick for his running dragonlash, which will side switch and gives a juggle. You can also do the run into ⬇️↙️⬅️ kick, that gives his running tatsu, which carries the opponent full screen. Dash twice and you have great pressure
Just remember; do the run after his mp, hp target combo. It launches the opponent, setting up the run into your favorite follow up.
Use the run tatsu for corner carry and oki, run dragonpunch for more damage and run dragonlash for side switching
Try them all! Mp, hp…then press 2 kicks and then the motion you want
@@iZonkGaming2021 Wow that helps so much. I was wondering how people did this. Thanks!
@@Silentpartner2176 yw, time to practise 😎
So when you do the run into dragon lash can I only do heavy DP or is my timing for the light version off
Yea after the run dragon lash, you can do shoryuken or any of his 3 supers (level 1 will switch sides, back to where you were but not a good knock down unfortunately)
Something I've been dreading as a newer player in my 30's 😅
Thank you very much for the response!
Me after watching this video,
Brain: I understand all of it
Hands: Not really
Hahaha yea takes some time for me too each time i do this for a new character.
Good guide my man. Was looking forward to just slightly more tech at the end tho. Maybe some frame traps or space traps I didn’t know. But overall very good man. Appreciate the reminder of the plus frames on block of the drive rush crouch medium. 🫡
Thx! I have a tech video planned, working on it :) mostly frame kills
Please do a Jamie guide soon. Im dying to learn the character but im so lost.
That last part is only when he’s close to death, its called his Critical Art (your super bar will say “CA” when you have it)
Hope that helps
I can't get out the special move after a light string. Any tips?
Umm.. not really..mm try holding down 🔽 then tapping lk, lp..and as you press the lp, you do 🔽↙️⬅️ lp.
Having a hard time mastering the Jinrai kick corner combo - particularly linking up the dragon punch at the end. The timing is pretty unforgiving.
Yes, thats why my advise is to go for mp+hp into light jinrei: qcf lk into f-hk. Into medium shoryuken. You can string those together and it will work without too much timing.
The qcf mk into f-hk is much hardere to hit, same for the OD version, not easy to do at all. Heavy is easy as well (only goes into light shoryuken!) but thats only available on a wall splat basically
cool guide bro! just fyi Ken's cMK is 7f startup, not 6!
Thx, you’re right!

How do you guys consistently do his combos in game? Do you just practice it over and over until it becomes muscle memory?
As someone that's also learning the game, I've found this to be the best way. I've started with some simpler combos as I tend to freeze up in actual matches, but as I get more comfortable and experience throwing in more difficult.
Yes, that with experience of other street fighter games and fighting games in general. When you start, just pick a light and medium combo and try to confirm into those, skip the corner combos and flashy ones
For ken, you need clk, clp, lk, uppercut (or light tatstu). You could also end sith fireball if youre a beginner, if it goes wrong it carries way less risk (less reward as well)
For mediums, you need to be able to confirm into his mp+hp target combo. So clp, mp…confirm into hp, run, dragon lash (fdf kick), and then the uppercut as it bounces them off of the ground. You can also use this after a jump in. So jump mk, clp, mp, hp, run, fdf kick, fdf punch
Practising those a lot is important, those are good habits, you can use other more expensive and extended combos later, they are all in some way linked to mp+hp
Set small goals and work on them one step at a time
Took me 2 hours only to learn a basic crouch light into special combo, and still I can only cancel into hadoken and not into dp
Thats the most important string in the game so time well spent ;) you can end with light tatsu as well and get a good knock down 👌 canceling a crouch button into dp can be hard so thats normal,go for tatsu first.
Haha I thought I was bad with ken in smash bros ultimate until I started playing ken in sf6 😂
Haha well, one day Im beating CPT winners, next day i lose 100 mr in half an hour because I just cant stop drive rush a single time all flipping game 😂
